Talking about… Work (3)

Feng Mian's face flushed a bit. She looked at Zhang Liang, intending to refuse, but he was looking back at her with his clear eyes. Swallowing back her words, Feng Mian began to speak about her childhood.

"It all began from a very small matter. My brother was quite famous in his class and got some chocolates. However, he's similar to you because he didn't want to accept. Then, there's someone who left it on his table with a message. He didn't recognize the initial and because it's quite expensive, he brought it home and gave it to me."

Feng Mian paused for a bit. "I remember that it's the one from your company because the logo is in the box after opening the wrapping. My brother gave it to me, and I enjoyed it because it's good. Since then, I always compared the chocolate your company makes with any other companies. The one from your company is the best in my opinion."

If she thought about it, it was actually kind of obvious. Back during the time Zhang Yi still managed the company, they had already climbed their way up with quality. When Zhang Liang took over, he directly slammed other companies and stayed at the very top then expanded it even more all over the country. That was how Feng Mian could work in his company too.

Zhang Liang nodded in understanding. "I'm happy to hear it."

"Huh?"

"Is it surprising?"

Feng Mian looked at Zhang Liang's expression. She could see that he looked a bit more relaxed than before. It seemed that he truly felt happy that she liked his company's sweet.

"Well, sometimes, it's a bit hard to expect you to feel happy and all."

"I'm also a human being," Zhang Liang mused. He felt that Feng Mian was a bit funny. At times, it seemed as if she was not looking at him like he was equal to her but some kind of high above that could not be a human being.

Hearing that, Feng Mian grinned. "My imagination is a bit too much at times."

"I see."

"May I ask what kind of image you want for the design?"

Zhang Liang arched his eyebrows. "Are you already thinking of doing your work from now?"

"Well, if you can give me some images, I might be able to start working on the design of the overall decoration. But I think that it would be better to use a circle glass box and only an additional box for smaller stores…"

"Please elaborate more."

"Ah, ok."

The two of them talked more about the design for the boxes. Feng Mian suggested that Zhang Liang used the transparent plastic boxes that he also used for most of the product. This time, make the shape to be circle.

Why not heart?

Well, hearts can be embarrassing to give to boys. Besides, it was harder to make the heart shape compared to a circle or box's shape. Afterwards, Feng Mian also told Zhang Liang about her own thoughts regarding the theme for the design.

Zhang Liang listened patiently. This was the first time he heard Feng Mian spoke so much. Usually, she would not talk so much to him.

"I see. That's quite an interesting concept."

"Is it?" Feng Mian's eyes lit up.

"Yes. I'll discuss it with others too. How do you get that idea?" Zhang Liang asked curiously.

Feng Mian smiled, her cheek reddened in embarrassment. It was actually something she thought when she was just a teenager, hoping for a romantic date with her future boyfriend.

"Just a thought when I was in high school."

"You're a creative little lady."

"That's why I enter art's section."

Zhang Liang nodded. "It's nearly midnight. You should get some sleep."

"Eh? It's already that late?" Feng Mian was stunned. She glanced up and noticed that the clock showed half past eleven. They finished their dinner when it was around seven to eight o'clock. Did it mean she spent hours talking about work with Zhang Liang?

She never thought that it would be possible for her to talk so much with Zhang Liang. After all, she knew that it was not easy for her to talk normally with Zhang Liang when she was so conscious of him.

Zhang Liang was amused when he saw Feng Mian's absent minded face. He stood up and tapped her forehead lightly. "You can treat me normally. There's no need to be so wary. Go to sleep first, I'll sleep later."

Feng Mian stayed still in her position until Zhang Liang disappeared to the next room. Her hand lightly rubbed her forehead.

She thought to herself. 'How can I not be wary when I know that you can make my life miserable with only one phone call? We're living in a completely different life, President Zhang.'

However, Feng Mian no longer dawdled in her thoughts and headed to the bathroom to brush her teeth and washed up. She wanted to have some sleep after this tiring day.
