She spent the rest of her working day thinking of what Sandra had said to her. The woman knew her secret. Chinwem was sure that she was just doing whatever she was doing to scare her off and she refused to be scared of like a little scared cat. She also doubted that Clement had any secret he wasn't telling her or any that if she pried he wouldn't tell her. She wondered what made Clement to ditch Sandra and was a hundred percent sure that it was the woman's fault that it had happened. She thought of asking Clement about the woman but thought better of it. She knew Clement well enough. He would go and confront the spiteful bitch and she might loosen her mouth, rat her out and enjoy doing so. No! She would not give the copper head that satisfaction. This matter, of Sandra and their chance meeting –she wondered if it really was or if the copper head had planned this and tailed her- would be swept under the carpet till a suitable time. If the woman didn't strike, she wouldn't act.

By the time work was over, she had completely obliterated everything about her unfortunate meeting with Sandra out of her mind. He was there to walk her home as usual when she was off her round and she wondered yet again if he never ever had work to do. He always had too much time to spare. She did not confront him on the matter because the last time she did, he had told her bluntly that he had nothing important except her. He had said that every other thing can wait for her if the need arises. She had pushed the matter and he had flared up. He had told her that she was number one in his life that was why it was so and that if she saw anything wrong in such, then she didn't see him the way he saw her. He had left angrily after that. She had chased him in a bid to pacify him but he was having none of it. It had taken three apologies and one impromptu kiss to calm him down. She had learned to keep her mouth shut after that.
'Meseems you dance a hundred times better when I am there my sweet,' he told her, taking her hand bag and her makeup box from her as they walked to his car which he always parked just close by so no one would chance upon them leaving unless he or she was a dancer.
'How are you so sure?' she said.
'Do you doubt me?' he asked. She stared at him with raised brows. 'Are you being serious right now?' he asked her again with a huge grin on his face. She smiled before she replied him.
'You know that you always make up these theories that only you seem to believe. At first I thought you were insane, a deranged stalker until I got to know you well. It was then that I knew that it was all thanks to your lawyer blood.'
'Are you for real?' he asked her. She smiled then shrugged care freely.
'You know, it is as they say. "You can take the lawyer out of the court, but you can't take the law principle out of the blood" period,' she quoted. He grinned, happily.
'If my hands weren't full, I would have applauded you. You may not know it Mon Coeur, but my lawyer blood has invaded yours. It has rubbed off on you quite badly,' he informed her with another remarkable wolfish grin.
'That is another theory,' she said as they arrived at the car. He opened it and put her things away in the back seat. Then, he played the gentleman and helped her into the car. He got in alongside her and ignited the car.
'How sure you are that it is not a fact,' he said to her as he drove out.
'I'm certus sure, as sure as my catamenia,' she told him with surety. He gave her a quick look of surprise.
'You are that sure or is your womanly thing not always on time?' he teased her. She laughed then, happy yet offended at the same time.
'Clement,' she warned him, 'stop teasing me. My -whatever you called it- is as punctual as ever,' she revealed to him. They laughed together, playing and having loads of fun as they journeyed to her home in the beautiful gloaming. They arrived at her home in no time. He brought the automobile to a stop afore her house and turned off the ignition.
'We have arrived,' he told her as if she did not know so. He turned and stared squarely at her. His gaze was bare and blunt, passion highlighting them. She nearly began to squirm under his gaze. She began to look elsewhere but into his eyes. 'Chloe,' he called and her eyes wandered back to his, drawn.
'Is there any problem?' she managed to ask when he did nothing other than stare at her for a couple of minutes. She was beginning to grow hot and bothered –just like how Melody her sister always described to her and Corinne as what she felt when handsome men gave her the come hither eyes- under his heated gaze.
'There might be,' he said. Her breath caught in her throat when his hands reached for her, caressing her face, her hair, her neck. She felt the blood rush to her head, carrying with it desire, making her drunk on the intense emotion. She closed her eyes as his fingers traced her collarbones then her cleavage.
'There is?' was her reply.
'Yes my sweet,' he said nodding. 'Chloe,' he began, 'I want you.' Now, she didn't know how to reply to that. 'I want you too much. I think of nothing but you all the time. I miss you all the time, when you are there and when you are not, like now. I already miss you though you have yet to leave. I worry whenever I am not with you for if something happens to you, it does so to me. J'ai jete un oeil a tu pour toi a Mon Coeur. You are my heart. La demander rien etre amoureux de toi, it took nothing Mon amour to do so. Enfait, Desormais, je ne demande pas mieux que toi,' he told her. She understood nothing he was saying, yet it felt as if the sweet words caressed her inner soul, making her yearn for him even more than he did her. But, she was not ready yet, not prepared for what he wanted from her. He would have to wait. She leaned into the backseat quickly and retrieved her things, aware that he was watching her intently.
'Goodnight,' she told him and hurried away. He watched her go with hungry, ravenous eyes but did nothing to stop her. He was not some selfish bastard who would press her into such. She was most probably a virgin, a truth very hard to believe for a pole dancer. But, he knew his hunch was right. Anyways, she would be ready at some point in time and he would be extremely content to wait till then. She was worth it.
