Chapter 98: The power of a ranked

Perseus POV

"You 2 are getting along too nicely..." Eleanor said as soon as she got out from her room "I know you 2 got along the moment you return from the date, but please try to resist the urge to marry each other."

"Isn't this what friends do? We laze around and watch TV together."

"With her on your lap and your arms wrapped around her waist?" she asked "Please don't become my stepfather if you can help it."

"Don't say stepfather or step anything please, our readers are the degenerates who will make dirty jokes out of it. I prepared dinner already, you can help yourself, my sister and Struan will come later."

She then left us without saying a word, she then turned away to get herself the food I've prepared, at least I don't have to plate it for the royals like their servants.

"Stop squirming, will you?"

"Mmmm...hah...when I say to wrap your arm around...ahn~...why are you squeezing my...chest while your hands are under my..." she panted

"Weren't you the one who pulled my arms under there?"

"Not in ahn~, not in front of my daughter." she pleaded

"The fact that your eyes suggest that you like it scares me a bit...I thought you were tired and sore all over."

"Of course, I'm sore." she replied "I haven't had you for a while, you stretched me out with that stupidly huge-"

"Quiet, you don't want your daughter to hear us."

I then pulled my hands out as I can sense my sister and Struan arrived. I got myself out and went to greet my sister and Struan who are still discussing something outside.

"Perseus, the people are acting weird at the portal and on my way here, a spy of yours dropped me a picture of distant relatives of our culprits leaving." my sister said as she handed me the picture

"Stupid spies, can't they just text me the picture instead of doing all this. And we can't stop them from leaving either." Struan reported "Hoped you enjoyed your time, but we gotta move and be prepared to engage at any moment."

"I called your division over too." Diana added "I had them divided and stationed at the culprit's home and the portal since you already got spies at the world tree, well everywhere, but those guys are stronger anyway."

And at the moment, a spy of mine called me. But as soon as I picked up, I heard screams and carnage, through the explosions and other sound, I heard 'world tree' before the call got forcibly disconnected. I turned back to Valentina who just got a call and I can easily assume the worst.

I then warped the both of them to the world tree where the chaos was only to be greeted by the sight of their sacred landmark being destroyed and death everywhere. The world tree...is split into 2, something only a few named have the power to do.

Based of the mana signatures...it only just happened, like right before we warped here, the tree will obviously heal, but it will require a lot of resources since such a mystical existence will require the highest quality of magic while also needing a large quantity of it.

But the largest signature comes from this person that is enveloped in green light, the magic density coming off that person is off the charts, but at the same time, the power was so great that I can see bleeding cracks of the skin coming from that person.

The person is a light spirit emitting a bright green glow and their powers are like rising at an alarming rate while their body is deteriorating at the same rate and is being slowed down only by tons of healing magic that is applied to themselves while wearing tons of supporting accessories.

I'd give that person 3 hours at best before their body collapse and self distract, but all that power is coming from their heart, and when I inspect further...I can sense a small powerful fragment emitting all this power and it's been like lodged in their heart.

The person raised their hand into a chop and when they bring it down, the space in front of her got split by jade colored light. My sister then warped to the person and kept them busy to stop them from doing anything more.

I activated the eyes of Horus and can confirm that the piece is the fragment of jade that we've been looking for but from what I know of the jade fragment...I called Ezio to confirm it and he picked up immediately.

"Dude, have we manage to be able to forcefully power someone to having the power of that similar to Brennan or stronger by lodging a fragment of the jade to the heart?"

"No, we would have told you otherwise even though you should also know that we would have told you." he replied as I ended the call.

He should also be coming after he heard reports from the ones in my division. i detected strong mana coming from the jade fragment when I gave it to Emma, but not to this extend, this is ridiculous.

"I recognize that person..." Struan comment "Though not a named or a potential 100, they are a very accomplished and famous raider."

"And how the fuck does she have the power stronger than Brennan, what the hell is going on?"

"Are you sure? You've never been threatened by a non named before. She's a support mage, not a main fighter."

The person then summoned up an army of jade colored light golem, without anymore talking, Struan and I moved, he would help take care of that army alongside the royal guards while me and my sister take care of that person.

I warped them to only be intercepted by the person charging at me at high speed and her fist hit me in my jaw and I flew far away, but I warped in time before I hit anything.

If I didn't drink Hera's breastmilk, that hit would have easily dislocated my jaw...I'll actually thank her and...my birth mother later, but this power isn't natural, I'm not leaving her alive, I can't let the existence of the jade fragment be known to the public.
