Chapter 109 Tribes

Jiu Hu saw how Hu'er took her things excitedly. "What are those for?"

"To take notes," she answered without looking at him.

"Notes? For the instruments?" Jiu Hu thought Hu'er wants to take notes about what is the instrument that they brought and paint it in her notebook.

Although Jiu Hu never saw what Hu'er is painting these days, he knew that she likes to paint.

He did try to see what is, Hu'er is just so protective of it. She never wanted them to see what it was. Telling them it is her own secret and the only one who is allowed to see it is her mates. So they let her be.

They gave her space and never went into the room to guard. If they want to go in, knocking first and waiting for her response is a must.

Hu'er was happy with it and felt they did great.

"Yes. Dada knows what instrument now?" She looks at her Dada and blinks.

He chuckles, "Yes. I've read it in a book. I also heard it from your Daddies."

After Hu'er told her about it, he asked Min He if there was such a book and looked for it. There is indeed but the information is too little to understand what an instrument really is.

He then asked Jia Ting about it when they went back. Jia Ting informed him that those things that made weird sounds are called instruments by other tribes.

Those things also have names. Names that they don't understand. They just wrote it for Hu'er.

"Did Dada go with Daddy Jia Ting and the rest?" Hu'er went back to look for another book, suited for taking notes.

"Well… We went hunting for a while. We saw your Daddy Jia Ting on the way to Panda Tribe. Some went with them, the others stayed to hunt, and I and three of your Daddies went to Lemur Tribe," Jiu Hu took the things on Hu'er's hand to let her look for the book freely.

"Thank you. Lemur Tribe have instrument too?" She then finally saw the book that she recently made. There are painting on the cover, a girl standing on a dagu.

"The Monkey Tribe said that Lemur Tribe has an instrument." Before Hu'er could ask him again, her ears twitched. Someone is going upstairs.

They both stopped conversing and saw Jiu Se come up. He looks at Hu'er who is holding some things. "You can go down now."

Hu'er beamed. "Yes!" She sees it is her Daddy Hunk and grins at him. "Daddy, your back."

Jiu Se smiles gently. He nods and lay his hands out, "Let me hold that."

She didn't fight for it and just gave her things to her Daddy. "Thank you." Then she starts running downstairs in happiness.

"Don't run!" Jiu Hu immediately followed her.

Jiu Se followed them closely. He felt good. He did well this time and learned how to make those instruments. Looking at how Hu'er reacted, she would for sure be happy if she knows he learned to make the instruments.

"Sorry!" Hu'er yelled and saw Jia Ting standing there, watching her.

She slowly approaches him and smiles innocently. Hu'er didn't want to be scolded. Her brothers and future mates have told her that Jia Ting would reprimand them from time to time when they made mistakes, he is very strict.

Jia Ting sighs helplessly and taps her head. He knows how she's been waiting for this moment. It's just lucky that they decided not to let their students in to help them out. Also, Jia Ting didn't want to affect Hu'er's happiness and excitement today so he just let it be.

"Hu'er." Qiang Li came out to the room where they put all the instruments they brought. Following him are all Hu'er's Daddies that went out for Spring Hunting Season.

"Daddies!" Hu'er waved at them happily. Then remembered that they just got home. "Is everyone here? Did you guys rest? Ate? No wounds?" She worriedly looks at them. Seeing that they are still smiling, then it should be fine.

Jiu Hu answers her, "Everyone is fine, we already ate and are well rested. Some got injured but it's just a skin injury."

Qiang Li stepped up and showed her his wound, "This is the worst one."

Hu'er understood and nodded, "Then, make sure to heal up."

Jiu Hu went to her, "Alright, don't worry about us. We're all grown up. We will make sure to take care of ourselves so you should too. Don't run like that again, especially on stairs."

"Yes, I promise." Hu'er looks very obedient, she even smiles so brightly.

Shui Lan just got out of the room. He was smiling and happily said, "The things are ready inside. Do you want to go in and see?"

"Yes!" She eagerly nods and looks at the room. She could see some stuff inside. It looks like they got a lot.

Yun He chuckles and steps out of the way, "Then, come in." And so she did.

'It is Dagu!!!' Hu'er nearly ran towards the instruments but remembered their words. She restrained herself and walked towards it with her eyes shining.

"There are exactly fifteen drums here and other percussion instruments," Min He informed her. He is holding a stack of papers.

Hu'er looks at him, confused. "Drums? Percussion?"

Min He nodded. He went through the papers. "Yes. They call it drums. A percussion instrument is a thing that will make a sound when being struck. They have different names. I will give it to you later once I have compiled it into a book."

She beamed. "Okay! Thank you Daddy Min He."

'Will it have the same sound?' She tapped some drums, 'Although, it's not… They have different sounds but I can get used to it.'

Min He continues, "The drums came from Monkey Tribe. They use these when they welcome females, have occasion, and the like. The others came from other tribes."

Hu'er nodded at him, still occupied with the drums. Tapping it all. 'It might be because it is really not dagu, the materials are also different. Another one is…'

She inspected it and finally concluded, 'The size definitely matters.'
