“I was going to thank every employee of Chellen Cosmetics, but that would take longer than the ads themselves. So, a special thank you to CEO Adam Chellen for his trust and support and to the two people who really deserve this award. Without them, this would still be just dots on a piece of paper…cellist Christine Anthony and guitarist Jay Juanario.”

As applause erupted, I looked over at Adam who was motioning to us to stand up. Jay and I stood and acknowledged Jordan. I also blew him a kiss.

We sat back down and waited through all the other awards. 36

Two weeks later, I was putting my cello back in its case. The Saturday performance had just finished and the others had already left.

I was dragging a little. I hadn’t had much sleep last night at Car’s. Maybe a night alone would help.

I was just closing the locks when a man walked up to me. His face looked young but he had a lot of gray in his hair.

“Ms. Anthony?” he asked.
