Lecture Hall 69

Rain stood at a chalk board, "Excellent question Josh." She smiled and wrote a phrase from a classic book on the board, "What we calk today as fan fiction started out as something called imitation art. During the Victorian era people would take writers like Dickens or Shelly or even nursery rhymes and rewrite them to be naughty."

There were some giggles as the class read what she had wrote.

She smiled, "During the Victorian age literacy was spreading to even the lower class who could read the newspapers, but also buy the growing popular penny dreadful."

One girl squealed, "Oh I love that show...it's so...so..."

"Sexual?" A deep male voice finished for her.

Rain looked to see a dusky hued man with brown eyes like coffee with out cream.

Rain licked her lips, "Yes it is and you are?"

Some students whispered as he walked down the steps, "Professor James Moriarty."

He bowed slightly.

Rain did not know the name; though the students seemed to.

A bell rang tolling the end of class, "Alright everyone see you tomorrow for part two!"

As the students left Rain gathered her notes very aware of the man watching her.

"To walk the dark halls cloaked in night; to feel the chilled air like a lover's kiss upon my skin..." He was so close suddenly his breath tickled her ear making her catch her own breath as he finished quoting her poetry, "Would it truly be a sin to give myself to the night?"

"So, it wasn't chance that brought you here Professor Moriarty." Rain blushed as she turned to look at the man. He had eyes like a predator who enjoyed toying with his prey.

"I am found out. Miss Davis." he smiled, "I happen to be a huge fan of your poetry."

He stepped closer making Rain feel traped even though there was room to run. "Your poetry speaks of a passion that is rare to find in this modern age."

Rain closed her eyes and blushed. She felt her body react to the closeness of his, "I am honored Professor."

He took her hand, "Please, call me James." He kissed her palm, "and might I call you Rain?"

Rain blinked stunned. She never had been so thoroughly flirted with, "You may... James."

He smiled a wicked grin, "Good. I too happen to be teaching here. Math; economics. Not as sensual as the history of erotica, but I have a talent for the numerical and monetary."

Rain slipped her hand from his, "Oh I don't know James; much has been done for the lust of money."

His grin was devilish, "Too true sweet Rain."

James stepped closer and Rain braced herself to be kissed; instead a voice broke the spell, "Sir, sorry to interrupt, but we must be going or you'll be late."

James' eyes burned briefly with anger. "Alas I must part." Again taking her hand he kissed the palm, "Until next time."

Rain nodded, "Yes."

After he left she hand to sit. "Holy Shit!"
