Beauty's Beasts

"Do females fly??" "What?!!! I've never seen one." Parrick said with a frown. "Then why...." he said nonchalantly pointing to the sky where a female was descending at a super sonic speed with a loud scream on the top of her lungs. Parrick gaped at the sky in disbelief. The female clearly had no wings...so how come she was up there! Also...there were no flying beastmen settlements from where the female came from!!! "Ahhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!" the female screamed falling from such a high altitude and her scream died down the next minute. "My Lord ...we didn't save her!!!!!" Parrick gaped in utter shock and disbelief. "Her scream surely attracted a number of other males. They'll go rescue her...and you too can go if you badly want to." "Huh!!!!!" Parrick was dumbfounded. "Look!" he said and indeed a group of flying beastmen and other land beastmen were sprinting to the direction the female had fall in. Sydney is swept away by a tornado and is thrown into a different space. She's confused as to why she came to this weird world but she accepts her fate. The people here are half human half beasts and despite being an independent woman back on earth, here she needs a male to survive but not just one.... multiple males. -One male is younger than her -The other is literally a walking legend -Another is venomous, even from mere skin contact. -The other is a hard specimen to understand -Her last male is a walking disaster! Chapter 24 Promise

Ken ran off to a distance away from everyone. He snickered at his pathetic expectations, what was he thinking? That she'd acknowledge him as a person and open up to him? Allow him into her family like she easily did with Shawn?!

What was he lacking that he was being sidelined like this?! He was handsome, strong, had a good reputation, over ceeded in rank from beastmen his age...damn...some were even still struggling to get past the second rank while he was a fifth rank beastman!

In playing favourites, he had to be the most acknowledged of all her pursuers but that hadn't been happening. He was not allowed to sleep in the same room as her nor was allowed to hunt food for her. His spot was outside of her life.

When she laughed it wasn't for him, when she slept it wasn't besides him, when she was provided for, it wasn't by him!!!! His heart felt bitter but it was saddening that it was the more he fell for her.

He looked down at the water stream flowing just where he stood just in time to see his reflection. Love sick fool!!! He sat onto the ground with his wolf butt and contemplated in how to win a spot by her side. He was hurt by her rejections towards him but he wasn't going to back down. He vowed to continue to pursue her untill she grew tired and accepted him!

His stubborn brown eyes flickered defiantly. He was a wolf Prince.....this little set back wasn't allowed to drain him!

At the city hall.

All the lords had gathered to discuss the latest battle that was engaged in by a few beastmen and also victorious without any deaths from their side. It was amazing and shocking at the same time since it was the first time in history.

Ash stood at the top most front of the hall and let everyone murmur to their hearts content He was usually patient with such seatings but now, all he could think of was crawling back all the way to his friend who was on house quarantine to rest. He wanted to be as close and possible!

"Our city Lord is indeed worth of his title! He's very smart!"

"As expected of our leader! He hasn't fallen behind from his parents achievements!"

Stop with the baseless praises!" Ash's low but cold voice. Standing at 6'3ft, Ash stood as the epitome of masculinity. His hair as ink black was tied in a low pony tail, his sharp jaw, deep emerald eyes and sharp pointed nose would leave an ever lasting impression on a person. He was a force to be reckoned and everytime he shifted from his predatory beast from to a human, it was like they were seeing him for the first time everytime.

This time however was a whole lot different..his normally cold countance was soft, like he had encountered a major change in this previous days, like his life had finally found the purpose of his breathe....he was looking youthful that he was but was burning with vitality.

He would always remain in his beast form during the meetings and when everyone had exhausted what they had to say, he'd nod if he agreed or storm out if uninterested and roam the whole beast city.

"I'm not the one who planned this battle!" Beastmen had one trait that most people lacked... honesty. They never lied, never took credit for things they didn't do. It was deep-rooted in their bones that they even did it without realising. "Sy....the female sent from the sky is the one who saved the city and all its inhabitants. She risked her own safety and battled to ensure that no one was harmed." his gaze scrutinized all the present beast kings whose mouths were twitching in disbelief.

IMPOSSIBLE!!!!!! It was clearly written on their faces but no one spoke a word against it. Ash could see that they didn't take his word for it, he was deeply disappointed. " You seem to take me for a liar..." he sneered and all the other kinds shook their heads.

"No our Lord!"

"We believe you!"

"It's just hard to believe but we believe you!"

"Yes...this is the first time in history!"

The witch master was right.....we have been blessed!"

"She's our city's female, she deserves to be well protected!"

"Our tribes will forever remain indebted to her!"

"She's well deserving of respect and praise!" Every king chimed in praises to wipe the scowl that was gracing their lord's face. They needed him here like the air they breathed! Angering him or speaking against him was to their disadvantage.

"I hope to hold you up to your word a few days from now. Show your sincerity in a more believable manner." he reprimanded them sternly and everyone nodded their heads. They understood since a fire banquet was under way and the female would officially be welcomed into the city. They had all seen her but never expected her to be this smart! Every king was in their toes impatiently waiting to go and force their sons to pursue this female

All kings oresin the room were 7th rank beastmen and they were already in their old ages yet the young and youthful lord was only in his thirties and was already close to that rank of immortal! They never dared to go against him. They had watched him grow and with little to no effort, he had blossomed to such a rank! No wonder his father the former city lord who was an eighth rank beastman stepped down when his son just turned 20 years.

Having Ash as the lord had warded off a lot of threats from their settlement, attracted more beastmen to settle in the city to produce the strong city that had! With his presence, even the cold blooded beastmen who were regarded as the most heartless and ruthless were always in check knowing this city lord was close to becoming an immortal...they dared not act impudently.

Sydney's room in the city Hall.

Bundled up like a roll of bread, Sydney glared at the males who seemed oblivious of her death glares. She had barely done anything during the fight but here she was being forced to rest. After having been stuffed to the brim with a bowl of nutritious food(meat) cooked in all sorts of herbs, she was sternly told to rest when all she wanted was to be present at the king's meeting. She wanted to know what those old men were talking about and if they were happy with her contribution to the battle.

"I'm going to wrap an animal skin around your eyes if you don't be nice and sleep!" Caden threatened softly. Of course he wouldn't do something so inhumane to her but his female was so stubborn that he was forced to resort to soft threats.

"But I'm not sleepy! I want to attend the meeting! I want to know what they are saying!!!!" she whined.

"Don't argue Sydney! I'm sure you'll be praised by the other kings soon!" Shawn soothed her soft red locks. He and Caden had showered her with praises but those didn't seem enough. She such a greedy little female....his silly little greedy female! From where he was, he could hear everything he needed to but he didn't wish to ruin her surprise on her welcome fire banquet.

"Are you sure you can't hear what they are saying?!" Sydney pried for the twentieth time. She believed Shawn could hear something..his hearing sense was a lot more sensitive she could tell!

Caden had acknowledged her fighting skills but he didn't want to encourage her too much into it. Beasts were beasts after all. She was formidable enough to pass a third rank beastman but it had been a deadly gamble he was beating himself up over even as he sat in the same room as her and was sure she was fine. She had the upper hand for looking beautiful and frail which would only drive any beastman, normal or stray, even those rogues....to want to protect her but that didn't mean that their overwhelming emotions could do much more worse that good and that's where all went wrong.

Luckily, they had eliminated the closets colony of strays near their city and ensured that no stray survived but if word got out on how amazing she was a god sent female, other strays in the furthest colonies would do their utmost best to snatch her but he didn't intend to let that happen. As her first male, he planned to keep a low profile with her and ensure that everyone who joined their family upheld the same principle.

Hearing her soft voice persuading Shawn to give into her, he have off a hostile aura that drew Shawn's attention. It was a warning for him not to give into her.

"Sleep Sydney. I'll tell you what I've heard if you obediently rest!" Shawn understood the assignment and buckled up his resolve.

"Promise?!" Sydney who was rolled over in the thick animal skin her hairs falling unruly over her face raised a brow at him but soon chided herself because he could see her..If inky he could see... she'd guilt trip him with her eyes. Caden wasn't a choice since his eyes were a little too sharp for her to intimidate him. She'd suffer terribly if she dared a stare show down with him.

"I promise!" Shawn made and oath to himself.
