After I ate, Julian left to attend to his duties, so I asked the maids to direct me to the chambers of our 'guest'. Two guards stood on alert before the large oak doors that seemed to glare at me.
They bowed and faced me, their gazes low.
"May we help you, your Majesty?" the guard with ginger hair asked in a polite tone.
"I would like to see our guest, please." I smiled at him. Regarding to the servants in this palace and those who are on my good side, they get to experience my kindness and generosity.
Those who unfortunately land on my bad side, have the chance to fully indulge on my more mean, dark side. I could be sweet, but if you cross me, or anyone I love, be ready, for I will raise hell upon you.
The guards nodded and let me in. I went inside the room, taking note of the surroundings. There she was, sitting at a table in front of the vanity, a maid combing her blonde hair.
She did not acknowledge me, but I am sure she knew that I was here.
"Leave," I told the maid which seemed hesitant but followed my order anyways.
"What do you want?" the princess asked in a disrespectful tone. I curled my fist but decided to let it go.
"What is your name?" I questioned her cooly. She stood up and walked to my direction, not even bothering to bow or lower her gaze. She wore a vibrant yellow dress, with jewelries draped across her body. She had a slim body, but she lacked those womanly curves. Her pin-straight blonde hair was on the either side of her head.
"Why do you care?" she crossed her arms on her chest, grey eyes glaring into my crystal blue ones.
"I will not ask you again; What is your name?" I felt my blood starting to boil. It seems like the presence of this woman makes me rip my own hair out because of frustration. Instead of answering me, she just scoffed.
"Bow," I commanded her. Her hard gaze broke for a little before she looked at me like I have grown another head.
"What did you say?" her high pitched voice was irritating me. It sounded like forks scraping a plate. It was cringe. One thing I hated the most was having to repeat my self. Especially in front of this scum of a princess. It was a waste of time. I did not answer.
I circled her as if studying her appearance. When I was behind her, I kicked the back of her knee, causing her to jerk forward and fall. Her arms supported her from falling completely. She screeched and was about to get up, but I was not satisfied yet. I placed my shoe-clad foot on her back, stopping her from getting up.
"One thing I hate the most is repeating my self, especially to a lowlife like you," I went in front of her. I think she learned her lesson this time because she stayed on the floor. Her face was red, probably from anger.
"What is your name?" I asked her again.
"Princess Daliah of Miraj," she was smart this time and answered.
"Well, Dal-"
"Princess Daliah," she corrected me, expecting me to lash out but instead, I just raised my brow at her and shook my head.
"A tramp like you is not entitled to be a princess. It is an insult to royalty," I paused and looked at my nails, " Although even if you are a royal, you are hardly one knowing that your kingdom is slowly sinking to the ground, to where it truly belongs,"
Her red face turned even redder, but suddenly her lips broke off into a smirk, and there was also an evil glint in her eye. " Oh Aurora, You are just Jealous because your husband cheated on you, with me."
I surprised her by laughing. Oh boy, she really Is something. I walked to the spot where her dresses were placed, slowly grabbing them one by one. She looked at me, completely mortified.
"What are you doing?!" she ran to me, picking up all her dresses that were now scattered on the floor.
"Those will be given to the whores in this palace. Atleast they know their place, unlike you," I smiled sweetly at her.
Daliah's eyes widened. She gripped her dresses tightly, looking at me as if I'm out of my mind. "W-what? I don't have anything to wear! Y-you can't do this,"
"Oh, my sweet dear Daliah. Surely, you won't be wearing that when you will be serving this palace as a maid, right?"
"Are you out of your mind?! I am the Princess of Miraj! You don't have the power to do this," she let go of her dresses and was about to tackle me to the ground when I shouted for the guards. They came in not a second later and held Daliah with her arms. She thrashed wildly, but the guards did not let go of her.
They just waited for my order.
"Take her to the Maid's quarters. See to it that she learns how to be the perfect servant. If she doesn't you, may do what you want with her, but you are not allowed to kill her. Understand?"
"Yes, your Majesty," they dragged her to the door.
"You can't do this! I am a Princess! Let go of me!" she thrashed but it was to no avail. Before they can completely go out, I stopped them.
"Oh, and Daliah? It's Queen Aurora to you," I waved her goodbye.
I got out of the chambers, still hearing the faint echoes of her screams along the hallways. I bumped into Meredith, who looked at me with an I-know-what-you-did-look. I pretended to be confused.
"Okay, okay. I may or may not have sent the poor girl to be punished," I eventually gave up. Meredith's jaw fell to the floor.
"You did what?!" she screamed, the few other servants looking at us before going back to minding their own business.
"I sent our 'guest' to be her absolute nightmare," I told her again.
"Oh my god, Aurora! Please tell me you did not kill her," she asked me.
I rolled my eyes and flicked my brown hair back. "No, I did not. Do you really think of me that way?"
"No! Of course not. But, what do you mean by 'I sent her to be her absolute nightmare'?" Her green eyes bore into mine, almost daring me to tell her, but I did not. I want her to be surprised.
"See for yourself,"
Meredith groaned. She dragged me to a series of hallways before stopping in front of a door. It was similar to the other ones that were lined up in the hallway, but the only difference was that instead of the gold linings, this one had silver ones. I wondered what was inside of this room.
She opened it and slowly pulled me inside, but what I saw next made my breath be taken away. Rows and Rows of books were arranged on the wall and at the center of the room was a plantation of weird looking plants.
There was this certain one that died. I watched as Meredith rushed to it and held out her palm, muttering a language I did not understand. I stood frozen when I saw that the plant that was now dead, slowly had it's color back and became alive.
"H-How?" I found it hard to breathe. Meredith just looked at me, but I stepped back. What was that? What did she just do? Is she a sorceress?
"I have the element of nature, Aurora." Meredith slowly explained to me, but it did not make sense. The element of what? Have I gone mad? Or was it just my mind playing tricks on me? I did not know.
"The what?" I was confused. How did she do that?
"We both have powers, Aurora. Mine is the power of Nature, while yours is the power of the crystal," Meredith explained to me. I have Powers too? No. It can't be. I have gone mad. Oh my god.
She raised her hands once again, but this time, she was quiet. She did not mutter some strange languages. A short while after, vines started appearing out of nowhere.
I was petrified. What kind of sorcery was this? I gulped, my vision becoming blurry. I grabbed the first thing on my right. And that was the moving vine. I screamed in pure terror when I realized what it was.
My vision continued to turn blurry until I felt myself falling to the floor, slowly losing my consciousness. I heard Meredith scream my name just when I succumbed to the hypnotizing oblivion.
