Geoffrey smiled at the reference to Fuzzy Yellow Socks, recalling the scene in which Austin, a professional football player, trips over his girlfriend’s cat and stubs his toe a few days before the big game. The girlfriend, Amanda, is the first to buy the socks, so Austin can “Pamper Those Tootsies,” as the show tune suggests. She even has them monogrammed, but Austin, too embarrassed to wear such “girly” socks in front of his teammates, drops them off at a thrift store, where they meet their next owner.
