Chapter 110 Tribes (2)

Hu'er's attention went to the flute. There are different designs. She took it and admired the design. Went to another one and saw it was also different. The flute is carved with beautiful flowers and bamboo.

Min He finally saw the information about it, "Those are called wind instruments. They are from the Panda Tribe. They rarely use those. It's just for entertainment. They prefer eating the bamboo."

Qiang Li added, "That's the only thing we could get."

Hu'er nodded and was about to try to blow the flute. "Don't!" Yun He took the flute away from her. Hu'er looks at him, shocked.

"We will wash it thoroughly first." Yun He remembered how the Panda beastman blew on the flute. He didn't know if the flute was really unused or if they secretly blew on it without their notice.

"The drums will be cleaned and wiped first. The flute…" Jia Ting frowned. He didn't know if the Panda Tribe tricked them. They know it is for a female too.

"I'll just make one or teach Shun Su or Jiu Lin how to make one. I need that to copy the flute," Jiu Se immediately stepped up and took the flute to Yun He's hand. Yun He sighed in relief and nodded.

Jiu Se remembered that his friend who made some flute would blow on it to try and see if the tone was right. Jiu Se decided to do it himself and let Hu'er blow on it or teach the two. They will be her mates anyway.

Before Shun Su could speak, Jia Ling nodded and volunteered, "I'll ask Dad to teach me then."

"I—," Shun Su was about to say he can do it too, but Jiu Lin looked at him.

"You are busy already. Let me do it." Jiu Lin didn't give him a way to complain.

Jiu Lin was right after all. Shun Su still needs to go later and recheck the stocks from the Spring Hunting Season. He can only agree with Jiu Lin.

To change the subject Fang Shou said, "I and Bao Hu went to Lemur Tribe. According to them, there are also string instruments but they only have one of them."

"How can we get some?" Jiu Hu asked. He could see how interested Hu'er is when she heard string instruments.

Bao Hu shook his head, "We will need to go to Aquatic Tribes for it."

"Aquatic Tribes?" Hu'er looks at them, puzzled. She has never heard them say it. Hu'er has an idea though, from the word aquatic.

Min He was the one who explained what aquatic tribes are. "Those are the tribes that live in the water. They have wind and string instruments. We can go there next season if you want."

Hu'er eyes shined them it dimmed. "How to get there though?" she muttered. 

"We just need a twenty-day rush to get there." Jia Ting answered.

Jia Ting had visited some Aquatic Tribes when he was a cub. He could still remember his father letting him ride his back so they could go there much earlier.

They rushed for twenty days, avoiding wild animals, and just kept on running. As far as Jia Ting could remember his father has a cousin, a female, there that has a very close relationship with them.

It is also why he wasn't against going there. He might be able to visit his Aunt. It's been so many seasons since he last saw her.

Hu'er thought about it and decided, "There's no need then. These things are enough for me. I'm already happy with these. Thank you, Daddies!"

Jia Ting knows what she's worried about so he said, "We can go there. It's just for a few days."

Hu'er pouts, "Why go so far? What if something happens? Those are just instruments. You guys are my Family. You are much more important than those things."

"It's great that you think of us more. But it's alright. We might really need to go there." Fang Shou satisfying smiles.

Fang Shou and Bao Hu weren't really close with Hu'er like she is to Jiu Hu, Jia Ting, Min He, and the rest. It is all because of their profession. They like guarding and patrolling the vicinity of the Tribe. It is the reason why they don't appear much to Hu'er's side.

Bao Hu agreed, "Yes. It's been ten whole seasons since we haven't gone there to get some salt and other sea wild animals. We could raise and breed some when the time comes."

Bao Hu was the second youngest of Hu'er's Daddies. He looks much younger than Jia Ting.

He is that beastman who loves telling stories to Hu'er when she was little. He stopped doing so when Hu'er finally survived the second winter.

The story he has been telling back then is his journey when they travel to Aquatic Tribe and other far away Tribes.

"The Tribe do have the plan to send beastmen for a trade to Aquatic Tribes. We need their salt. The Lemur Tribe didn't have any extra to do some salt trade," Mo Qixi added. He stretched out his arms and yawned.

"Is that the reason why you guys went to Lemur Tribe?" Hu'er asked.

Fang Shou nods, "Yes. Eight Patrols went to Lemur Tribe and other Tribes to see if they had extra salt. Yet none of them have it. It seems like the Aquatic Tribe didn't give them any supply last whole season and until this season."

"Okay. Let's stop talking about this. Those who need to rest, go and rest. Those who need to work must go to work. Do whatever you need to do. I and the rest who don't have anything to do, let's wipe the drums clean so Hu'er can play with them," Jiu Hu dismissed them. They all went their own way after saying goodbye to Hu'er.

Jia Ting looks at Hu'er. "Hu'er, go up first and clean up." She nodded and did what he told her. Jiu Lin and Ke Rin followed her.

"Hu'er are you okay?" Jiu Lin asked as soon as they went into the room.

She snaps out and blinks. "Hmm? Oh. I suddenly feel like Aquatic Tribes are familiar."
