Chapter 6: Fourth Brother, This Is Li Yuhuan

Since Lei Hanping left, Li Yuhuan had rarely heard any news about him. Occasionally, her brother would sometimes mention him at home, saying things like Lei Hanping's team had performed well in the recent battle simulation, Lei Hanping had won first place in the battle against more than ten elite troops, and so on.

Every time Li Yuhuan heard these stories, she would remain silent. Recently, she has been busy with blind dates, which was a good distraction for her. She refused to think about Lei Hanping; after more than a month, Lei Hanping's name had slowly faded from her mind.

Perhaps she hadn't forgotten but just forbade herself from thinking about him again.

In the evening, Li Yuhuan received a call from her best friend, Song Ran. Li Yuhuan and Song Ran used to study abroad together. They were classmates who got along well and often completed homework together. After graduation, the two of them chose different career paths, and Song Ran returned to their home country to film documentaries, while Li Yuhuan stayed abroad to film relatively loose-scaled erotic dramas.

"Yuhuan, you have to help me..." Song Ran's pitiful voice came from the phone, "I sprained my ankle the other day, and the doctor said that my ankle was dislocated very badly, so I have to be hospitalized for half a month. But I'm only halfway through shooting the promotional video and still have to submit it by the end of the year... The assistant director under me isn't good enough and can't film what I want. That night, she took a plane and flew off. Song Ran sent her assistant to pick her up from the airport, and they quickly drove off to the hotel she would be staying at. But when they arrived, Li Yuhuan was a little slow to realize that the hotel was next to Xiang City's military area. Over the phone, Song Ran had not explained in detail what kind of film she was shooting, but Li Yuhuan had not asked for the details either. She thought she was shooting for a city promotional film or a documentary film about people. Instead, when she arrived at the meeting room and saw the theme of the film, she was stunned.

It was as if fate was toying with her.

The first thing Li Yuhuan wanted to do was call off the filming. Though, she knew she shouldn't. As a professional director, she shouldn't give up her job just because the subject was someone she wanted to avoid.

Li Yuhuan quickly steeled her mindset and gathered the assistant director and scriptwriters to understand their shooting plan. She video-called Song Ran throughout the entire meeting. After confirming the direction of the shoot, Li Yuhuan returned to her hotel room to look through the videos they had already filmed. 

Lei Hanping was not in any of the videos, but it was clear that the promotional film was centered around the 30-year-old general... 

When Lei Hanping was awarded the title of general, there were many controversies. After all, the average age of becoming a general was above 45 years old. The primary purpose for this promotional film was to put Lei Hanping, the youngest general in history, in a new light. 

Probably.

When the assistant director heard Li Yuhuan's question, he frowned and replied, "The reason why our filming progress is so slow is not just because Director Song Ran is hospitalized, but also because general Lei Hanping refused to accept our interview. We've already interviewed all the other outstanding leaders, but General Lei is the most difficult person to handle. We haven't even seen him yet, let alone interview him."

Li Yuhuan was speechless.

The subject's unwillingness to cooperate was the biggest obstacle in any filming plan. 

After the assistant director left, Li Yuhuan sat in her chair for a long time. In the end, she took out her phone and sent a text to Lei Hanping. The first message was ignored, so Li Yuhuan had no choice but to send a second message: "Fourth Brother, this is Li Yuhuan."

Ten minutes later, Lei Hanping called. The first thing he said was, "Have you eaten dinner? Sichuan food or hotpot?" He was very unyielding and refused to give Li Yuhuan a chance to object.

Lei Hanping sent a car to pick her up at eight in the evening. The car was low-key and didn't attract too much attention. The drive wasn't long. It only took her thirty minutes before the car pulled up to a beautiful courtyard. Although there was no sign or name on the building, many expensive cars were parked outside the entrance. Li Yuhuan knew this kind of establishment exclusively catered to regular patrons; otherwise, appointments had to be made in advance. 

Li Yuhuan had to say that she loved this elegant and vintage setting. She walked around the courtyard as she waited for Lei Hanping to arrive. 

When Li Yuhuan looped back towards the entrance again, she noticed a familiar figure. She was ready to approach the man when she noticed a young, beautiful girl standing next to him.
