Desperate

Its been 5 days since Arnold came to this world. The world is really treating him as outsider as since his mentality is of Earth, he can't get used to the life of slum. So even when he felt hungry, he didn't eat from the garbage dump. 

Arnold today decided that he will personally go to a dungeon as he knew when he went with his friends that in the dungeon killing monsters drop meat and other body parts. Arnold mainly aims for meat and skin so that his problem of food and clothes can be solved. But since he is non-awakened, he cannot enter authorized dungeon.

Dungeon in this world were a disaster at start that soon turned into fortune for powerful. Not only could they get materials but also experience killing beasts. Though there is no resurrection function, regularly cleaned dungeon isn't particularly dangerous. So, it has been a strategic ressource for powerful people to woo new awakened and increase their influence.

But even if poor were mistreated, there has always been a rule that non-awakened cannot enter dungeon. As for the reason, those with power stated that non-awakened mortality rate is almost 100% if they go without a team of awakened. Or, is it the fear of powerful that non-awakened get unique treasure that can give them power or what? The dungeon captured by these powerful people are called authorised dungeon. Some of these dungeon are private accessible only for those that are of their faction while some are public where paying coins they can enter the dungeon. Dungeon are divided into White, Black Iron, Bronze, Green, Blue, purple, orange, gold and red similar to human professional ranking where every 10 levels they need to pass the job test and increase their ranking. Each ranking makes their power 10 fold but not like a level 10 professional can get 10 times stronger when he turns level 11. It means that level 11 professional is 10 times powerful than level 1 professional and level 19 professional is 10 times powerful than level 9 professional. This power ranking is based on their own basis not compared with other professional. The power of professional is based his talent(white~red), profession(F~SSS), combat experience and their understanding of their own power.

Most of the white dungeon are free for public but still non-awakened cannot enter it as even the weakest beast is very strong compared to normal humans. Arnold decided to sneak inside the dungeon at late night as his instinct of survival is supressing his fear of death. Though beasts are more powerful at night so no one farms beast at night, it is the time when the dungeon isn't guarded much more as it will be easy to sneak in. Arnold went to the garbage dump and searched for a while and found a dagger. Though it was just sharp, since it looked nice, he took it. Now he is waiting for the darkness to envelop the world as he will act under sparkling stars.

At the outskirt of the camp near the slum as Arnold sneaked from the slum, he went straight to a dungeon which is considered useless and weak as it is a undead dungeon. Since they are hard to kill and doesn't give much experience and when touched by zombies, people get poisoned so no one wants to go here. The guards are sleeping as Arnold went inside the dungeon. 

Arnold chose the dungeon as the zombies are slow and he is just here to get meat not to clear it so no matter how difficult it is, using his human brain, he can at least kill one zombie. The drop rate for higher item is very low but surprisingly, in this dungeon drop rate for white tier items is extremely high almost compared to 100%. Arnold first placed a simple rope trap as soon a zombie stepped on it and got tied. arnold quickly went and smashed a large stone he placed earlier towards its head and the zombie still didn't die. Scared but driven with his instinct to survive, he charged the dagger towards the neck of zombie and stabbed it many times until it started moving.

But his luck didn't work here as nothing dropped from it but a light red flicker appeared in the side of the wall but in despair, Arnold didn't notice it. Now Arnold is angry as he screamed and cursed to the world. But soon gained his composure as in dungeon, such noise can attract beasts and it is extremely dangerous for people like Arnold to attract beasts even if they are of low level. 

He again set out and started walking but he didn't find any zombies, he walked all the way to the end and found a door, very large door, most likely the boss room. Arnold got confused by this weird situation as even if the dungeon is cleared, there shall be beasts more than he found. But strangely, no beasts are found and Arnold started feeling creepy and then he started returning back as if people found out that he went inside the dungeon, he will be severely punished as there has been case before.

But suddenly a chilly wind passed by as the door opened and a bright red light sucked himself in as his consciousness faded.
