System activated

Adiria held onto the child and ran as fast as she could through the woods, even though she got hurt along the way, she did not stop and the child did not let go of her either, for he trusted her. 

Despite running as fast as she could, to keep the child safe, she knew that she couldn't outrun the person that was after her, seeing they were magic users and her chances against him was limited, but she couldn't stop. 

After a little while of running, she came into an open area within the woods and she exhaled deeply then came to a halt, while panting and the person appeared before her as she looked up and saw reflection of different forms of lights coming from the palace area. 

"They are fighting, don't worry, I will protect you," She said as she patted the child, who was crying.

"Be careful, I like you, I don't want you to get hurt, you are already bleeding," He mumbled as tears streamed down her cheeks and she smiled at him. 

'There is no way of getting the child away from him now, I may be skilled in certain areas but, I am pretty sure I will lose if I go up against him, I never fight a losing fight but if I back away, the child is gone and that I am not going to let happen,' She thought as the guy approached them and she stood in front of the child.

"You are just an ordinary servant of the emperor and his women, who thinks they are above everyone else, why are you going to such lentghs to protect the kid? Did the empror promise to make you a concubine as well?" He asked in a cold tone. 

After hearing his questions, she laughed and both the child and the guy looked at her and she exhaled deeply then her eyes narrowed. 

"I know and no, but I was given the offer and refused, I have no interest in being any other woman in a man's life other than his one and only, if he wants to be greedy then he might as well go to hell, I have no interest in such things," She responded. 

"Oh? That's new, you are probably the only servant to ever say something like that, others would have already agreed, if that's not it then is there another reason?" He asked. 

"You are weird, wanting to kill a kid yet willing to listen, I am not the only weird one around, it would seem, I have nothing to gain from it, it's just I cannot let the kid get in harm's way, I like him, also whatever conflict this is, he is still just a child and despite being his son he has nothing to do with it, I won't stand by and let it happen and I have my goals as well, I will not let anyone get in my way," She responded. 

"Is that so? He is the heir, he is going to grow doing what he is told or maybe not, but one day he will be the emperor and the same thing will go on because they believe they are always right, it's too bad, that you are siding with them, but I am willing to let you go, wal away from the kid and you won't get hurt," He said. 

'There is no reasoning with him anymore, whatever this conflict is, it runs deep and it's not only within the kingdoms, there is more here than just fight for power, but from what I sense right now, these guys are no good either....' She thought before lowering her gaze. 

"Adiria... Go..." The child mumbled and her eyes widened as she turned around to look at him. 

"It's okay... You can't fight him... I don't want anything to happen to you because of me..." He said with a bright smile on his face and her eyes narrowed. 

"Just go already, it's for your own good, none of this has anything to do with you," The guy said and she lowered her head. 

The child looked at her and her hair fell in front of her face, making it hard to read her expression, then she placed her hand on his head, ruffling his hair and his brows furrowed then she sighed. 

"I will protect you, you are a good kid, you don't deserve this, stay behind me, no matter what," She said as she turned to face the guy, who scoffed. 

"Is this your final decision?" He asked and se nodded. 

"Then, don't say I didn't give you a chance or warn you, you will die for being so stubborn," He added as his eyes began glowing and he rushed forth. 

"Adiria, please..." The child cried out and she clenched her fist tightly. 

'If I don't do something, I am really going to die,' She thought as the guy was about to attack the child ad she grabbed him by his arm, pulling him out of the way and he fell down to the ground. 

The child hit his head on a rock and began falling unconscious. 

"Adiria..." He mumbled as his eyes were closing and all he saw was the guy going to attack her before fully falling unconscious. 

Before the guy could touch her, the mark that appeared on Adiria's body, began glowing and two dragon like markings appeared in her eyes for a split second, before disappearing. 

[System activated.]

[Energy contained.]

[Phase one, activated.]

Her eyes glowed brightly as he grabbed onto the guy's cuff, with such force that the ground beneath their feet, cracked and his eyes widened as he looked up at her. 

"What the hell?" He mumbled as he saw her body glowing and she looked up at him. 

"Kill me? I told you that I have goals in my life, ones that I need to fulfill, didn't I?" She asked as she moved swiftly, before releasing his hand. 

Adiria punched him in his stomach, releasing a certain amount of energy that sent him crashing across the ground in a loud thud and she looked at him as he coughed and looked up at her, with blood streaming down the side of his face and her eyes narrowed as she looked up at him, with very little emotions in her eyes.
