Chapter 30:

IVAN'S POINT OF VIEW

I was walking in the hospital corridor when I saw someone familiar pass by me. I know that guy; I know I saw him anywhere. My eyes widen when I remember who he was, and I rush to Sloan's room. When I saw someone on top of Sloan, I knew exactly who it was. I grab Brent and throw him on the couch. I punched him in the face until he threw up blood. He's the guy who got Sloan pregnant. and lives like hell. He makes Sloan live in a nightmare. I can't stop my anger after seeing him.

Security came and pulled me out of his top, and while they helped him stand up, he could still smirk at me after what I did to him. I stood up and fixed myself.

"Call the police; that guy was a rapist, psychopath, and stalker," I told the security guard that he had taken his handcuffs and put them on his wrists. The security guard called the police after he handcuffed Brent.

"Do you think you've already won by putting this on my wrists?" You didn't, and I will be the one who wins at the end of this." Brent said to Sloan that she held her tummy while looking at me. I knew she wasn't okay. I can see it in her eyes. I hugged her while Brent was walking in a different direction. He will be in jail.

Sloan hugged me tight. Seeing her cry while looking at that guy was hard for her. I know it will take time for her to finally move on.

It's been an hour since it passed, but Sloan was just looking out the window. The police messaged me to come into the station, but still, I can't believe no one was there for Sloan. I messaged Kiel already; maybe he was on his way. I hope it was fine for him.

Kiel finally arrived, but he came with someone. I looked at Sloan, and she just nodded at me. Kiel, Sloan, and Odette are in a room. Should I leave? Can I leave her with them?

"Are you okay, Sloan? What happened here, Ivan?"

"Ah, I just left to buy some food in the cafe, but when I was about to leave the hospital, I saw someone familiar pass by and look at me. When I realized who that person was, I immediately ran and went back here. I saw Brent on top of Sloan; I couldn't control myself and pulled him; the next thing I knew, I blacked out my mind."

"Oh, okay, you can go now." Kiel looked at me with satisfaction on his face, pushed me out of the room, and raised his eyebrows at me.

"Since when?" I gave him a confused look at what he said.

"Oh, come on, you know what I'm talking about, Ivan; since when did you know you liked Sloan?" I gulped and turned around.

"Since the day I found myself, I want to take care of her for the rest of my life."

Instead of punching me after he found out, he tapped my shoulder and jumped on my back.

"That's my boy; court her then. I know you like her since I found you staring at her a year ago. Before we went on the tour, at first I wanted to talk to you and tell you to back off, but I realized you didn't do anything for us to be separate; we just didn't work. If I were you, I'd give it a shot before it's too late." The way he said it, I know, as a guy, he moved on. I was right; he moved on from her.

I went to the parking lot and drove through the police station. I don't know what I can do if I see him again; the only thing I know is Sloan.

Executive Producer Elmer Calling

As I answer the phone call.

"Good day, Ivan. Director Steve spoke to me this morning and said he wants to continue the movie, but a different lead actress will star. May I know if you can make an appointment tomorrow morning for this important event? As you know, Kiel projects are still on track."

"I know. Thank you, sir, for this opportunity for Kiel. Don't worry; as soon as I clear his schedule for tomorrow, I'll update you immediately. Thank you."

"No worries; have a great day." The producer hung up the call, and I slowly went to the edge of the road and stopped my car.

I dialed Angela's secretary's phone number.

"Hello, sir Ivan."

"I want to clear Kiel's schedule for tomorrow morning and make a reservation at a restaurant for four people." Including Executive Producer Elmer and Director Steve Piercee, message me once you make the reservation, okay?"

"Noted sir, is that everything I need to do?"

"Yeah."

I started driving, and this time without any interruption, I came to the police station right away. The police officer came to me after seeing me get out of my car.

"Good evening, Mr. Cruz; the suspect still didn't state anything." As we walked into the police station, we went into the interrogation room.

"I've been here for an hour now; you won't get any information from me. I didn't do anything wrong." Brent said that and put his feet on the table. I look at Officer Smith as I nod. He waves at one of his men and assists me when I get in.

"Look who's ass is here." Brent looked up in his chair and looked at me.

"How's your new home? Did you like it here?" I said, and I sat down in the chair in front of him. He laughed as he put his chin on his hand.

"Of course, but you know what I like more here. You came just to see me. Don't worry, in no time we will reunite here inside the cell."

"Tsk, oh, come on. After what you did to Sloan, you'll live here until your last breath drops. I'll make sure of that."

"It seems like you don't know who is in front of you. Even though you successfully put me here, but not for a long time, remember my name. 'Brent Reid owns thousands of bars and clubs, and you know what I can do, right?"

"You know what again? Let me call your dad to know if you're telling the truth." I dialed Mr. Reid's number, and lucky me, I remember getting his number way back a few months ago when we met in a restaurant.

"Hello, Ivan." Brent's eyes widen when he hears his father's voice.

"Hello, Mr. Reid, I just want to ask, "Who owns your bar and clubs again?"

"I own it; why?" I look at him with a smirk.

"I heard from your son a few minutes ago that he owns your bars and club. I just want to clarify. Oh, I forgot to mention him here in the police station after he tried to molest one of our artists."

"That jerk! Don't let him get out; I won't pay for his damages. Let him go to jail! Thank you for telling me, Ivan."

"You're welcome, Mr. Reid, and thank you for your information."

"You!" He stomped his hand on the table and tried to hold me. What a bitter victory for him! Does he think I will forgive him after what he did to Sloan? I grin and stand up; he's mad like a Hulk. Well, who cares? I went out of the interrogation room.

"Since everything was under control, we will update you if we get other information about what Mr. Brent Reid did."

"Thank you." I left the police station and drove back to the hospital. I saw Sloan's doctor about to enter her room.

"Do you have the result, doctor?"

"Yes, Mr. Cruz."

"Can you tell me first? I just want to make sure it won't stress her too much."

"Fine, we found the baby's condition was not on good terms; we need to double take care of her since she is in the second trimester of her pregnancy. If it happens again, it might be dangerous for her and the baby. We even need to give her vitamins and a lot of bed rest."

"Okay, doc, is there anything I need to know?"

"We tested her a while ago; there is force entering her viginal canal. It may not have pursued it; we are lucky it wasn't all in."

"It will affect the baby."

"No, it's not; don't worry, they're still safe. I will get in to explain to the patient everything."

"Okay, doc, thank you. Can you say I wasn't here yet?' Doc nodded and waited for me to walk away before she entered the room.

"What are you doing here, Ivan?" I saw Odette standing behind me.

"Nothing. I just wanted to clear my mind before I went in. Why are you here?"

"I want to buy some soda in the cafe. Sorry, I just thought you would be going back late."

"That's fine; thank you for letting Kiel come here and look after Sloan while I wasn't around."

"To be honest, I am hesitant if we get here. I know what they had in the past, and it can't be removed that they liked each other before we met. I don't even know what will happen if they get back to each other. How about me? But before we went here, Kiel talked to me. I should not overthink. He was over at Sloan, and he loves me. So if you like someone, you should tell her before it's too late."

Odette left me with those thoughts; I should tell her what I feel. I went inside and saw Kiel on the couch while Sloan was watching a drama. I gulped and took a deep breath.

"Oh, Ivan, you're here; you didn't hear what the doctor said."

"Sloan, I have something to tell you."

"What is it?" I look at Kiel, who's giving me a thumbs up.

"I want to be the father of your child." She looked curious and shocked at the same time. She looked at Kiel and nodded our child." She looked curious and shocked at the same time. "Ivan, you're a great man, and I know you will be a great father. I'll accept that." I was frozen for a minute when I realized what she said. I hugged her and kissed her forehead.

"I hope, dude, you will take care of that girl and your baby. If not, I will be the one who will punch you and won't leave you until your last breath."

"I will take care of her." Odette just came in, and Kiel held her waist.

"I think we should leave now so you two can talk more about your future." Kiel teased us and waved at us before they left us.

"Thank you, Sloan, for accepting me. I'll make sure you and our baby are safe. I won't leave my sights on you. After you get pregnant, we will plan our wedding. I want the baby to use my last name."

"Before I discharge tomorrow, can you come to my obgyne, and I will have my ultrasound?" We will know what the baby's gender will be."

"Of course, anything for our baby." I kiss her forehead and tummy. At least, in the end, I finally belong to her, along with our baby. I sit beside her bed while watching her sleep. What a beautiful mother she will be! I held his stomach. To you, baby, I will do anything to protect you and your mom at all costs, in everything I can do.
