The Difference Between Men and Women

Jiang Ju still didn't speak, but she raised her head and stared at Du Xi for two minutes. Then, she turned around and left the kitchen without a word. She was very flustered now and her remaining rationality wasn't enough for her to sort out what had just happened. She wanted to be alone for a while. After she calmed down, she would think about what to do next.

As Jiang Ju returned to her bedroom, Du Xi stared at her back silently from behind. As he leaned against the kitchen door frame with a cigarette between his fingers, he began to regret not kissing the child while she was distracted.

If Du Xi knew that his decision would prevent him from seeing the girl for seven months, he definitely wouldn't have made such a decision. Instead, he would have told her about his feelings. However, he didn't have the ability to foresee the future, so at this moment, he was busy in the kitchen.

Jiang Ju hid in the closet again and stayed inside for more than half an hour. She only moved when she smelled the aroma of food wafting into the bedroom from the living room. However, when she thought of the undisguised desire in Du Xi's eyes and the inexplicable ambiguous atmosphere between the two of them, she didn't have the courage to walk out of the bedroom.

She was a very stubborn child, so even though she was hungry, she still didn't walk out of the bedroom. The tip of Du Xi's tongue rubbed against the back of his teeth, and he suddenly felt an inexplicable sense of lust. This time, he didn't want to let this coward in front of him off easily. He reached out and pinched her face hard.

Other than the pain on her face, she could also feel the warmth of his rough fingers on her face. It was burning.

After her face was pinched quite forcefully, her first reaction wasn't anger, but shyness. The man's hands were a little rough, and there was a thin layer of calluses on his fingertips. Compared to her tender face, the feeling was completely different. For the first time, she realized the difference between a man and a woman appeared. One was hard, and the other was soft. Just the thought of it made her blush.

Du Xi didn't know what she was thinking as he carried her to the dining table. After she sat down, he handed her a pair of chopsticks and raised his chin to gesture for her to eat the blueberry yam in front of her. "Try it. I learned how to make it since the internet says that young ladies like to eat sweet desserts."

As Jiang Ju looked at him, she reached out to pick up a piece of yam with blueberry jam. After tasting it, she picked up another piece and sent it to Du Xi's bowl. "It's delicious. You should try it too."

After Jiang Ju finished speaking, she looked up at him and pursed her lips into an imperceptible smile. Du Xi replied, "I don't like sweet things. You should eat more of it if you like it." Although Du Xi said that, he still picked up the yam in his bowl and ate it. Then, he picked up a piece for her and placed it in the bowl. "Eating yam is beneficial for your health, especially your lungs and stomach. Eat quickly. After you're done, I'll bring you out to play."

Today, he had paid the burly men at the construction site. As soon as they got off work, they took the money and went out to have fun. No one remembered to look for him. The last time he said that he would bring her to the vantage point to view the scenery, the plan fell through, but bringing her to the amusement park for a ride on the Ferris wheel would be just as fun.
