The Pride That Was Stepped On

Joseph and Lucinda fuming breath could be heard the moment Amber was closer. They were dissatisfied when they saw only Amber came to see them.

"I'm sorry to disappoint all of you, but Madam Ruby is not well. She couldn't attend any guests at this moment." Amber politely informed them.

Joseph sneered. He stood up and glared at Amber, "So she decided not to entertain us anymore?"

"As I told you JUST NOW, she is not well." Amber once again told them the truth. She understood their side, but their visit this time was not polite. They should have at least called before coming. Just because Ruby likes Larisa, they started to behave like they could do anything. "You can just tell me the reason for this visit." Amber asked, remaining standing.

Lucinda felt annoyed, she suddenly laughed in disbelief. "Breaking the engagement over the phone call, are we that low?!"
