"Hey, Jer, I need you to help me with something."
"What's up?"
"I've been going through Stefan's old journals, every time Stefan's gone off the rails in the past,
his best friend Lexi's been there to bring him back."
"So where is she now that we need her?" Asked Alaric.
"She's dead, and you want me to try to reach her don't you?" Asked Jeremy while turning back around to face his sister.
"I thought maybe if I knew how she did it, I could help him." Elena said softly trying to convince Jeremy.
"I don't even know if she's on the other side." He answered.
"Is that what it's called?"
"That's what Anna calls it, there's not like a… Official brochure or anything."
"So what is it, like some sort of supernatural purgatory?" Alaric trying to keep himself in the loop.
"Anna said it's like being here with all of us, only we can't see her, or hear her, and she can't
interact with anyone. She's… all alone." Jeremy said while gazing at Anna.
"Vicki could interact, she blew up my car." Answered Alaric rather pointedly.
"Vicki had help from a witch on the other side, Anna… She's doing this all by herself."
"Just saying… Maybe we learned our lesson about summoning dead people?" Alaric says while subtly dropping a clear hint for Jeremy, causing Elena to look back at him.
"Do you think it's even possible to contact Lexi?"
"I don't know. I didn't have an emotional connection with her, I've never even met her."
"Can we just drop it, please?"
"No, I can't drop it, Ric I don't know what else to do."
"Don't you think we have a few too many dead vampires in our past to be sitting here thinking of them watching us?" Answered Alaric, no longer hiding his displeasure in the situation.
"I don't think all supernatural spirits go to the other side. I think some of them find peace." Said Anna.
"Is Anna here right now?" Elena looked at Jeremy seriously, noticing that he seemed to gaze at one spot in the air quite often.
"No… No, I'm gonna go check my work schedule." Said Jeremy, making a tacit exit.
"Hey guys. Who forgot to invite me to the family summit? " Asked Stefan, before sitting down next to Elena, causing her to open and close her mouth at a loss of what to say.
"Hm?" Asked Stefan, seemingly amused at the entire situation his appearance has caused.
Finally, an idea appeared in Elena's head, maybe she could convince Hope to help them. After
what Hope said the other night Elena was convinced that she was a good person. No one could feel that type of pain without having a conscience that tells you right from wrong.
"Stefan, I need you to get Hope here."
"What?! Elena no, she's an unknown variable, we can't trust her!"
"Now why would I bring you Klaus' witch, Elena?" Stefan asked, still in his all too amused mood.
"What if a witch or ghost attacks us, Stefan? Both you and Hope are supposed to protect me right? So then go get her." Said Elena, no longer putting up with any of his attitudes or quips, she had grown entirely too tired to entertain any of his antics.
"Fine, I'll call her right now." Answered Stefan, the amusement fading from his face, restoring his humanity less indifference.
"Hello?" Hope answered on the other side of the phone. She was wondering why a Stefan with no humanity would be calling her. For all she knew, Stefan didn't care about anything. Let alone building a friendship with her.
"Elena wanted to speak to you." Was all he said before sliding the phone casually to Elena.
"I need you to help us contact a dead vampire." Said Elena into the phone expectantly. Elena was only half sure this plan would work. She didn't know Hope but she knew she was a good person and thought that she was obligated to help.
"Elena, I can help you with whatever you need. But this will be the last time and you'll owe me a favor." Hope had a hero complex, and the problem was she still felt bad about what happened to Stefan and knew Elena just wanted to fix him. However, she also didn't want to seem easy and have the Scooby gang calling her whenever something went wrong. For all she knew she could either disappear or figure out how to get home. The thing was though, if they grew dependent on her and one of those things happened, they weren't going to survive on their own.

After Hope helped Elena connect to Lexi, she kind of wanted to go to New Orleans and visit Marcel. However her thoughts were once again cut short as she was casually walking down the street when 5 different ghost vampires surrounded her.
"Don't people ever get tired of fighting people they can't beat?" She said sarcastically while rolling her eyes at their attempts.
She then waved her hands outwards and launched raw magic sending everyone tumbling to the ground. She then clasped her first together in a twisting motion effectively twisting one of the men's head off, when another one tried to rush behind her but she dodged and swiped her hand left sending him flying through the air.
She then aimed her hand into a claw at another man and pulled, ripping his heart out of his chest. Then proceeding to clasp her hands together and eviscerate the others.
"The end result will always be the same." Said Hope turning around to leave but then spotting… Rebekah?
Now Rebekah's thoughts were in turmoil, she had never in her thousand years of life seen power like that. On the one hand she was glad she was Klaus' witch, but on the other hand she was worried about what Hope could do.
"Hello, Rebekah. What are you doing here?" Asked Hope curiously gazing at the shocked Rebekah.
—
"it's a trap Klaus, they're just luring you over to your doom. Think about it how could they who couldn't even beat you, somehow dagger Mikael?"
"I'm sure it is luv, however, a thousand years I've run and I've grown tired of it. If they have a plan to send me to my imminent death, then we shall construct a plan of our own to very well overcome this." Said Klaus to Hope displaying a bit of rare emotion and sincerity. He had to admit the fact that he was gone all summer and Hope had never once faltered in what he instructed of her touched him. Not to mention the fact that she was here helping him "The Great Evil" overcome the greatest challenge of his life.
He had grown rather attached to Hope, she was one of the only people who didn't judge him. Also, as much as she tried to hide it, he could see her sincerity, it was always in her eyes. The emotion in her eyes can't be concealed. This was another reason, despite all his better judgment, she had been one of the few people to win some of his trust.
When they were planning, Klaus told Hope to hide within the house while he handled everything else. He said only to intervene on his signal, but she was Hope Mikaelson, there was no way she was going to be sidelined.
This brings us to this moment, when Damon tries to vamp speed behind Klaus and stake him, but Hope from inside the House waves her hand and sends Damon flying as he drops the stake. Klaus picks it up, jumps across the border and stakes Mikael, while Stefan rushes in and holds Damon down.
"What are you doing?!" Yelled Damon, rage seeping through even his bones, but it's at this moment Klaus comes back in and says:
"He's earned his freedom." and compels Stefan to be free of his control. Hope knows this was a mistake since she remembered what Stefan did after this, but she didn't say anything since Klaus ended up getting them back anyway.
Hope was just about to leave when she heard Klaus call her.
"Hope. Thank you." Not many words were spoken, but he looked at hope with such sincerity that for a moment you doubted his identity.
"No problem." Responded Hope, before walking away.
