Chapter 6

When morning comes, it finds him and Kyle intertwined together, and Gardner has no regrets, despite allthe creaks and pains in his neck and down his back. Somehow he fell asleep too and can’t remember when Kyle practically climbed over him. What a way to spend your first night together. Gardner stifles a chuckle and shakes Kyle’s shoulder.

“Kyle, hey. Come on, wake up.”

With a soft groan, Kyle stirs awake. Yawning, he stretches and almost hits Gardner on the head with an outstretched arm.

“Hey, whoa. Watch out.” Gardner laughs as he ducks away.

“Huh?” Kyle blinks and only then notices where he is. “What’re you doing here?” he mumbles, still half asleep. “What am I…Oh.” He jumps off the couch so suddenly that he almost trips on the carpet.

“Wait, hey. Careful there.” Gardner grabs Kyle’s arm before he falls flat on his ass.

Kyle tries to wave Gardner’s hand off, but Gardner holds on.
