“Okay, who was there? Anyone famous?”

“Besides me?” I joked.

“Yes, besides you.” Cheryl laughed.

“I think the only performer was Ryan Foster. He was the announcer.”

“I’d love to have heard that,” Charlotte said. “I get chills from his voice.”

They turned back to me

“There were quite a few directors, fashion designers, and people from other fragrance companies.” I reached into my purse. “Here, I brought you souvenirs.” I had sample bottles of both Black Pearl and Midnight Pearl for each of them.

Cheryl opened the bottle of Midnight and smelled it. “Oooh. I like this. If Bob won’t wear this, I’ll have to find someone who will…someone like your hunk of a co-star.”

“He almost didn’t make it to the preview. His wife gave birth to a baby boy last Wednesday.”

Cheryl grimaced. “Shucks. Another fantasy busted.”

Charlotte and John chuckled.

“You don’t look happy, Chris. What’s up?” Charlotte asked.
