Blood Boiling

Inside the Conference room, Tamara was still waiting for Kate. They've already interviewed a number of applicants. She left the other resumes on her table earlier so she asked Kate to bring it over. But it has already been 5 minutes and still no sign of Kate or another Lab technician.

"Excuse me for a moment." Tamara excused herself. "I'll go check outside." The other interviewers nodded.

She left the Conference room and looked left and right to find Kate or another Lab technician from her department.

"How shameless of you to even be here?! After the crap that you did back at Hopton Research Institute, you have the guts to even come here? Isn't endangering the patients' lives more than enough?" Tamara heard a loud voice several feet from her. It was obvious the speaker intentionally said it so others will hear.

Tamara was dismayed. They're conducting interviews and then a scene like this happens. She has no time for this trouble.

Tamara approached the persons involved. As she went closer, she recognized Diana who was holding the files with her hand while the speaker still grasped Diana's other arm tightly.

"I said. Let. me. go." Diana clenched her teeth.

Clara scoffed. "No. You leave this place! You have no right to be here!"

"My gosh. What is she doing?" one of the applicants said.

"Is it true that the other one endangered the patients' lives?" another asked.

"What? If that is true then she shouldn't be here." another said.

Clara smirked, hearing that others are taking notice.

"Diana. Why not just leave? Don't cause a scene here." Bryan said.

Some people heard this and looked strangely at Bryan.

'Exactly who is the one causing a scene? Since earlier, you guys have bullied the other applicants as well!'

"Ms. Holt. I advise that you let me go this instant and stop slandering me. Or I will add another case against you." Diana's eyes blazed in anger. She didn't want to cause a scene and she doesn't want her reputation to be destroyed by her again.

At this, Clara loosened her grip on Diana's arm and Diana was able to shake it off entirely.

"Are you threatening me? Diana! You have a lot of nerve!" Clara tried to grab Diana again but before she was able to, Bryan held Clara back. "Bryan! Why are you stopping me? Don't you remember what trouble she did?"

"I know Clara. But just calm down." Bryan tried to pacify her. It was not because he wanted to stop Clara from humiliating Diana. It was because he noticed that someone was approaching them.

Tamara cleared her throat.

"Ahemmm....What is happening here?" she asked calmly.

Clara whipped her neck and faced the woman who spoke.

Seeing that the woman was wearing a lanyard ID, she can guess that the person is an employee of the company.

"It's her. She shouldn't be here. She endangered patients' lives back at the Institute where she worked." Clara complained.

Tamara frowned. She has already investigated this after their boss Mr. Lucas Ingram told her to evaluate the applicants thoroughly and even asked to be notified if there was anybody applying for a job from Hopton Research Institute. From what she has gathered, Mr. Cook and Ms. Holt were suspended and Ms. Winchester resigned from the Institute. It was Mr. Taylor himself who told her to call Diana to work for them. And from investigating their case, she found out that the famous lawyer is also their boss's personal lawyer Atty. Hector Pierpont even represented Diana with her case against Ms. Holt.

"This is a Research Institute and everybody here is for the interview," Tamara stated. Her voice is loud and clear.

"Yes. I know that. That's why I'm here. But this person was cutting in line first. And on top of that, she shouldn't have thought of coming here in the first place." Clara insisted. She sneered at Diana. If she could, she would spit on Diana at that moment. Because of her, she was detained in prison at that time. If not for Bryan finding a way to who knows how long would she have to face it all alone.

Bryan told her about Atty. Pierpont showing up that time. She couldn't believe that a low person like Diana could get Atty. Pierpont to be her lawyer. She was green with envy.

"Miss. It's true. Diana was here cutting in line first. Clara merely stopped her on account of the other applicants who have stood in line for hours." Bryan supported Clara.

"Cutting in line? Why would she cut in line?" Tamara raised an eyebrow. 'Has Diana been delayed because of these two clowns?'

Clara scoffed. "Are you joking with me? Of course, it's to get ahead of the applicants here."

She kept pointing at them with her finger.

Tamara shook her head. "I advise you to stop making a scene. You are troubling the other applicants."

At this the applicants who were just listening to the exchange felt that something was off. It was as if the person who spoke just now were warning the other. She had a voice full of authority. It's telling the others not to mess with her.

'Could that be our interviewer?'

'Ah! I recognize her voice. She was the one who called me and told me I could show up for the interview.'

"I can't believe this. Bryan, why don't you call Mr. Taylor? He is the President's Assistant after all. He can help settle this." Clara smugly suggested.

Bryan gulped. He never expected Clara to suggest something like that. He doesn't have a that close relationship with Mr. Taylor. How can he ask for help?

Clara was not sure if Mr. Taylor can help them or not. After all, the man could be busy carrying out the President's orders.

But at the mention of the President's Assistant, the people around whispered among themselves. Those two people actually have connections to the higher-ups.

It was unclear who would get in trouble. The employee or the people who knew the higher-ups.

If it were up to them, Bryan and Clara should have been the ones reprimanded. They are the ones who started this.

Tamara's blood boiled.
