I looked down the dock to a sleek, white, seventy-five foot, Marlow Explorer that was moored there.

As we started to board and walked onto the deck, a dark-haired, barrel-chested man of about forty met us. “Hi, Ms. Weldon. Welcome aboard.”

“How are the kids?”

“Growing too fast. Bobby’s only fourteen and he’s already taller than me. Shelly’s twelve and she’s just discovered boys, so it’ll be hard to keep up with them.

“They’ll be full-grown before long,” Car said in commiseration. “Who’s on crew this time?”

“Oscar’s still here. He’s already stocked up on your favorite foods. Got a new kid on first mate. He’s pretty good, though. He served with me aboard a charter last month.”
