Two weeks after the harrowing escape from Maezul village, what remained of the East Izhvanhi Solidarity Movement fled into Izhvahan.
This was much to the frustration of Commander Zai, who time and again had requested permission to deploy only to be shot down by Colonel Cao, and in the final case, General Suleika.
Cao had taken up the fight while Zai and her people recovered, and proved remarkably effective. He leveraged the destruction of Maezul and the survivor's testimonies and public appearances into a united front in Escator. EISM sympathizers and funding sources dried up when news of the gas attacks was made public.
The Colonel for a time seemed like he could do no wrong, and in the campaign that followed, the EISM was destroyed down to their last training base, which disbanded and fled. When that happened, Cao "took the fight to Izhvahan" by demanding their extradition.
