Officially Dating

Morning news.

"A body of a female college student has been found inside an abandon building of Shen City. According to the police, the female college student is a victim of serial killing. Autopsy report showed that the victim suffered brutal torture. Her fingernails were removed, her heart and other internal organ were missing, and her face has been removed too. The identity of the victim is yet to be found. The police is conducting a thorough investigation to catch the criminal as soon as possible."

Jean Mary was stricken with terror when she heard the news. She was uneasy and restless because she suspected that the victim might be Anne. She directly went to Jan's room to tell him about the news.

"Jan, have you heard?" But she saw that Jan was also watching the news via his computer.

"Hmmm. Yeah." He answered her.

"I can't calm down Jan. What if something wrong happened to her?" She anxiously told him.

"Don't worry Jean Mary. Everything will be alright. Anne is safe." He assured her. He hugged Jean and tapped her back . "Just stay right here for now. I will just go to Mr. Smith."

Jan left Jean Mary in his room and searched for Mr. Smith.

"Mr. Smith, have you already hired the maid I told you about?" He said.

"The two maids I hired refused when they knew that they will be working for the Reynolds." He truthfully responded.

Jan's face became sour when he heard it. "By the way, have you taken care of the security camera?"

"Yes young master, everything has been erased. No traces were left." He said.

"Good." Then Jan Reynolds left him and went to the kitchen to prepare food for Jean Mary.

After his preparation, he went back to his room and asked Jean Mary to eat.

"Jean, you eat first." Jan asked her.

"I have no appetite." She refused.

"You have to eat so you would gain energy." He insisted.

"I can't eat not unless Anne showed up." Jean Mary was being stubborn.

"Jean, Anne's appearance will have nothing to do whether you eat or not. You actions are self-defeating. If you want to wait for Anne, you must have the energy to do so. And you will gain energy through food." He was trying to make sense to Jean.

Jean agreed to Jan. He was right. She had to gather herself. Sulking will not change and help anything. "Okay." She resigned.

"Now, eat!" Jan commanded.

Jean Mary started eating,she realized that she was very hungry when she tasted the food. "It's very delicious. Mr. Smith is really a good cook."

#_# Jan felt hurt a little that Jean Mary thought that it was Mr. Smith who do the cooking. "Ehheerrrmmm." He pretended to cough.

"What's wrong?" She asked when she heard him cough.

"It's not Mr. Smith's cooking. I prepared all of it." He proudly said.

"What? You cook too? I'm sorry. I thought it was Mr. Smith all along." She honestly told him.

"It's alright. You haven't seen me in the Kitchen."

"I did." She said.

"You did? When?" He wondered when.

"When I asked Mr. Smith that I will do the dishes, he told me that you won't allow since you are the one who's doing the dishes. Instead, I secretly watched you from afar." She confessed.

"I see." He nodded.

"You know what Jan, I think I misunderstood you for so long and now, I am slowly coming to know you more." Jean Mary confessed.

"Hmmm." His only answer.

"I was not happy to know that I will get married to someone. But when I knew that it was you, I was half hearted. I was scared but I felt happy too." She continued.

"Why?" He was confused.

"I don't know if you remember but I was the one who bumped into you in school. I had a crush on you then."

Jan's heart fluttered with romantic excitement. He was happy to know that Jean Mary had feelings for him. So he smiled genuinely to her.

"Come on, tell me something. I felt awkward telling you my feelings."

"I like you Jean." Jan's unexpected confession left Jean speechless. "I mean, I love you. From the moment you bumped into me, I can't take you away from my mind. And I was happy too that you were the one my grandfather chose that I have to marry." He continued.

Jean Mary's tears fell. She knew that it was not the right time to feel happy because Anne is missing but she couldn't stop her heart. She felt that she was in cloud nine. She was blissful.

"Don't cry Jean, I cannot bear to see you cry." Jan got alarmed by seeing her beloved cry.

"These are tears of joy Jan. I felt joyous knowing that you and I have the same feelings. But I can't be totally happy for now. If Anne would return home safely. I can't wish for more." She said.

"Anne will be safe Jean Mary. Don't worry anymore." He continued on consoling her.

Jean Mary lifted her head to meet his gaze. From the moment their eyes met, Jan's face slowly descended to Jean Mary's level and his lips touched hers. Jean Mary was steady. She didn't refuse or kiss back. It was her first kiss. The same with Jan, Jan didn't know what to do and it was his first kiss too. They were suspended in that position for a few minutes.

After for a few minutes, Jean Mary moved so Jan and Jean's lips parted. They do not know what to say to each other and felt shy. So Jean Mary excused herself.

"Uhmm. Jan I will go back to my room to call Anne's parents if there are any news about Anne's whereabouts." She left immediately.

Jan couldn't believe what just happened. He was a neat freak but he was actually able to kiss Jean Mary. Furthermore, the confession that happened. Would it mean that the both of them are officially dating? These were the thoughts that were running in his head.Given the results, he was happy about what he did to Anne.
