Chapter 31:

KIEL'S POINT OF VIEW

I was driving our way back to the condo when I felt Odette was looking at me.

"What's on your mind, my queen?" I said, "Take a look at her," and I returned my sight to the road.

"Why didn't you seem to care when you found out Ivan liked Sloan? Sloan was your ex-girlfriend, while Ivan was your friend."

"To be honest, I know Ivan likes her ever since I found out; I lied when I said I just found out a year ago. Three years ago, when I saw Ivan, the way he touched Sloan, and how he took care of her when I was busy with my shoots, I knew he always wanted her by his side. I know I was pathetic when I found out that time. I didn't confront him and told him to stay away from Sloan. But instead, I made the biggest regret: I chose to make them get closer. I don't know why, but when I see Sloan's eye looking at me, it is not the same as when we were just a new couple, and I saw it the way she used to look at Ivan. Maybe that's one of the reasons I was able to easily forget her in such a short time. Because I knew I wasn't the guy he liked. And it's fine with me; at least I can see they find each other."

"You are still considering their feelings before what you feel. What if you see me looking at another guy the way I look at you now? Will you do the same thing you did to Sloan? Or you will fight for me?"

"No matter what happens and what it will cost, I will fight for you. But if I see you happier with him, why not? I will fight for you." But if I see you happier with him, why not? In the end, your happiness is what's more important to me. I don't care about my feelings anymore; I will forget and set aside everything when it comes to you. By the way, my queen, tomorrow morning I have a meeting with the executive producer and the director of my movie, so maybe I left the house early. Is it okay with you?"

"Of course, no worries, okay? I also have things to do tomorrow for Daniel and Yie's Shopify presentation."

"What did you say again?" I asked Odette to repeat what she said. Am I hearing that right, Yie Shopify?

"I will do a presentation for Daniel and Yie Shopify." I heard they have beads for their upcoming project. Dad told me to make a presentation to get that project. "Yie Shopify? That's the company Sloan told me I should avoid. Should I tell Odette about it?

"Are you sure about that project? You should think twice before you do a presentation for them. What if they just use that so-called project for other purposes, right?" Odette looks at me confused.

"Is there any problem with that? I don't see any problem with accepting to make a presentation for Daniel and Yie Shopify."

"There is no problem if you do the presentation with Daniel; I just don't want to give him a chance to continue what he was planning. Remember last time he called you just like a maniac?" I don't want anything to happen to you. And about Yie Shopify, I heard from Sloan that Brent owns it. What if he gets back to you? I don't know what to do if something happens to you, my queen. I will curse myself if that happens." I held her hand tightly.

"Nothing will happen to me; trust me, okay?" She kissed me on the cheek while holding my hand. I drove into the parking lot while she fell asleep. I slowly remove her hands and open my car door.

I gently carry her in my arms; she seems pretty tired from what she did earlier. I smile when I see her face close to mine. Even though she was sleeping, she still looked like an angel sent from above. While walking along the pathway on the way to the elevator. A lot of guests and staff were looking at us; some of them took photos of us. I don't care about it as long as the girl I was carrying was Odette.

I remember before someone asked me why I never hide myself in a cap, mask, and sunglasses, or even disguise myself so no one can recognize me.

I just don't care what people say if they see a picture of me doing such normal stuff. I live for myself, not for what other people say. I'm still a human and not a robot that should be controlled by anyone. That's why I choose to not disguise myself and live freely. I don't care anymore about my image.

The elevator opens on our floor; I turn right and put in her code as I open the door. I can feel her breath on my neck as she turns her head toward mine. Fuck, I shouldn't get seduced. I immediately went into her condo and put her down on her bed. I place a blanket on her and watch her sleep.

"Maybe God sent me a guardian angel who looked after me when I was sleeping." She slowly opened her eyes and looked at me.

"Stop staring at me." But I smiled and moved my face closer to her. I can see how she blushes, and her eyes can't look straight into me.

"You're beautiful, my queen, as always. I can't let go of my sight looking at you; we should be preparing the wedding so when the time comes for you to be my wife, I don't need to go in your condo; instead, we live under the same roof, and I can be with you 24/7."

"I thought I was the one sleeping, but you're dreaming already."

"I'm not dreaming; I'm stating the facts once we got married. I will be by your side every time I go home from work; you will be the last person I see, and you will be the first person I see when I wake up. That was a fact, okay?" I hug her tight and place her head on my chest.

"I can hear your heartbeat fast; it seems it's getting tense because of me." She laughed and hugged me tightly. I need to protect you at all costs, my queen. You still don't know who I truly am, and I'm scared to lose you when you find out.

"My heart only knows one name." She looked up at me with a frown. I flicked her nose.

"Of course your name; who's name do you think my heart knows? Tsk!" She chuckled and shook her head.

"You know what? We should just sleep. You're having hallucinations, you know that." She turned around and ignored me. I hugged her and put my face against her shoulder. I close my eyes and fall asleep beside this woman.

I woke up in the middle of the night, slowly got up from the bed, and went to the kitchen. I get a bottle of water.

"What are you doing, Kiel?" I almost burst into tears when Odette suddenly came into the kitchen.

"Sorry, my queen, I just feel thirsty. You can go back to bed now; I'll be there in a minute. I just finished drinking." I said. She rubbed her eyes and turned around. I look at the clock; it's already four in the morning. I think I can cook for her. But that baby, I will miss maybe a few minutes more. I put down the bottle and went back to the room. As I hugged her tight, she held my hand. I smiled and kissed her cheeks.

I felt the sunlight touching my skin. I open my eyes and get up. I went to the kitchen and started preparing for breakfast. The first meal I make is "egg-stuffed bacon and cheese muffins'. I put the bacon in a large pan and placed it on medium heat.

Once it is golden brown, I place it on a plate with a paper towel and set it aside in the meantime. Meanwhile, I place a large saucepan of water over medium-high heat to boil. Gently lower six eggs into the water. After five minutes, I transferred it to an ice bath and let it cool for fifteen minutes.

While waiting, I make the cold-brew iced coffee. I put the coffee beans in the grinder, cut a six-by-six double thickness of cheesecloth, and put the coffee in the middle, tight up. I put the sachet in a jar and put two spoonsful of it into a cup. I pour hot water over it to dissolve the coffee before I add milk to it. I set it aside and finished my egg-stuffed bacon and cheese muffins by baking them.

I took an avocado for my avocado toast and mashed it with pork to make it chunky. While toasting the bread until it gets brown and crisp, I rub a side of each slice with garlic to make it fragrant. I lightly brush the toast with oil and season it with salt and paper.

I put avocado on top of the toast, spread it, and placed all the toast on a plate. I get the food tray and put the plate of avocado toast and a cup of cold-brewed iced coffee on it. While waiting for the muffins to cook.

When it finally cooks, I get three pieces of muffins, place them on a plate, and put them on the tray. I went back into the room and placed myself at the side table. I grabbed a sticky note and a pen, and I wrote.

'Good morning, my queen. Have a great day by starting to eat the food I prepare for the only girl I love.' I put a kissing emoticon on it and placed the sticky note in the cup. I kissed her forehead, went to the kitchen, and took a bite before I washed all the utensils I used before I went back to my condo.

Time passed by, and after taking a bath, I took off my gray trousers pants and a blue loose-fitting long-sleeve shirt. I tack my long sleeve into my pants and wear my Omega Globemaster co-axial master watch.

I sprayed perfume and grabbed my phone and car keys before I left my condo.

Time passed, and I was driving out of the parking lot when I saw Odette just get into her car. She seemed happy; her smile was from ear to ear. I hope she likes what I cook for her. I didn't notice myself; I was smiling while driving to the 'Black Pearl Restaurant'. I park my car outside the restaurant and step out of it. People surrounded me easily while I was walking into the restaurant. Securities surround me, but I reject them.

My fans are the reason I'm here. I faced them and took some poses for their shot before I went in. I waved at them and flung a kiss at them. I saw Ivan shaking his head while looking at me.

"You never fail me; seeing how people notice you easily don't bother you. You're still enjoying the way they praise you. Your feet remain on the ground." He taps my shoulder and sits. I sat beside him and waited until the director and executive producer came.

Finally, they arrived with a girl beside the director. I get up and shake their hands.

"Kiel, this is Sandra; I know you know who she is." I smiled and shook her hands.

"I know how I can forget this girl; nice to see you again, Sandra."

"Nice to meet you; it's been a year since the last time I saw you with my sister."

"We became busy with our projects, which is why I didn't come to your house."

"Since you guys know each other, it will be easy for you guys to work together. Kiel, Sandra will replace Zafira as your leading lady in your upcoming movie."

"Looking forward to working with you, Sandra Payne."
