Vol. 05 Ch. 01 – Chief of Staff

It has been six months since ART Pirates left Conomi Island. A lot happened during their adventure in East Blue. They continue sailing in search of Poneglyph in East Blue following the magic compass in Nico Robin's hand. All the Poneglyph found in East Blue are just types that tell local history. Nico Robin also thinks that the Poneglyph in the Blue Sea will only tell local history, not about the Void History she is looking for. But it is still interesting for Nico Robin who will still translate it even if it takes hours.

Apart from searching for Poneglyph, Arthur also uses his magic compass to find Devil Fruits for all of them. And with his luck, Arthur managed to find two Devil Fruits on a tree on a small island no more than 10 meters wide. Bird-Bird Fruit Model: Siren, the Mythical Zoan Devil Fruit that Nico Robin wanted for her second devil fruit they were finally able to find.

While the other Devil Fruit is Bird-Bird Fruit Model: Hippogriff, this Devil Fruit is similar to Bird-Bird Fruit Model: Gryphon. If the Gryphon has the body, tail, and hind legs of a lion which excel in strength but the hippogriff has the body, tail, and hind legs of a horse that excel in agility. The two of them also have the same mythical ability, making air into a form that can be tangible or perhaps even manipulated.

Hancock: "Arthur, I've always wondered how you got this lucky." Hancock who was standing right in front of a tree with two Devil Fruits hanging from the top of the tree could only shake her head.

Arthur: "These two fruits have the same appearance, so I think they are both Mithycal Zoan Bird-Bird Fruit. One is a Siren model and the other is a Hippogriff model. " Arthur explained to the members about their findings after open the Devil Fruit Encyclopedia.

Robin: "So who will eat this Bird-Bird Fruit Model: Hippogriff?" Robin looked at the other members who didn't have Devil Fruits yet.

Arthur: "I already have an idea which Zoan Devil Fruit that Sabo will use, so, Koala, do you want this Bird-Bird Fruit Model: Hippogriff Devil Fruit?" Arthur turned towards the Koala who was standing next to Sugar.

Koala: "Can I have it?"

Sugar: "Of course, then the two of us can become the Eagle-Headed Sisters." Sugar immediately answered Koala's question with enthusiasm.

Kuina: "Of course, Koala, you can have it. I don't want to become a Devil Fruit user, I just want to become the number one swordsman in the world with my own strength. " Kuina also supports Koalas to eat Bird-Bird Fruit Model: Hippogriff

Bepo: "Captain ..." Only Bepo felt that Arthur didn't pay attention to him.

Arthur: "Bepo, I have told you many times to master your [Electro] first and also control your beast instincts when you change into [Sulong] form. Then let's talk about Devil Fruits. " Although Arthur wanted his crew to be strong, he didn't want them to rely solely on Devil Fruits.

In the end, Bird-Bird Fruit Model: Hippogriff was eaten by Koala. With the same characteristics, Sugar taught Koala to use her abilities as when Arthur taught Sugar. In ART Pirate, the ones who don't have Devil Fruits are Sabo, Kuina, and Bepo. Kuina as a swordsman doesn't want a Devil Fruit, she just wants her ability in the sword to become stronger to become the number one swordsman in the world.

All ART Pirates members didn't forget their training. The young members of ART Pirate were able to use Rokushiki according to their interests but Arthur wanted them to be able to master the two basic Haki techniques namely [Tekkai] and [Kami-e]. While the others are struggling to learn [Gepo], Sugar with her Devil Fruit can walk through the air which Koala also has with her Devil Fruit ability now.

Law: "With this, Koala will obviously be stronger, so you two have to train harder, Sabo, Kuina." Hearing Law's words made everyone even more excited, not only Sabo and Kuina who had just joined the crew.

Sabo: "Of course. The captain also said that if I can master Busoshoku Haki a little more and Kenbunshoku Haki at the basic level so I can definitely become stronger. " Sabo answered confidently.

Kuina: "I know that, if it weren't for your Devil Fruit ability then you would have lost in our sword fight yesterday." Kuina who got stronger with training from Arthur didn't want to admit defeat.

Bepo: "You don't want to be a Devil Fruit user yourself, so don't blame your opponents."

Kuina: "A feather ball that can't control itself during a full moon, it's better to stay quiet." Hearing Bepo defends Law immediately irritated Kuina.

Bepo: "Sorry ..." Bepo was immediately depressed because he knew that he needed Arthur to stop himself from going out of control in his [Sulong] form.

Another interesting thing in the last six months is Bepo who managed to change into his [Sulong] form during the full moon. But Bepo lost consciousness and went on a rampage attacking the other members. Even Hancock and Robin had to admit that they both couldn't stop Bepo without injuring him so only Arthur could stop Bepo's rampage in his [Sulong] form without any problems.

Sabo: "We can finally leave East Blue." Sabo has not satisfied his sense of adventure even though they have explored all the islands in East Blue.

Arthur: "Yes, we will cross the Grand Line and go to South Blue, but first we will head to Fish-Man Island to solve some problems." Arthur told his plan while walking back to Athena and immediately heard his Denden Mushi ringing.

* Peropero Peropero Peropero - Gacha *

Dragon: "It's me, Dragon." There was the voice of Dragon from Arthur's Denden Mushi.

Arthur: "What do you want this time, Dragon?" Arthur asked in a slightly irritated tone.

Dragon: "Should I need something to contact you?"

Arthur: "Don't ask like that because it doesn't suit your character. Tell me what you want or I hang up? "

Dragon: "I want you to help someone who will be transferred to Impel Down from Lougetown." Dragon spoke again with a serious tone.

Arthur: "This is already over the tenth time you've asked me for help. Do you know what your members call me here? "

Dragon: "Hem, how do I know?"

Arthur: "Sanbō Sōchō (Chief of Staff) !? They think I'm your deputy in RA. Do you think I didn't know that RA Commanders introduced me as Chief of Staff to their men? "

Arthur wanted to use RA when he needed help so that made Arthur willing to help Dragon. Arthur was initially less welcome among RA members when helping RA activities in East Blue, but he was surprised when RA members suddenly called him the Chief of Staff the last time he came to help RA activities.

Dragon: "Really?" Dragon pretended not to know.

Arthur: * Sigh * "… You're lucky because I'm still in East Blue and if you call me tomorrow then I've gone to the Grand Line. I'll help you, so who was caught by the marine? " Arthur finally decided to help Dragon but Dragon wasn't the one who answered his question.

Monet: "RA East Army's Commander, Belo Betty was caught last night and will be transferred to Impel Down later this afternoon from Lougetown." Monet interrupted Arthur and Dragon's conversation.

Dragon: "Looks like your information network in East Blue is getting stronger." Hearing that Monet knew about the classified news in less than 6 hours, Dragon realized how great her ability was.
