Being Followed

Ben: So when did the problem start?

Tina: Yesterday. I switched it on to see the morning news, but it didn't turn on. I tried everything but nothing is working. It's like it's broken or something, although yesterday it worked just fine.

Ben: Hmm.

Tina: So you better take it for maintenance or something.

Ben: No. don't worry ma'am. There is no need for that. They have sent their best man for this job. I'll fix it right here.

Tina: What? Right here. But you only brought a toolbox. How do you even know what's the problem?

Ben: As I told you, ma'am, they have sent their best man. I can fix it here only. If you have any problem, you can call the office to confirm.

Tina: No. It's alright.

Ben: So where is it?

Tina: It's in the bedroom.

Ben: Alright, but if you don't mind, I actually work best when alone. If you don't mind?

Tina: Alright, sure.

Ben closes the door of the bedroom

Ben: (wow! She is so beautiful. She is probably my age. But I should concentrate on work.

Ben opens his toolbox, takes out a sandwich, and starts eating it. After a while, when he finishes his sandwich, he turns into Upgrade, attaches itself to the TV, and fixes it in seconds.

Ben: Hmm. It's done. Now to waste some more time.

After wasting 5 more minutes he finally opens the door.

Ben: It's fixed.

Tina: Really! So fast?

Ben: Told you. They send their best man.

After the payment was done he reported back to the office. The rest of the day went pretty normally. In the evening when he was roaming the streets, alone, he felt that someone was following him. He felt uneasy.

Ben: (Why do I feel like someone is following me?)

Suddenly the time around him stopped. The Omnitrix was glowing.

Ben: I can use Clockwork to see how many are there.

He fused Clockwork and XLR8 and used their abilities while being Ben to keep the time frozen while traveling super fast.

He searched around him and found around 5 men following him, all armed.

Ben: Who are these guys?

He quickly knocked them all out, returned to his place, and turned back the time normal. Nothing happened after that. He returned home.

Ben: Who were those guys and why were they following me? I've been careful while fighting criminals that I don't reveal my true form to them so how can anyone know who I am? Or were they following me for some other reason? Anyways I better be careful from now on.

The next day was also very normal though Ben was very cautious throughout the day. In the evening he was again walking down the same road he was being followed on yesterday. He again made sure that no one was following him. Things went normal again for a few days. Then one day, when he was walking beside a playground, he noticed that there was nobody on the road or the playground. He was the only one there. Before he could do something, he saw a man in a suit walking towards him. And soon he saw men, a large number of men, all armed walking towards him in defensive positions.

Man in suit: Ben Tennyson. We want you to come quietly with us. We don't want any inconvenience.

Ben: And who are you?

Man in suit: Just a guy with some questions.

Ben: You brought a lot of people for your questions I see. Anyways I don't seem to be the guy with your answers.

Man in suit: Actually you are the only one who can answer our questions. I'm not going to waste any more time. We know what you have been doing all this time. We know you turn into different creatures at night. We want to know about that alien device so we will like you if you quietly came with us.

Ben: (How can they? Anyways I'm not going to get caught in their trap) I'm sorry but I don't understand what you are talking about. You've got the wrong man.

Man in suit: Take him.

At his orders, all the soldiers started to move toward Ben pointing guns at him.

Ben: (Alright.)...(Huh? Why hasn't the time stopped.)

Ben tried to stop the time using Clockwork's powers but it didn't work.

Ben: (I've done that before with ease. Why isn't it working? Are you saying… Are you kidding me? You have locked Clockwork too. That means the Omnitrix is slowly locking down my aliens. I'm left with no choice.) Alright. You got me. I don't know how. But don't think I'll fall into your trap. I'm not coming with you.
