Trickery

the five men walk towards the house looking inside noticing me, their eyes widen before they halt the horses, stepping off of them and walking towards the house, I step forward placing my hand on the burnt door frame before stepping outside, I walk down the fragile stairs before stepping onto burnt grass, I turn my body facing the five men,

They stare at me with confused eyes, glancing at each other repeatedly before the man in the front speaks to me, " You aren't from this planet are you, I've never seen such white skin before. ", he raises his hand up in the air, he's trying to shake my hand I guess, I ignore the handshake nodding my head at him,

I scan their power levels they are slightly stronger than the usual sodiains their power levels range from 560-670, " Well have you seen a woman wearing a blue vest by chance, she went missing a couple of weeks ago, and this was the last place she went to before disappearing? " said a man in the back, they are talking about the woman I fought in the woods and desert, these men must be soldiers of the royal family she comes from, but have I been unconscious for weeks?

" I have not, everything changed when that strange monster attacked, " I said shrugging my shoulders, I need to lie my way out of this one, there's no way I can defeat these men being so injured,

" Can you at least tell us what this monster looks like, " said a sodiain with his arms crossed standing as still as a rock, I was about to say that it was a giant ape before I remember that my tail is now visible due to my cape being ripped,

" It was a massive lizard with no legs, it emerged from that ocean over there it fired bright rays of lightning, it was a humongous creature, I promise you. " I say pointing toward the ocean, I turn my head back towards the men, their eyes are wide with a few scratching their heads. they look at me confused,

" That body of water is too shallow to hold such a monster as you say, " said the man in the front glaring at me, he begins to walk towards me, Damn how was I meant to know that the purple ocean was shallow, he continues to walk towards me before I speak again,

" It might be but a local woman I talked to said that body of water had a huge ocean underneath it, the ocean hosting huge creatures, the beast must have come from there, " The man stops before looking at his men, they nod at each other before looking back at me?

"An underground ocean is quite interesting we will let you go, is there anyone else in that house " I shake my head walking past the men, I continue walking away from the men...

Five minutes later:

As Sado fled the men, they walked up to the single remaining house in the ruined forest entering it, they walk through the door and see an elderly lady sitting on a chair, just like Sado they ran over to her trying to wake her up,

She doesn't respond and they soon later find out that she was dead, they look around the house before finding the same diary that Sado read but instead of flipping to the very last pages they flip to the middle one, a man read it silently with the four others looking at him, he continued reading the book before raising his left hand up in the air creating a flame, he turns his wrist changing the orange flame into purple, he moves his hand down just hovering above the book,

The book comes to life with new bright blue letters appearing as soon as lights from the fire hits the book, he begins reading before his eyes widen, " Check the village just north of here, that's where the princess fled to, and go try to find that man, he's the monster we are looking for "

They turn to each other nodding their heads, they spin around in sync heading out of the door...

In Sodiains culture, you write the events of tragedies in the middle pages of a book or diary, this way the pages of the book have a higher probability of surviving a fire or being soaked by a massive thunderstorm or some other disaster,
