Kiss You

We reached the castle which looked unusually silent, unlike the last time when hundreds of vamps roamed about.

" Before we step out of the car, I would like to remind you of your primary duty here, you must protect my wife even if it means risking your life. No royal except my father should come close to her, not even my mother." Out of the blue, Dav blurted out those words.

I saw his gaze directed at the rear mirror, he was probably staring at Ray and Leo before he formed a smile on his face as he shifted his gaze to me.

Good lord, if I wouldn't be exaggerating the situation, I would have thought that Dav had the talent to change his mood so quickly. No matter how he tried to hide who he really was, I still saw through him.

Wordless, he brought his palm to mine and gently pressed on it.

" This is our new home now, so you won't have any reason to be jealous of any female, right?" Dav asked while he leaned his face closer.

" Prince, your father is waiting, you can have time for your wife after the introductions." There he was, my guardian angel in disguise. Again, Leo had saved me from one of Dav's advances and as usual, Dav was upset about Leo's interruption.

Without saying a word, he got out of the car, and both the two vamps and me followed suit. This time, I had a clearer view of the castle, the night did no justice to what I had seen. This was a castle of no end but my thoughts were immediately cut short by a slow series of loud claps.

I turned my gaze over to where it seemed to have come from, only to see Dav's young father approaching us with some vamp that I'd guessed were his guards but they surely didn't dress like one.

Sighting his father, Dav drew me closer to himself as he crossed his hand over my shoulder. Could that be a sign of possessiveness?..... against his father?

" Good to see you once again, princess." He pretended not to notice the presence of his son as he took my hand and placed his lips on the back of my palm. While he did that, I felt Dav's grip on me harden.

" It's my pleasure, your highness," I responded with a wide smile on my face, and from the way Dav had stared at me, I would have thought he had tried to ask me the reason for my smile.

" Father, we should go into the castle, we've stayed under the sun for a while," Dav said to break whatever moment I had with his father but he was right, I guess I didn't notice it because I was human, the sun might probably have started to irk his skin.

Wordless, Dav's father turned his back on us and walked straight into the castle but Dav didn't seem like he had plans to follow his father, instead, he instructed Ray and Leo to leave since he would like to have a word with me.

Now, we were the only ones left at the premises of the castle but Dav had not blurted out any word, instead, he stared at me but not with his usual gentle look, this time, it was filled with something I would consider as anger.

" I would appreciate it if you don't let other males touch you. I am the only one allowed to touch and kiss any part of your body. That is why I brought you to this castle, to make you mine. Don't smile for anyone that isn't me, not even my father."

First, I was startled by what he had said. Did he bring me to the castle to take the role of a prisoner-wife? Hearing those words from him made me think of the possibility of him actually hurting me if I go against his wishes.

" B..but it was just a friendly kiss." I managed to say.

" Wife, would you like it if I gave Beatrice or any other female a friendly kiss?" He asked.

Of course, I wouldn't want that, those lips shouldn't be placed on any other female but I can't possibly be jealous if he kissed my mother's hands. Getting no answer from me, Dav placed his two hands on my shoulder.

" That's all I want to know, now can we get in? My skin is reacting." Without waiting for me to say anything, he held my hand and led me into the castle but this time, we didn't go to the ballroom.

I saw myself in what seemed like a hallway, where many illustrative pictures were hung. I knew some of them had portrayed the history of the vampires and the humans but I chose not to put much interest in it.

" Aren't we supposed to be with your father?" I asked to hear a faint sigh from him.

" That's where we are headed, to the throne room." He said. It was very obvious that he wanted me to be quiet especially if I was going to talk about his father, so I kept quiet until we got to a large door embroidered in gold

Tiny human figures were crafted on the door, it was only a fool that wouldn't know that something important was behind the door.

I sighed because I knew that the moment the door would be opened, I would come face to face with a lot of the vamps, which explained why the castle was almost empty.

" You shouldn't behave like this, you are our princess and if things go smoothly, you will become the future queen, don't let them detect fear in you." I guess he must have also noticed my uneasiness since he had blurted out those words.

" But Da–"

" Trust me, I am your husband, which means that I will always be by your side." He gave me a warm smile while he brought his hand to my cheek and caressed it.

" Open!" He ordered.

Slowly but surely, the door spread wide open and as expected, everyone's attention was drawn to us…again!.
