I and Me

Roxy, on her bed, was thinking about life. She was thinking what life is and what is the purpose of life. As she remembered her past, she was the only daughter of a millionaire business oriented parents. Although, she got everything she wanted in her life, the only thing she craved was her parent's love. They were busy since she was born and she grew up under nannies and babysitters.

As she used to miss her parents all the time, she never actually interacted with her caretakers in a friendly way, neither did her caretakers. They would just do what she said, cook her food and clean up behind her.

Roxy, now 16, had left the school on her own will and was taking online classes. She hated talking to people and being social in any means. Seeing the introvert she was, her mother started to worry. Although, her mother, Mrs Williams, had never cared about the personality of her daughter, which she believed will eventually develop with time, now she was stressed about her daughter's limited lifestyle.

In a daze, Roxy was sitting on her dresser and brushing her hair when the door of her room knocked. Hearing the sound of knocking door was a not everyday thing for Roxy, as she never talked to anybody so nobody would come to her. "Yes, come in", she answered. Her mother entered the room with a worry on her face which she was hiding with a fake smile. "What are you doing, sweetie?" she asked Roxy. "Oh! Nothing, just brushing my hair. What about you? Did you have something to tell me?" Roxy replied. "Honey, listen to me carefully..."
