Shameless

Tamara was about to lose the last bits of patience she has. She had already planned this day so it would go smoothly, and these two have made a mess of things here.

When she did a background check on Bryan Cook and Clara Holt after sensing her boss's attitude at the mention of Hopton Research Institute, she was only looking at it from a perspective of an employee only doing her job.

Now facing these two people harassing Diana Winchester, she can't help but feel empathy towards Diana.

She did a background check on Diana before right after her speedy hiring. She knows that Diana is always top of her class and even graduated top of her year. Mr. Taylor only told her to offer a job to Diana. As she was about to follow the order, she found that Ms. Winchester submitted an application. She was even recommended by a notable professor. This professor has recommended graduates before and the ones that he recommended are all good workers. Even after getting hired, they stayed humble. So upon seeing that, Tamara gladly called Diana herself. So far she has no reason to express dissatisfaction. Diana quietly does her work and she gets along well with other employees.

Now that she has seen it in her own eyes, she can't help but be protective of Diana. She won't let Diana be bullied for a second time. After all, what kind of Manager is she to let her own employees suffer an injustice?

"Mr. Cook, Ms. Holt. There is no need for you to stay here for the interview. You may leave the premises." Tamara said coldly.

The people around sucked in their breath when they heard her say this. They awaited what's to come next on this brewing drama.

She has no time for niceties with shameless people.

"Wh-wha..what?!" Clara's mouth gaped open like a fish. She pointed her finger at Tamara shakily. "Who are you to say that to us?!"

The bystanders were shocked at the turn of events. They all huddled in the corner, trying to avoid getting involved. They can't risk taking any sides as they don't know who has the upper hand. One is an employee of the Institute while the other two claim to know the President's Assistant.

"Ms. Holt. It's better if you both leave now and stop making a scene." Tamara gave them one last warning.

Bryan frowned. He can't believe that this person would try to kick them out. He has never experienced this before.

He has been a Manager for a number of years and has forgotten what it's like to be a common employee. He has already developed a big ego after being flattered by employees who want to gain benefits from him.

"Wow. You are one brave woman. It's a shame to meet one like you in these circumstances." Bryan said, menacingly. He sneered at her.

Tamara's hands clenched into fists. She whipped out her phone and made a call to the Security's Office.

"How dare you!!!" Clara shrieked and was about to slap Tamara when a girl in glasses blocked her. She moved so fast and held Clara's wrist tightly. The latter tried to pull her hand away but it was gripped tightly.

Clara winced in agony.

The girl dropped Clara's hand harshly. "I dare you to do it again." She warned.

Clara remembered that this is the girl that appeared so meek before.

Beside the girl, Diana and Tamara were amazed at the speed and strength of this girl. If it weren't because of how serious the situation is, they would have clapped for her in amazement.

Tamara glanced at the visitor's ID that the girl was wearing. Katherine Atwood. She took note of her.

Clara ran up to Bryan trying to seek comfort. "Bryan, do something. This is going to leave a bruise on me." Clara pouted, making her eyes teary.

Bryan pulled her close, massaging her wrist. He gritted his teeth.

"Aren't you afraid we'll sue you for your violence?" Bryan yelled.

At this, those bystanders couldn't keep shut anymore. 'What violence? The one who tried to attack was the woman beside him first.'

"What the heck! That woman he's with was the one who tried to slap the employee!" One of them voiced out.

"Yeah! Everybody here saw that! The girl in glasses only defended them." Another said.

"These people. Just because they know the President's Assistant, they think they can bully anyone." One more stated. "Tsk."

"So shameless!"

"You both should leave already! Quit making a ruckus here!"

"If you both are only here to mess around, then just leave."

"Didn't they mention that they were from Hopton Research Institute?" One applicant remembered Clara mention it and whispered to the person beside him.

"Oh yeah. Hold on, let me call my sis who works there. Let's see if what they said was true. My sis works in HR." The person said and called his sister.

"Hey sis. Do you know people in your Institute involved in endangering patients' lives lately? There are two people here confronting another one. The two people got the surnames Holt and Cook. Do you know?"

"Geez.. I'm not supposed to tell you about this stuff. But you said they confronted someone? Hmm. That person must be Ms. Winchester. Anyway, all I can say is Ms. Winchester is innocent in all of these."

They ended the call.

"Anything?" the other person asked.

The male applicant nodded. "They should be taken away. They're so shameless for harassing an innocent."

The other applicants heard it and they whispered it to others.

"Hey, someone knows those two.. actually, they're..."

"What?! And they dare to come here and make trouble for the other girl?! So shameless!"

Bryan could feel hostility and disgust from the applicants' eyes. It's obvious that they've already gossiped with each other and decided that him and Clara are the villains.

He became more furious. "Just you wait!" He whipped out his phone and searched for Assistant Ethan Taylor's contact details.

Just then the Security guards arrived.

"Ms. Silva" one of the security guards greeted.

"Please take those two away. They're causing a commotion here." Tamara said.

No other questions asked, the two security guards approached Bryan and Clara.

Clara shrieked as Bryan shielded her.
