The skeleton looked through the unknown technique and the more it looked, the more it understood how terrifying the battle axe was.

The skeleton decided to try out and upgrade the technique.

It placed its hand on the upgrade area next to the technique.

The axe let out a bright crimson light that engulfed the skeleton from head to toe.

The skeleton felt its corpse qi draining at a fast pace.

The darkness qi in the small grey sphere behind its sternum began rotating faster than ever.

The skeleton realized that this sphere was very similar to the Spirit possessed by the humans.

It was a bit different but it was close enough.

For over a minute, the skeleton was engulfed by the red light. The young girl had woken up and she now watched the skeleton in terror.

When the light disappeared, all the corpse qi was used up and the unknown technique was now at level one.

The skeleton felt as though it had become a much more powerful being. Its bones were larger and denser. The skeleton had been black but it was now beyond that. Very little light that fell on it bounced off the skeleton.

It had grown taller to reach seven feet tall and what looked like claws were beginning to grow on its toes and fingers.

The red light in its sockets was brighter and much more sinister.

When the skeleton looked at the young girl, it could now clearly see her instead of seeing only in red.

For the first time, it could see all the colors of the world.

It looked around the house and when it looked at the girl once again, it could only see her life force. The skeleton was surprised by this development. It seemed that the technique also incorporated aspects of the two skills, life sense and decomposition.

The skeleton looked at the battle axe and read through the details.

The skeleton could understand life force vision and rapid decomposition but he did not have any information on the dark blade. The moment it thought about the dark blade, information about the skill flooded its mind. After this, the skeleton felt as though it had used this skill (Dark Blade) for countless years.

The skeleton swung its hand like a blade and it released a half-moon-shaped concentration of darkness Qi. The blade cut through the walls of the house and disappeared out of view.

The skeleton and the young girl looked at the sixty-centimeter cut left in the wall. The skeleton looked on with desire while the human girl with fear.

The skeleton thought about the other two skills and its mind was filled with information about them. It felt like it had cultivated these skills forever.

The skeleton then realized that it needed more Corpse Qi.

With more corpse qi, it could continue to grow in power. The skeleton loved the feeling of becoming more powerful.

It looked at the girl and for the hundredth time, it considered decomposing the girl.

It gave up on this idea. The girl was too weak. Even if it were to decompose her, she would not produce any worthwhile Corpse Qi.

It walked towards the girl. She struggled as much as she could but the ropes around her body were too strong and she was too weak.

The skeleton untied her hands and removed the cloth around her mouth. The skeleton wrote down on a piece of paper telling the girl to eat the food. She was very hungry but she was also terrified and traumatized. She had witnessed the skeleton brutally kill her parents.

She looked at the food. She wanted the food but she did not know what to do.

The skeleton went back to its seat and continued comprehending the Wind Blade technique.

The more comprehension it had, the more it could upgrade its unknown technique. This technique was birthed from its knowledge making this one of the two crucial things it needed to increase its power.

The skeleton did not care whether the girl ate the food or not.

It sat in silence and comprehended the Wind Blade Skill.

When morning came, the skeleton finally looked at the young girl.

She had given in and eaten some of the food. The skeleton had stolen enough food for ten men. There was no way she could finish it all.

She had fallen asleep in the chair. Every now and then, she would scream out loud. She was having nightmares but the skeleton thought that this was what all humans did at night.

 As the skeleton was busy reading through the Wind Blade skill, the Fei mansion was in uproar. Fei Yong, the master of the Fei family had mysteriously disappeared overnight. His primary wife, Ao Ngo had woken up to find him missing from their bedroom. She had a last thought that he had woken up early but she knew her husband quite well. He likes to have sex before going to sleep and early in the morning. In all their six years of marriage, this had never changed. Ao Ngo had immediately searched the mansion and when Fei Yong was nowhere to be seen, Ao Ngo had declared an emergency. All the guards were questioned and those found in any fault were taken to the dungeons for further interrogation.

When all the information was finally collected and analyzed, it became clear that Fei Yong had not left his bedroom. The case became more troublesome with time. Some even began suspecting Ao Ngo of killing her husband.

Everyone knew that Ao Ngo had been forced to marry Fei Yong by her family. The mayor was informed and the local prefects were called in to investigate the matter but even these experienced government officials found nothing. The only thing they achieved was clearing Ao Ngo's name of any wrongdoing.

After this, security in the mansion was tightened even further. The skeleton had not thought of such a thing happening so fast. Ao Ngo even hired the prefects to provide security for a few days just in case something else was to happen.
