Chapter 5 Her Guardians, the Eagle tribe.

After the heart felt meal, Sydney felt drowsy and soon sleep caught up to her. Being the lazy bones she was, she immediately fell asleep shocking Caden who had silently been watching her eat delightedly. It was the emotional fatigue that finally hit her, Sydney who never anticipated being swept away by a tornado had endured what no man would while in there and the worst part is that she had been conscious all throughout the rollercoaster tornado ride.

Now that her hunger had been sated, a nice rest was all she required so that she could digest information on where she was. Caden was pleased to see that the female was comfortable enough to sleep in his presence, her small face was peaceful as she let out short but peaceful breathes. He felt accomplished for some reason.

He sensed someone outside the curtains and he turned sharply. They were going to wake her up if they burged in here like that. Taking another piece of animal skin, he covered the female's small body and looked at her one last time before he stepped out.

"She's resting." he informed Shawn who had been outside. The blind beastman sighed audibly, he knew it was inherent for males to gently handle females but the young prince had just come of age and wasn't familiar with how females were handled. I'll keep guard here. Since she's familiar with you, I'll call you once she wakes up lest I startle her." Shaw said softly.

Caden looked at the white eyes of Shawn and nodded. He was glad Shawn was acknowledging the fact that the eagle tribe had guardianship over the female since they found her first. Turning to the hallway, Caden walked over to find the chiefs patiently waiting for him to return.

"How's she?!" the fox king asked.

"She's resting after her meal." Caden informed them and they still looked at him for more information with looks that said 'just that?' Clearing his throat, he added. " Her name is Sydney, the rest shall be evaluated by you when you meet her."

"Since her guardianship is under the eagle tribe, is Prince Caden going to ask to be her mate?!" The Tiger king asked.

Everyone looked at him. "My king doesn't have a mate...it's better suitable if he's the one to become her mate. I'm still lacking in alot of fields..the female might be disappointed in my performances in looking after her." Caden said and looked at the current eagle King who was his uncle, his father's brother.

Eagle King Carlos looked at his nephew with a soft frown. "I'm too old to find a mate already Caden. Your grown up already...if you find a mate, then I can expect some hatchlings this year. Don't be haste and ask the female when she wakes up." he lightly scolded the young eagle he has taken care of since he was inside his egg.

"Eagle King ...you've been selfless all these years...Prince Caden is right,you should find a mate for yourself!" The lion king spoke up seeing his friend's state.

Seeing the concerned looks directed his way, Carlos laughed but that was cue to everyone who was familiar to him not to push the matter. This was the life he had chosen!

After her short nap, Sydney woke up to an empty room, she frowned not seeing Caden around but was glad he wasn't a creep who watched people sleep. She threw the animal skin off her body and walked over to the entrance., flipping the curtain out of the way, she first peeped to see if there was anyone outside her room but there wasn't a single soul. She smiled and stepped out.

Shawn on the other hand felt the female leave the room and since she didn't see him in her room, he chose not to disturb her and just silently see what she would do. Her scent was extremely intoxicating, she smelt so sweet and divine that even he a blind beastman could deduce that she must he pretty. More so, with the fact that she was gifted by the gods...he cursed his inability to see as he too wished to witness such a moment.

Sydney who intended to walk around without being noticed lost track of her sense of security and continued to walk around in awe, the plain stone walls had scrapes that seemed to have been inflicted by something very strong...claws marked the smooth walls giving off a majestic impression. She wondered how these people managed to get such high walls placed here. Lost in her thoughts, she didn't notice that she had walked into the hall where the kings were discussing the city's matters as they awaited their Lord.

The king's who had been in a heated discussion against the witch master who wanted to keep the female stopped their talks when a clean and refreshing scent filled the room, although most here already had their own females, this scent was intoxicatingly dangerous. Before long, the owner of the scent walked in and the Eagle king was the first to hold his breathe looking at the female in the room. Fire red wavy hair against the soft looking white skin stood out, like a goddess walking in, her gaze was lost but enthralling as she looked at the tall stone walls. Her slender arms looked so frail and her delicate small waist made him draw in a sharp breathe. He wanted to touch her waist and wrap her in his arms!

Feeling heated gazes directed her way, Sydney snapped from her day dream and looked at the small crowd of only men in the large room looking at her. Surprised by their presence, her eyes widened adorably. Sydney's eyes scanned amongst the equally very handsome men who looked like they were in the middle of a meeting.

Their ages seemed to also be around mid thirties but none of them had a single wrinkle on their faces....wait..are those ears?!! She was surprised to see that some of the men here had ears ontop of their heads and as if that wasn't enough, she begun to notice tails!!!!!!????

She swallowed a lump and unconsciously took two steps back, biting at her lower lip, her heart thundered against her ribcage in fast beats...these...these people...they....she looked at them and noticed a familiar face. "Caden...". she called in a whisper her eyes trained on him.

Hearing her call his name with fear laced in her voice, Caden stopped forward and rushed to Sydney's side with worry. She seemed fine when he left earlier....what was happening all of a sudden?!

Clasping at his animal skin skirt, Caden's face burned red feeling her small hands on him. "They...they have ears and tails!" she mumbled softly but everyone in the room heard her.

Initially when she backed away in what seemed like fear, dread washed away their fascination at her beauty and were racking their brains on how to calm her down. As the gods sent gift, she needed to be treated with care so as not to invoke the gods anger. Even if that weren't the case, as a female, they were all treasured and immensely protected by all the males. Females were already rare and getting more scarce with years so they were treasured. They were glad to see that she trusted the eagle prince and seemed to rely on him but upon hearing the reason for her sudden fear, they were flabbergasted. Because of their tails and ears!!!

"It was what I was going to explain to you earlier." Caden said looking at her softly.

"Is everyone here like that?!" Sydney asked her eyes glimmering and her initial shock and fear dispitating into nothingness.

For some reason, Caden felt wary, not in a bad way but the glimmer in her eyes was mischievous? He wasn't sure as he didn't know how to read females well. But he answered her anyway. "Some have tails and ears, they are the carnivorous land beastmen, others fly, the sky beastmen like me, some are herbivore land beastmen and the sea beastmen. There are the cold blooded beastmen too." he explained in the simplest way he could.
