Return To Hundred Man Town

The black skeleton was amazed by the mysterious axe. It could not believe that such a thing was possible. It stood up slowly and began digging its way out of the mine. With its new power, the entire process was very swift. The skeleton barely used any power. It did not dig directly upwards. It dug a few kilometers away from the mine before slowly going upwards. It understood that by now, its actions would have attracted powerful people to the sight. It was not arrogant enough to think itself powerful enough to face all the humans of this world .After just a few minutes, the skeleton got out of the earth.

Its hand burst out of the ground. What followed was searing pain.Pain only an undead creature like it could ever experience . The skeleton quickly retreated and stayed buried beneath the cold earth. This was because it was still daytime. Even after its breakthrough, the skeleton was still confined to the darkness.

The skeleton did not have a sense of time. To it, a few hours were no different from a few seconds. It was immortal and so it did not have the worries of the mortals. With its patience, it could remain buried for countless centuries without becoming bored.

The skeleton stayed in the darkness and examined the axe. It did not know how the axe had gotten into its chest but it did not dwell on this issue.

The more it read through the characters written on the axe, the more it realized that all this information had been extracted from its memories. This information was regarding increasing its power. This meant that with enough information about increasing power, the skeleton would only need corpse qi and the axe would work on the rest. When it came to this realization, the skeleton found a craving for knowledge to grow in its very core. This craving grew very fast. The skeleton found itself growing anxious for the sun to go down. It knew that the humans seemed to have more information than it did. This made humans the perfect source for the information it craved so dearly. It wanted to get as much information as it could so that it could increase its power. It did not have any particular reason for seeking power other than the simple fact that it wanted power.

The skeleton also realized that it would need to collect more corpse qi. This meant killing as many humans as possible.

When the sun went down a few hours later, the skeleton crawled out of the ground . It was a full moon, but this made little difference to the skeleton since it could see in the darkness .In fact, the moon was a hindrance. It made the skeleton visible limiting its night activities.

It stood there without doing anything for over two minutes. It was sensing its surroundings looking for humans. It finally sensed a large gathering of human auras a few minutes run away from the spirit mine. The skeleton had gotten this skill to sense for living beings in its vicinity from the axe .On the axe ,this skill was labeled Life Sense .

The skeleton looked in that direction before it began running like the wind towards the location.

It took less than ten minutes for the skeleton to reach its destination.

It was a small town called 'Hundred Man Town'.

When the skeleton saw the town gates, it felt as though the place was very familiar to it.

In truth, this was the town where Wu Yi had lived for a very long time.

He did not have any good memories in this town but it had left a scar on his soul.

The skeleton stopped running and began slowly walking toward the town. It held its sinister-looking axe making it more menacing. When it reached a few meters away from the gate, it shoved the feeling of familiarity out of its mind and concentrated on the task before it.

This time, it did not simply want to kill. It needed to gather information.

For this reason, barging in through the gates would be the wrong choice. The skeleton bent its knees slightly and jumped upwards towards the town walls. The walls were ten meters tall but this height seemed to be nothing before the power of the skeleton.

It gently landed on the walls. It wanted to avoid anything that would attract attention. When it turned around, it saw a human soldier who stood there paralyzed with fear. He looked at the skeleton as though it were the ripper incarnate. The skeleton was surprised to have not sensed this human.

Shhhhhh, the human peed himself wetting the floor. When he was done, his instincts kicked in. He opened his mouth to scream and at the same time, began turning around to flee.

The skeleton was not about to let some human ruin its plans.

Shwaaa, the skeleton swung its axe just once. This was enough to split the human from head to toe. The body moved a few steps away before falling apart. Blood splashed all over the ground.

To prevent the humans from becoming startled by this death, the skeleton decides to clean up the crime scene. As its cultivation grew, the skeleton became more intelligent. It knelt and grabbed the body with its bony left hand.

It then circulated its qi in a specific manner. The human corpse on the floor began rapidly decomposing. In less than a minute, only dust was left on the floor. Even the blood had been absorbed. The skeleton felt a strand of Corpse Qi enteri ng its body before going to its core that was hidden behind the sternum. It sense a change on the axe and when it looked at it ,it saw that more information had appeared .

Corpse Qi:One unit .

The skeleton had learned this skill from the information on the axe.

It was called Decomposition.

It allowed the skeleton to rapidly decompose living things with its touch and in so doing ,it is able to gather Corpse Qi much faster .

When it was done, the skeleton searched the nearby guard post but the only useful thing it found was a dark cloak. The skeleton covered itself with the cloak and then jumped into the town.

Hundred Man Town was a small town but it was densely populated. The skeleton was overwhelmed by the countless tantalizing human auras. The skeleton decided not to go too deep into the town just in case it needed to make a quick exit. It saw a small house next to the town wall and decided to begin there.
