Bound To The Vampire Prince

The human race was at war with the vampires but it all came to an end when an agreement was made. A truce that had been in existence for centuries– a woman would be offered to the current vampire prince to be his wife or mistress, trapped forever as his prisoner. It sounded drastic but thousands of women would kill for that spot but Eliza was the unlucky one Some said she was lucky, while others said it was through power and wealth that she managed to catch the interest of the cursed prince. Eliza lost all her privileges the moment she was proclaimed his bride but what happens when the vampires demand for their prince to have a child with Eliza? Or he chooses another human female that would do the job. " Don't worry, I respect your decision, I understand if you want to take in another wife." She whispered with a handful of tears ready to spill out from her reddened eyes " No wife, you are the only woman in my life!" Dav exclaimed. Will that promise hold for a long time, when Eliza refused to do her duty as the Prince's wife?

Fear!

" Remember, don't show them fear."

With those words, he took my hand and folded it in his elbow before taking slow steps to where his father had sat. It was then that Dav acted like royalty, especially with the way he walked and comported himself, if I didn't know any better, I would have thought that I was the one that had seen his playful side.

" All rise!" I heard a loud voice cry and in the next second, I saw those vampires who had managed to get a seat stand up. I didn't know why they did that but when Dav sat me on a fancy chair that seemed to have been preserved for me and he also sat on another one close to me, the vampires noisily took their seats afterward.

An intense silence followed, and the word of advice that Dav had given me kept ringing inside my head, even if it was hard, I tried to hide my fears. As usual, all gaze was directed at me, including Dav's mother and brothers.

" This is no longer new news to us, the crown prince would be living in the castle with the princess. Discrimination against her wouldn't be mercied as we are all obliged to take her as one of our own." The king's voice echoed in the large throne room.

After his words, a great murmur echoed among the vamps but whatever they had to say would be useless since the king had made the decree and I was somewhat happy about it.

" My king, since she would be staying in the castle, should we expect a child soon?" One of the vamps asked.

That question drew Dav's and the king's attention to me. I was the one that could answer that, didn't they know the processes of having a child?

" This is not a topic to be discussed to commoners when my wife conceives, the public would know." Dav stepped in to help me out. But the vampires didn't seem pleased by his words.

" But how can we assure the peace between the humans and our race if the princess doesn't have a child."

That question really shocked me, not because it was asked but by who asked the question. At that moment, I regretted ever stopping Dav from finishing him off once and for all. There, I could see Ray who had blurted out that question having a smirk on his face. He dared not look at Dav so his gaze was directed at me.

" You of all people should know that the humans and the vampires are far from war, especially when we have their daughter, so any speculation of a possible war should be put aside." Dav responded with gritted teeth and eyes that said ' what the heck are you doing?'

" That's not what I heard, the humans are planning to bring in another human female that would bear you a child since the current one is not interested in doing so. If you refuse, they would see that the vampires are backing out from the long-term peace treaty and might consider war." Ray blurted out another demonic word.

Good lord, why did Dav just happen to be acquainted with a vampire like Ray? He knew stuff like this and didn't bother to inform Dav, instead he chose to embarrass me in the presence of more than a thousand vamps.

" What are your sources? The humans will never try that unless the current human female is dead." Dav asked.

" I sent a spy to the human territory and trust me, they have a lot planned for us if the princess refuses to bear a child for you."

Dav turned his gaze over to me and then back to the crowd. Their expression showed that they were scared of any possible war but the last time I checked, they were the much stronger race, so what could the humans possibly do that made them behave that way?

" So are you suggesting I take in another wife?" Dav asked.

" If that would bring peace among the two races, I see no fault in that, but you wouldn't have to do that if the princess agrees to have a child with you," Ray said.

Hell, at that moment, my hatred for Ray intensified. No way would I allow a vamp as cunny as he was to be by my side. If he could do something as devious as this, who knew what else he was capable of?

" Enough, this topic shall not be discussed anymore, a meeting would be adjourned to discuss that. Anyone caught discussing the issue of a child wouldn't be mercied by the royal family." The king said to silence everyone.

" Father, my wife and I would be in our room, please excuse us," Dav said.

In the next second, he stood me up from my seat and led me out of the throne room. Upon everything that happened, I was very grateful that the Queen and Dav's brothers didn't interfere, else I didn't think we would be able to escape that situation.

Midway through the hallway, I noticed that Leo and Ray had followed us. Seriously, how could Dav still be acquainted with him, especially with what he did in the throne room? Well, I wouldn't allow that.

" Dav, I would like only Leo to be by my side." I stopped in my tracks.

" And why is that?" He asked.

At some point, I had to pierce my pinky finger into my ear to be sure I just heard clearly what Dav had said. What is just my imagination or didn't he witness what Ray tried to do in the throne room? He had tried to suggest that Dav take in another wife while he disposes of me.

" I don't feel comfortable around him, you can bring anyone to take his place. I don't want him close to me. " I repeated.

Dav turned his gaze to Ray and then back to me.

" I will bring another male to guard you but Ray must always be by your side. Please trust me." He said.
