Wisp had made a new contract with Syrup. It wasn't a harsh contract or even a slick contract. Wisp knew how little he knew about the world. So, he made a contract with Syrup demanding she come by once at the end of every month, she would come by and inform him about everything that was happening in the lands and everything she came across in her journey.

It's been four months since this time, they happily welcome Syrup into their weird family. Syrup thought they were an odd bunch and just really wanted to use them as a business interaction, but she quickly fell in love with the house, the plateau, and her new coworkers. Sometimes, she'd even stay overnight. She'd have various activities with them like training with Argriss in self-defense and playing fetch with Midro.

In the present, Wisp and Syrup were walking at the table.

"I have a question. Why didn't you kill Leonard?"

"Who?"

"The nobleman you saved me from?"

"Oh. I didn't because if I did, in the middle of a populated village no less, it would risk the lives of my family. If the kingdom found out what happened to him, they would find me and put my friends at risk."

"That's... actually kind of noble."

"It wasn't a noble motivation. I'm just selfish and hate being lonely. Anyways, I take it you'll be leaving now?"

"Yeah, I guess so. I gotta get back on the trade lane. There's a new ore mine no one has entered yet. If I can trade off those mythril ores, I'll be set for life... or a few years in this economy."

"Isn't it dangerous?"

"Yeah, but that's the fun part! The thrill and the danger of dying fill me with addictive adrenaline. I love it!

"You're crazy."

"Oh, and before Ingo, one more thing. There's a small lake about three miles out to the west. It would be a great place to grind some experience since I've noticed your levels have been stagnant in the last 2 months. And at the bottom of the lake, I felt a powerful and lonely presence. You may want to check it out."

"Thank you."

Syrup left while nonchalantly waving her hand off to Wisp. Wisp walked outside. He saw Argriss training Midro. Ever since the village, she's kept the sword from the knight. It was a mythril sword that could nullify magic attacks. It was an A-tank item. Wisp knew they were very lucky to get it, even if he didn't understand item ranking in this world. However, Midro wouldn't give the sword to anyone unless Wisp was washing it or she was playing fetch with it.

Argriss swung his longsword, hammer, and axe all in quick succession. Midro jumped onto Argriss' long sword and dodged the hammer by jumping onto the hit. She then counters the axe with a blow from her own sword. However, this allowed Argriss to smack Midro off of his hammer with his other free hand.

"Again." He said strictly.

Midro threw the sword in the air in front of her. She started running with the sword flying up above her. As the sword began coming down, she launched a powerful fireball from her mouth. Which Argriss had to block with his axe and hammer.

Midro took this chance to strike. She jumped up and caught the sword in her mouth in midair. She stroked the sword down at Argriss. He quickly turned around and his carapace stopped the sword strike. His carapace was so hard, Midro's sword bounced right off of it and she fell onto her back on the ground. She got back up again.

"Again."

"Hey guys." Wisp said while walking up behind them.

"Oh, my liege. Good to see you. I saw Syrup leave a few minutes ago. How did your meeting go."

"Well. Tomorrow, I want to investigate a lake. If you want to come, you're welcome to, but if you want to stay, I'll be back the next day."

"Let me think about it. I might spend tomorrow trying to learn a new skill I'll unlock at the next level.

[Argriss, Cavernoid. Level 29.]

[Midro, Volane Kitsune. Level 23.]

Both had gotten stronger. Both had trained the same, but Midro's level went up faster. This gave Wisp two pieces of information. The higher the level you have, the harder it is to get stronger, and different creatures grow at different rates at different times. After all, he was level 26 currently and Igneous was level 31.

"My liege, I have a question."

"What?"

"Do you plan on having offspring?"

"Where did that come from?!"

"For a cavernoid like me, we are designed to protect whatever family we swear loyalty to. So, I was wondering if I should prepare for..."

"I've never had sex and I don't have a wife right now."

"Ok, what if we find you one?"

"Huh?"

"Big or small?"

"What?"

"If I'm not mistaken, human makes like human woman-like breasts. So, big or small?"

"Oh my gosh, shut up!"
