Chapter 10. Disabled male.

Males were inherently possessive of their found females and all had been but tales Caden over heard not until he was actually in that spot. But he knew better not to act harshly towards Sydney's pursuers as he was the one holding onto the loose end of the string.

After showing her around the eagle castle, they walked out to go and meet with Shawn. Poor guy had been stopped from entering into the premises and despite having informed them that he was with their Prince, they denied him entry since Caden said nothing to them about letting Shawn inside when he flew by earlier.

With no choice, he had shifted into his wolf form and vented all his anger by digging a huge ditch near the territory as he waited.

"Shawn!!" Sydney called out and ran over to him. "Why are you out here? Why didn't you come in! Have you seen the eagle tribe...it's majestic from the inside!!" she asked his condition but immediately chripped away about what she had seen.

Caden caught up to them and this time round, Sydney rode on the wolf's back..All these experiences were just out of the world that she couldn't help smiling. By the time they were walking into the center of the city, a considerable amount of females were up and about and well, Sydney was at the center of attention not only from the love sick males but the curious and equally envious females. Envy because Caden was taken and curious about this god sent female. What was so special about her? Wasn't she only thrown away by her kind?

Indeed she was beautiful with fire red hairs and forest green eyes. Her skin looked soft and was fair too, talk about her smile that was like a sun of its own!

Sydney on the other hand had stopped being talkative and was sporting a kind smile to everyone. Caden told her of how everyone knew about her and were eager to see her. "Wow..they are so enthusiastic!" she muttered awkwardly. She had never experienced such attention before as she made sure to be as invincible as possible!

"Don't mind them." Caden gently rubbed her hair with a soft smile noticing her slight discomfort. Shawn on the other hand had his head raised with pride rambling through his blind eyes as the act of Sydney riding on his back was already considered an intimate act which solidified his position.

"Hey..isn't that the blind beastman.... why's he with a female??" one male asked his voice loud that even Sydney heard him.

"He is the one who looks after the females who are bought from the tribes out of the city. I'm sure he's only taking her around...I bet my prey for today that a female as beautiful as her couldn't take in a blind male. He'd be a burden to her family!" the other sneered.

Hearing the harsh words, Sydney frowned in displeasure and felt how Shawn's whole body tensed. Before she could even comfort him, four wolves of the similar build like his with a black fur coat stepped forth and transformed into humans. Their expressions were mocking and a bit hostile!

"Shawn....fancy seeing you around!!!" one would with three stripes said. Looking at Sydney who was on Shawn's back, the male smiled but his eyes shifted to Shawn. "You are blind...why are you walking around with our city's female like that?! What if you crash into a wall and hurt her?!" he sneered and the beastmen around burst into laughter.

Sydney's hands fisted into Shawn's fur in anger but her facial expression didn't show. She had enough!!

"Or are you hoping she'll take pity upon you and mate with you?!" he tormented.

Shawn let out a warning feral growl but didn't act recklessly feeling the female on his back. He didn't want to be accepted out of pity by any female but if it was Sydney and she was taking him in out of pity, he wouldn't mind, he'd actually be honoured!

"Umm excuse me.." Sydney's soft voice silenced the whole area and all males looked at her eagerly. The female was talking to them?!!! "Are you from the wolf tribe?" she asked.

"Yes female! We are from the night wolf tribe." he said. It was the same tribe from which Shawn was born.

"What's your relationship with Shawn?" Sydney asked with an innocent expression as if she didn't understand their hostility against Shawn.

"He is the black sheep of our tribe...everyone knows that!" the male wolf said feeling elated that the female was talking to him.

"Oh..okay." she nodded in understanding and with an innocent but cold voice, she crooked her head to the side her hair falling over her shoulder exposing her creamy neck and uttered "Then...I want to inform you that your clan won't need to send any representatives for the duel during the bonfire night. I've chose Shawn from your tribe... he'll be my mate." she ended with a smile shutting every males up.

Shawn who was on his four almost stumbled but held himself in disbelief. She...she chose him?!!! Was she being serious? Him!! He whimpered.

"It's alright Shawn. Caden...let's leave." she added and Caden nodded his head. He didn't say anything but was glad, firstly, Shawn was older than him and as Caden grew up, he saw how Shawn was treated but the wolf had grown numb to the mockery and today was the first time he heard him whimper. That single sound held emotions untold.

They walked out of the encirclement and continued their day as planned but all males were baffled. Females NEVER accepted males with any form of disability.

The wolf beastman paled hearing the female's declaration. She was obviously kidding...he thought to himself but that didn't seem to be the case. Females words were final in matters concerning their family and no one could say otherwise. Damn! What had he just done? The Night wolf tribe king was going to kill him!
