Run (Chpt. 21)

You wake up to the sound of something hitting the floor. You see your brother jumping down from his bed.

"Get up, hurry!" He tells you. You look at the time. "But it's 4:32 in the morning." "We have to leave, mom

said to hurry and pack all we need." Then you hear a big explosion. You go out into the living room, where

the tv is showcasing a burning building. "A religious group of people have burned approximately 5

buildings, claiming that their god requests them to do so." The news man says to the camera. In the back

it shows a building that is still a little on fire. "Oh my." Is all your mother says in shock. She notices you

standing on the stairs. "Serran, hurry and grab your things, we have to leave." "Isn't it better to hide

though?" "The police said we can either hide or leave town, there's not enough room for all of us to hide so we have to leave." Then she runs over to the kitchen. "Hurry and take your blankets and anything you

brought in!"

You go back up and grab your blanket and stuff what you brought up in your bag. Everyone is

running around gathering their things. "Okay, are we all done?" Your father says. "Yeah, get in the cars."

Chris responds breathless. Everyone rushes in a car, you get in with Chris since there's no time to

arrange. Your father gets in his own car which has things in it. You pass by other people who are also

leaving. "God dammit! Everett, call your mother then add your father to the call." -beep- "Chris?" Asks

your father. "Yeah, look, we have to go through the other side of the road and go to another town. There's

a bunch of cars up ahead." "Okay, let's go back."
