The next day, Isshin went to go visit an acquaintance at a shop. Arriving at his place, he greeted Tessai who was sweeping the floor in front of the entrance before he entered the building. In front of him was Kisuke Urahara, ex-captain of the Soul Society.

"Ah. Isshin," he greeted. "Welcome. Good morning."

"Morning Kisuke. What did you need?"

"Nothing much. I wanted to chat with you about your eldest son."

"Sora?" Isshin asked. "What did he do?"

"He knows." Isshin was silent and he narrowed his eyes at Kisuke.

"...how?"

"The boy figured it all out by himself. I truly underestimated his growth and his level of control over his powers."

"What?" He nearly shouted. "Didn't you say that Sora had normal levels of Spiritual Power? How has that changed?"

"As I said, I underestimated his growth. Did you know that Yoruichi had a hard time even sensing him in the first place?"

"How is that even...?"

"Did you know that he called Hollow Spiritual Power Negative Energy while Quincy Energy as Positive Energy?"

"He...he hasn't mentioned anything of the supernatural since last year."

"Did you know that he can somehow access them both at the same time to create a blurry bow from the necklace he has been given and produces new energy that is most likely constituted from Hollow Spiritual Power?"

"I...didn't know. My powers are returning, albeit a bit slowly. My sensing has been off."

"Oh. Did you know that he calls Hollows Holes and that he has been studying them at night? Plus, he has been escaping them on a nearly daily basis if reports from Yoruichi are any accurate."

"Kisuke. I have no knowledge of any of this. Sora is...a private person," Scratching the back of his head, he continued. "He's been closed off ever since Masaki died."

"I see. Here is the last question. Did you know that your son had fallen into depression for a period of time because he believes himself to be responsible for the murder of Masaki and thinks that you secretly resent him?" Isshin's jaw dropped. "Come in. We have a lot to talk about and tons of future decisions to make."

"Why would he-"

"The mind works in mysterious ways. Perhaps your grief may have come to him as blame." Kisuke turned to him. "Do you blame him? Even for a little bit?"

Isshin thought about it for a while before answering, "Yes. At one point, I was angry at Sora for not using his advantage. But...that was only for a few minutes before I realized that it wasn't his fault. It was the Hollow's!"

"...have you stopped to reconsider Sora's abilities? That he might have more than he lets on or has hidden powers unknown to him?"

"What are you saying?"

"What if Sora can pick up emotions?" he asked, gaining a gasp as an answer. "What if he can read thoughts?"

"He never has-"

"Again. All speculation. Sora, Ichigo, Yuzu, and Karin are the first of their kind. It won't be strange to see unique abilities awakening. So far, Sora has displayed that he can sense danger, hide his presence and Spiritual Power, and materialize a Quincy bow without any prior training by simply using the new energy that does it for him. Need I add more?"

Involuntarily gulping, he began to feel horrible. "What should I do?"

"Have a chat. It's that basic. Also, I was thinking of taking Sora under my tutelage. What's your opinion?"

"No. Absolutely not. It's too dangerous!"

"You prefer him sneaking out and hunting Hollows untrained and unprepared?" retorted Kisuke with a raised brow.

"I hate you."

"That's the spirit." Kisuke laughed behind his fan. "Tell him to come tomorrow."

He rolled his eyes. "Fine."
