It was pointless.
The strange man could say whatever he could, but Suyeong would not understand. California, what is that? She didn't know. It was all blank and empty words that fell on deaf ears.
Seeing how his words received no response, the man continued to smoke, quietly staring off into the distance with an exhausted gaze.
With another breath, he dropped his cigarette before stepping on it. "If you don't work for the boats or have no other business here. I'm gonna have to ask you to leave. The docks are technically supposed to be under restricted use right now."
Nodding, she said nothing else, simply moving past the man, stuck in her thoughts. She was told to find someone, that she could remember. But the Dragon God wasn't exactly vivid with its descriptions. Though he did say he was a mercenary of sorts.
She assumed someone who worked at the dock wouldn't know a thing about mercenaries, so she left to wander the streets of Gateway City.
Her eyes wandered about. Everyone was dressed much differently from her, more form-revealing clothing, some simply revealing clothing.
It was a strange sight, but she remembered how it wasn't that uncommon back in Solstratos.
Remembering her home, Suyeong paused in the middle of the street. Her thoughts had been removed from her home ever since she left, trying her best to keep the memories in the back of her head. It was hard to do so, so she continued moving.
Walking into a small shop, she hummed to herself at the items around her. Sweet confections unique to her, not being a fan of sweets, she left the store.
The sun was glaring down on her making apparent to her the carousel of thoughts circling her mind to figure out what the next step would be.
Being broken from her thoughts, there was a large explosion coming from deeper in the city. The cries and screams of people and the destruction of buildings had made their way into her ears-it was the sound of battle.
After a bout of contemplation, she decided to observe. For all she knew it could help her find the next step.
Turning the corner, she ducked as a body flew above her, crashing into the window of a storefront. Quirking a brow at the occurance, Suyeong turned to where it came, only for what she saw to be a grand spectacle.
Battling throughout the streets was a woman she could recognize as the child of Hippolyta. She stood her ground, battling a random assortment of individuals.
One such being a giant of a woman that was restling her body from the remains of a building she had crashed into, trying to reorganize herself.
Speeding past her, quickly recovering, the figure that was sent launching moments bared her claws with a swipe at the Amazon. The claw bearing taking the appearance of a feral woman, practically in the nude, her skin and eyes like that of a cheetah.
She grit her teeth with a low growl as she continued slashing at the Amazon, who simply dodged with little effort. Outclassing the woman by miles.
Taking her eyes off the Cheetah cosplayer, Suyeong watched as a small scragly man standing a bit away from the brawl, wipe blood from his forhead before rubble from the around them begin to levitate, being thrown towards the Amazon.
She mused at having the ability to send rocks flying with simply a thought, it was quite the ability, yet the man seemed to lack the creative mind to use it correctly.
Leaping away the two women returned to their dance before a giant fist slammed on their position, only to be caught and tossed away. Seemingly having enough of the trio, the Amazon sent a powerful blow to the Cheetah's stomach making her heave for air and fall to her knees.
Jumping into the air, she uppercut the giantess with great fury sending the large woman tumbling back, punching her into the face finally sending the woman collapsing on her back.
Looking at the two downed women, the Amazon looked at the small man with a grimace on her face, "That's enough Doctor. This sensless battle is over, simply turn yourself over to the authorites." She calmly spoke in an authorive tone, her resignation for the altercation slightly apparent.
The man snorted as more rubble rose around the two, "Even the thought that you could command me disgusts me." As he finished, before he could even attempt to send them flying, a golden rope tightly wrapped around, the rubble returning to the ground in response.
Swiftly incapacitating the man, her lasso returned to her hip. Turning around, the Amazon sighed furrowing her brows at the expected sight of the Cheetah no longer being there.
Eyes surveying the vacinity, she watched the giantess begin to revert in size, before noticing Suyeongs's figure leaning against a wall watching her with vivid interest.
Turning away from the woman, she looked at the sight of Police and D.M.A. arrived at the scene, nodding at the officer in charge before approaching the strange woman whose eyes remained on her as she approached.
Scanning her figure, she took note of her cultural garb and the tree like scars along her hands and cheek, "Far too unique for a simple civilian. Far too silent for a villain." She remarked. "Tell me what illicits such an audience?" She questioned, a disarming smile spread across her face.
Staring the woman up and down, she kept a frown from tugging at her lips, she could tell this woman was threatening as Hippolyta was back then, perhaps even more so.
She tapped her fingers on the strap of her bag, "You are..."
"Wonder Woman."
Nodding in understanding, she spectated the destruction caused by the superpowered scuffle, merely nodding at the sight of it; it seemed to be a regular occurance.
"I have come to visit a friend, you were not my destination, but your presence can serve my purpose well enough." Suyeong declared.
Raising her brows at her, Wonder Woman searched her recent memories for someone that reminded her of the woman but she ran to a blank. "How may I assist you then." Not ignoring the strangness of the woman, she wished to learn of her purpose.
Kicking off of the wall, she looked off into the distance before returninf her attention to Wonder Woman, "A friend. A dead friend. His name is lost to you, but it is eternal. Though that is neither her nor there, you may recognize him as the Dragon that caused chaos some time ago."
"...A friend of the Dragon. What do you want?" Alarmed at the revelation, a sense of serious took hold of her features readying for a sudden burst of combat, but she held off at the mix of emotions running though the woman's eyes.
"I have no wish to fight." She stated. "I know of your work in," She hesitated, her reluctance clear to Wonder Woman. "Ending his life. But no, I simply wish to see the grave. The one you made, if you would take me."
Hearing the sense of eagerness in her voice. Wonder Woman simply nodded with a look of regret, "Follow me."
...
Standing infront of what could be counted as a regular of no importance, Suyeong knelt, her hands feeling the dirt under her. She could feel the remains of her friend beneath it.
With a thought she shifting the Dragon scale, pulling a dagger from her side before using it to carve the same words from the grave she made on Solstratos before returning the dagger to the scale garb.
Paying no mind to the woman standing behind her, she placed her hands upon the dirt once more, closing her eyes, she let out a breath. Her hands glowed a brilliant golden light, small chants in the language of Dragons slipping through her lips.
As the light disappeared, she gripped her necklace. "Forgive me, we will have to adventure together later than planned. I will make the one responsible for this suffer the fate you have."
"I thought you didn't want to fight?" Finally reminding the woman of her presence. Even at the face of her question, her expression wasn't one wary, but sympathy, regret, guilt, and understanding.
Suyeong dryly chuckled before turning to face her, "You misunderstand, Princess." She shook her head. "You and my friend were simply a means to an end. Pawns of a higher being made to fight for either their crude goals or for simple entertainment."
A serious look fell to her face as she took her words seriously. "What do you mean, do you know who was behind his rage? Surely you aren't thinking about fighting such a being."
"That is the most I know."
Frowning at the information, she thought of informing the league of this, but decided to refrain until things were certain. "Then I must go, I will be watching you-"
"Suyeong."
She smiled, "Very well, Suyeong. I will be watching you, don't be afraid to call if you're ever in need of assistance."
For a moment she was surprised before small smile came to Suyeong's lips at the offer, "Thank you, but this is something I must do myself. I will bring them down to my level and make sure they get their just deserts."
Nodding her way, Wonder Woman took off in flight. Watching her fly away, her eyes flared gold, "Even if I have to burn the world down in the process." She muttered.
