"If we were just married, then this night would have been of a lot of passion and memories to look back to as we consummated it." I joked as we are dinner at a cabin that night.
I wasn't trying to cheer Aya up, but I too was trying to cope with everything as I had lost someone close to me.
Death is always a curious thing as we know that our life is limited and that one day we will end up six feet under. Never to wake up again.
Yet, it is always a surprise when it happens to some we know. It is like walking down the stairs from your bedroom in the dark and thinking there is one more stair than there is. Your foot falls down through the air, and there is a sickly moment of dark surprise as you try and readjust the way you thought of things.
"Hey, you seem too hyped today. And you sure got jokes, but you should get it out before it eats you up from the inside." Aya raised the glass of wine and gulped it all down in one breath after saying that.
