A Personal Hell for A Winged Killer (Draft 1)

This has now become the rough draft of a new novel I intend to submit into the spirity awards of 2023. After a lot of thinking upon the idea, I’ve come to the conclusion that my alterations to the story would be so great that I should start from scratch, and the decision has been very helpful for me, allowing me to take time to look into how my story could be deserving of the eyes of readers like you and allowing me to make myself more proud of my work. A lot of aspects such as characters and powers will remain the same, but the core of the story itself will be crucially altered, adding even more mystery and building upon the world that I’ve been creating over the past 3-4 years much better than I have been. I would like to thank everyone for their support over the time since I typed my first rendition of A Personal Hell for A Winged Killer and I hope that you’ll follow the story again a year from now under a new name(Undecided). My journey as a guy who just writes for fun to someone who’s become dedicated to the story and characters I’ve imagined wouldn’t be the same without you, so once again, I thank you and hope you enjoyed your stay. This story will remain on pause until I decide what to do with it. I was thinking of making this an alternate side story for what I intend to replace it with or to just continue to use it for reference as the new story evolves and learns from its original. The Roar of the Wind Deity

Standing there, in the entrance to the room, was a seven-foot tall woman with toned muscles all over her body. She maintained a slender form, and her eyes glowed in an assortment of colors. Scott's eyes widen as he looked downward toward the woman, the aura she exuded contaminating the air and turning it red.

"Now this--this is a pleasant surprise. I've heard about you, and here I thought you were just a boring little girl."

Nifla's voice rang through their ears like a siren, her voice much lower than previously.

"I still can't see, huh?"

She blinked and turned around toward the wall that everyone was hiding behind.

'Icarus...'

A voice instantly went through her mind as he looked at Icarus, his arm missing.

<"One day, I'll save you-- all of you...">

She pressed her eyes closed, but seconds later, her head instantly turned toward Scott who was assuming a defensive stance.

"The girl that was experimented on so much that she's basically five Warbeasts in one... FASCINATING! I've gotta give those dogs SOME props!"

Nifla whispered under her breath.

"You annoy me."

Scott conjured a sword made of wind, and wind began circulating throughout the room. Nifla vanished, and Scott blocked an attack from behind using a small gust of wind while Nifla alternated attacks from all directions at once. Her claws glowed red and the slices lingered even after she'd swung.

Sweat dripped down Scott's face as he struggled to keep track of Nifla's unpredictable movements.

'This could prove troublesome.'

Scott was surrounded by attacks from all directions, getting squished together while he tried to repel them.

Nifla sat on the ground again, waiting as Scott was finally able to push the attacks away, but she disappeared again, this time appearing instantly in front of Scott and landing a kick that sent a shock-wave through the room, cracking several of his bones in an instant.

Scott smacked against the wall and plummeted to the ground where he was again met by Nifla who constantly pummeled him until he was motionless. He was unable to keep up with a single movement, the attacks coming at speeds he couldn't perceive.

Nifla tugged at his white cloth, whispering in his ears as she looked at him with her dead eyes, visibly pissed off.

"I hope your fascination was enough. Bye-bye."

Nifla pointed her claws toward him, but intense wind excreted from his body at high speeds, pushing her toward the opposite wall and cutting her all over her body.

"Sorry, but it's not going to be that easy. You're naïve; You think that you're strong just because of your multiple abilities, but in reality, you're just a bitch who doesn't know the meaning of killing someone."

Nifla continued to be pressed against the wall, making her incapable of teleporting, and Scott approached, supporting his broken body with his wind ability as it floated, completely slumped over.

"You might've won if you'd realized your worth, beast-girl. There's a simple hierarchy when it comes to Metam. Those who're born with superior powers will naturally be placed higher, and there is no shortcut. Your worth hasn't changed since you've been conceived."

Nifla began being crushed by the wind pressure, letting out a bellow that disoriented Scott and caused him to drop her. She fell to the floor, motionless, with multiple cuts on her body, but Scott continued to speak as he recovered from the blast of sound.

"... Yet, you're human---Human with a warbeast's power. You intrigue me. You are weak, but that doesn't mean you are of no use to me. You have convictions of your own---that in itself can be fixed, and you cling to your friends for support, giving you hope... Another naive tendency that can be fixed."

He grabbed Nifla by the neck and lifted her into the air, the rest of his body remaining supported by his own wind. She coughed loudly and repeatedly, and she soon fell unconscious before Scott threw her to the ground, floating toward the exit.

A mesh of voices could be heard on the other side.

"You whine and whine. Pigs like you are destined to be killed by a wolf such as myself. Cleansing the world of you killers will do a greater service to Master Rigkt than keeping you alive."

A ball of air appeared in his hand, and he pointed it toward the door, speaking slyly toward the door.

"Simple Medium: Roar of the Wind Diety"

A giant spiral of wind blew the door from its hinges and propelled them down the corridor as he looked on, admiring his own work. Beyond the door, Tip's head nearly touched the roof of the cramped corridor, Icarus, Ulysses and Beo hiding behind him as he continued to walked forward, an automated voice coming through his mask as he approached the massive blast of wind.

[High-Value Target: General Scott Fringe. Terminating.]

Tip pointed his finger toward the howling spiral, and a beam of light shot out of his glove, burning the finger sleeve off. It cut straight through the wind, going until it hit the wall of the room behind Scott.

Scott's head split completely as he fell to the ground, and Tip's automated voice spoke again.

[Target Eliminated]

Tip approached the room, and once he arrived, he inspected Nifla who was still unconscious. As he examined her body, Ulysses, Icarus, and Beo slowly approached the room, their eyes wide at what they'd just witnessed.

"Once she wakes up, we're leaving out of here. Until then, let me in on everything you've learned so far concerning their attack."
