Chapter 5
On several attempts to save Nova none seemed to work leaving her trapped for possibly all eternity even with Whis giving her a rare check up those eventually became rare and intimately stopped as there was no hop on saving her from this trap forced to be alone losing all of her senses in the past 7 year that few by with no food or water as the magic that kept her trapped in that place refused to let this kill her even though she looked extremely malnourished and easy to brake only growing a few good inches after turning 10 a few weeks ago without realizing it missing her family and friends way more than expected like who wouldn't?
"mama, papa, Gohan, Goten.. Bunny" Nova thought to herself as her mind was blank unsure of how she was to feel after being stuck in this blank place for so long and yet her power hadn't decreased since she first was brought here. "I miss you Bunny.. papa" she thought once again until a presence Nova never sensed before appeared a few feet away from her and these ratchet chains that held her for so long.
"Oh my, you look absolutely horrible all skinny and bony.. *sighs* You poor child do not deserve this, i know that for a fact" Azura's voice making Nova look up immediately wide eyed in surprise seeing the angel with a rather merciful expression while keeping her happy side through that anyone would mistake for wicked, but Azura went against her god's wishes and came here to see the child with plans of redemption.
"who.. Who is this? I never saw this woman before and why is she here of all places?" Nova thought no sure of what to think of this even though their presence felt warm and safe let alone assuring as Azura held her staff closely beside her looking up at the chained up child who she knew can hardly speak. "W-who?" Nova struggled to speak confused seeing as Azura could see the confusion in the child's eyes wondering in this was some hallucination or not, but this was real alright and possible her last chance to see this kid more than anything. "After all this time I am finally face to face with another living being! Why now after everything I've been through they're showing up now" Nova thought preferring to see her father than some stranger as she still wanted out of the chains, but she knew if another attempt were to happen then it would lead to more pain and endless suffering, tears could be seen manifesting in the poor child's eyes as only one can image all the sorrow this one kid had to endure over a complete misunderstanding of her powers.
"I see that the years haven't not been good for you.. you have gone through a world of pain I cannot image. I apologize for what these horrid people have done to you truly I am" Azura said feel sorry for the child as Nova waited as if there was more the angel had to say, but nothing else seemed to come out angering her as she pulled on her chains that kept her stuck here for all these years in an attempt to break free as rage was visibly seen in the child's actions hating it here before finally stopping glaring at the angel growling at her in response not in the mood for another apology.
"After 7 years of being wrongfully trapped here, Grr.. an apology is all I get! what good is her sorry? Will it give back my life?! I don't even know why i'm even trapped here anymore.. probably over something stupid i guess.. I just wanna die right now. Its not like anyone would care anyway.." Nova thought allowing the thought of forget take over thinking that her so called family she still remembers had forgotten about her and is living a way better life without the trouble she used to cause and possibly replaced by now by something far more greater than she used to be. Azura slowly walked over placing a hand on the child's shoulder catching them by surprise on how closed the angel has gotten way more confident that the others.
"I know Nova..I know. You think we don't care? That the others haven't tried to right this wrong? That isn't true my little angel, as for the past 7 years Whis tried over and over again to plead your case with his father, The Grand Priest. But is has been to no avail. There's only so much a son can do to make his father listen child, but you should also know by angel law, there is no excuse for the complete destruction of a God. You see Nova your father did not just kill Beerus by mistake, but your instinct and mourning over him that resurrected the God, Once a God Of Destruction passes they cannot be brought back in which it wasn't expected to be told to a child until older and stronger, however for you it was only at 3 you committed a crime I wish I could've prevented" Azura explained as Nova's head bowed her neck muscles unable to hold her head for any longer she has heard enough nothing the angle is saying is going to get her out of here as she coughed up blood splattering on the floor as her body even now is still failing her before suddenly looking up at the angel again her face filled with anger once more.
"But why? Why didn't you do anything before Kitty got killed?! It didn't have to be like this at all. I know you angels can see in the future so why did no one prevent it from happening?! You and watched on as I was nearly destroyed by that mean angel guy!" Nova used knew the angel was hearing her thoughts as Azura sighed getting serious very quickly putting some space between them.
"Nova. You're not thinking clearly. If i could've done that, don't you think I would have? Don't you think I would've intervene and saved you? Your simple mortal ideas are not the same as what they're actually capable of. There are rules in place. Rules that must be abided by no matter what the situation or context. For one, an angel only exists to serve as an attendant to the God Of Destruction. This is our divine purpose. What we were born into existence to do. we cannot.. and do not ever act under our own will or needs. To do so would result in our erasure from any and all timelines. It is certain death.. I know this is hard to hear Nova, but I don't think you understand the power you have in your possession a power that any mortal would dream of having.. and like I said before if you weren't to teleport to his planet like you did then maybe.. maybe I would've changed fate for your new home and possibly your father as well" Azura explained again talking about angel laws that even she had to still follow as tears began to stream uncontrollably from the kid's face realizing that this is it this is her life now losing all hope of seeing her family again, doomed to live a life of chains trapped by one she thought was trusting and kind.
"So.. There's really nothing i can do.. there's no way for me to escape this Hell. This life of torture. Even death would be better than this.. Why even come?" Nova thought before a little smirk came up on her face even in this dire situation she was stuck in the kid kept herself up and cheery bringing back a familiar side anyone would recognize even with tears falling down her face. "Don't tell me you've come all this way for me to revive another fallen God? or possibly be the next God Of Destruction? honestly.. After everything I've been through.. I have to say, I might just consider it this time, hehe. But thinking, it wouldn't be that easy would it, angel?" Nova thought as she let out a little chuckle which seemed to brighten up the atmosphere a bit making Azura smirk.
"Hm.. I see that even after all these years alone in this godforsaken place that smile and humour of yours hasn't left you. It's good to see that smile again.. But yes. Perhaps they were defeated under official conditions, in a proper bout as a God Of Destruction candidate like Toppo was.. You could've become on instead of being stuck here for all eternity and yet again I'm very sorry, but laws are laws" Azura replied as Nova took a few to collect her thoughts hearing all of this even though her power could be used for great things and help the multiverse that being trapped here alone for all eternity.
"Like.. papa" Nova mumbled to herself remembering the fusion that ruined her life and because of those earrings Whis gave them she was stuck here due to the power she exploited around the entire multiverse. "I still don't understand.. you came all this way to tell me angel laws, why I can't become a God Of Destruction and even remind me of the event of what happened with that fusion papa made years ago too. Yet the question remains. Why exactly are you here? what is it that you need from me? Look at how late you've left this, all I wanted to do is go back and see my family, to continue my life on earth again. But from your words.. It seems like that dream is now dead and gone forever" Nova thought again aiming it at Azura who sighed again hearing these words come from such a broken child.
"I know I cannot fix what has been done to you, Nova. Nor can I truly empathize with the pain and and suffering you must have gone through being locked away for all these years, but hopefully.. my next words will be of great comfort to you, child. I have come to free you" Azura said looking serious at the child as her eyes grew wide in shock unable to control the emotions raging through her body unsure to be happy or scared after hearing that she will finally be released from this prison after all these years and see her family again. However Azura's power aren't how they used to be anymore and have weakened dramatically due to an unfortunate event with Lady Mittens on Earth.
"wait.. What are you saying, angel? What do you mean you've come to free me?! How are you going to do that.. and why now? After all this time!" Nova was confused not expecting to be freed just yet let alone by this stranger too, Azura turned her back to the kid with a soft smile glad to at least put some weight of those tiny shoulders of hers.
"It is hard to explain 7 years after the events that took place since you capture when things turned for the worse.. You were the strongest mortal in the entire multiverse the strongest mortal to ever exist and now, they had imprisoned you forever in fear of getting your revenge of their wrong doings.. I was barely keeping it together at the end of the line at least, but still.. I decided to keep going even without a God by my side. It was not my place. I'm just an angel. However.. it was after their most recent act that they have destroyed something very dear to me.. But even after I found a new one I knew after I got my powers back I'll come here and free you as something had to be done before anything else would be taken away from me" Azura said not wanting to spoil too much as she replied on the others to give this poor kid an actual explanation of what is actually happening out of this prison she will soon be free from, Nova still taken back from what the angel had said revealing that she had lost someone dear since being found out destroying everything she once built with her God she stood by for almost 80 Millions years.
"B-but if you do that then you'll disappear too and i'll have no other way to get back home, I don't understand?!" Nova thought again not wanting to be a reason why an angel died and save her from this pain, Azura smiled softy again aiming her hand in front of the kid's body almost ready to blast or attack her.
"Relax. You bought everyone enough time as it is and now it is time for you to be free.. However I wish you farewell Nova as what i'm about to do will not only free you, but end another life. Avenge what you once lost millenniums ago for not just you, but for your family, friends and for Lady Mittens' as well as my duty as an angel has finally come to an end, I wish you good luck and trust that you right the wrong for what these evil people have done to you.. goodbye. Haaa! RELEASE!!" Azura emotionally said before a force came from the angel against Nova's chains breaking them into pieces freeing the child as she fell to the floor below her, Nova had finally been released after 7 years of imprisonment.
"W-what?! I'm.. FREE!!" Nova thought not used to standing on her feet she fell straight onto her knees and rest of the shackles clam onto the ground surrounding her trying to regain the power she once had, but she coughs up blood once again her body straining under its own weight. "Urgh! My body.. It feels.. different.." Still on her knees thinking to herself Nova strains her heavy head to look and suddenly and suddenly yells. "NO!" she screams a lump in her throat from emotion she knows that something is happening.. something bad. But Azura says nothing she simply says nothing and smiled staring down at her mortal friend Nova while she begins to slowly erase to nothing, her existence being wiped out for eternity just as she foreshadowed earlier. Nova even with no strength finds something deep inside to throw out a hand and naively grab him, but as he tries to grab Azura her hand was met with nothing but thin air.. Azura was gone disappeared into the nothingness that is erasure. "NO?! ANGEL!!" Nova yelled as her words cannot follow where Azura has gone leaving her to be met with complete silence once again, she falls to the ground wrecked with emotion struggling to accept what had just happened she starts slamming the floor in anger with tears running down her face splashing onto the floor creating a puddle. "Huh?" She though before suddenly something caught her interest as there was something else in the room with her at the corner of her eye she notices that Azura's staff has been left behind by the angel. Slowly mastering her strength and moving consciously as not to tempt fate Nova struggles to her feet and makes her way over to the staff, instantly she grabs it like it has been made for her only whispering. "Angel.. what did you..?" Now moving the staff around with open energy she looks at it with a smirk saying. "Ooo, I guess this is your last gift to me, angel. I cannot thank you enough. Just maybe with this I'll finally be able to go back home and see my family again! Then we can sort everything out just like you wanted me to do, isn't that what you wanted, Angel? But first I have to see my family, my friends.. My Home" Nova thought feeling the staff in her hand thinking of what to do as allowing her family to see her like this was probably bad especially with an angel staff like this they'll probably think she killed one to gain its power. "But.. how do I work this thing?" thinking to herself having the thought of seeing her family she accidentally tapped the staff against the ground accidentally making it teleport her straight to knowing where she was Nova instantly lowers her BP to not be noticed so easy due to the training during the time she was imprisoned she began to make her way through the city not remembering the place like she once did hoping that she the staff hadn't taken her to the wrong place.
Her stomach growled loudly seriously hungry for a decent meal which she hadn't have for over 7 years missing the food her mother made at home, eyes began to glue on her as she walked past making her grow uncomfortable, but it didn't take long for a girl who looked oddly familiar to 17 same age as Nova popped out of nowhere stopping the startled kid in her tracks. "Cool looking staff you've got there.. You aren't from around here are you?" She calmly asked barely showing any emotions as an earing aid was seeing in one of her ears gifting her the ability to hear as Nova nodded implying that she was actually from here, but unsure of where. "So you're lost then?" She asked again making her nod again gripping on the staff refusing to lose it even though it obeyed her and her alone a gift mean't for this innocent bean not anyone else.
"I hate it.. Why am I forcing myself to communicate? She might hurt me just like the angels!" Nova grew panicked as 17 emerged behind the similar looking child seeing this white haired kid staring at her for a second until locking eye contact with her before clicking on.
"N-Nova?" He said getting her attention confused on how he would know her name after all these years even though he was a good friend of Goku's despite once being enemies. "You're actually alive? Wow, but how about we get you back to Goku shall we.." 17 said holding a hand out for her to grab ignoring the angel staff she held seeing Nova growing hesitant to latch hands realizing what something must be seriously wrong with this kid. "Davina, hold her hand and follow me.. we are going to visit an old friend" 17 said Davina did what she asked and held hands with Nova giving the poor traumatized kid flashbacks of the times she used to play with Riaura.. happy times. During the walk Nova took notes and observed her surrounds as everything seemed to slightly change about in the past 7 years of being trapped for something utterly ridiculous, but didn't fear anger towards the angels other than fear and is traumatized with what hell some of them put her through and suffered alone without any help or information on why she was there due to her voice being silent. When they arrived on saiyan territory 17 was easily seen while Nova staid hidden behind him as Davina stood confidently beside her father while 18 came other greeting her brother glad to see him again and on short notice too.
"What are you doing back so quickly? Did you lose something?" she asked as simply shook his head no since whatever he had in his possess is possibly one of the most important things in Goku's life as Nova is part of the Son family and has been even since she was found that night and to be found would surely make this day even better not for just him, but for everyone else who to this day wishes to see her again.
"Lets just say I have something Goku would really like to see.." He replied with a smile since the staff was no longer in sight as Nova found a way to make is disappear by will knowing she didn't need it now or yet until for further use in the future. 18 was confused on what 17 was on about wanting to know about what this thing is until she was stopped knowing that she could leak it out so soon to the others so he tried his best to hide her for as long as he could. "Could you at least get him for me please.. I haven't got all day" He kindly asked as she grew curious and confused, but still went along to go and find Goku who surprisingly here during this special celebration event as it didn't take long for the hero to arrive landing in front of 17 seeing Davina in the process.
"You wanted me?" He asked as 17 exhaled growing serious ready to lay this on his saiyan even though the man still had grief for the loss of his daughter still fighting for her unaware of the escape thanks to Azura and her bravery to sacrifice her life to save another like a true hero.
"I know you don't like to talk about this Goku, but it has to be said.. What would you do if i say that after all these years I might have possibly found, Nova?" 17 asked not wanting to hurt the hero's feelings as he froze in place thinking about his answer seeing how serious the cyborg was with his question, but Goku wondered why now he would ask such a personal question?
"That would be impossible, she is stuck with the Grand Priest imprisoned forever. you know this and so do I.. she is never coming back because of me and I'll do anything to see her again and tell her one more time that I love my little snowflake" Goku replied confidently even though deep inside he was hurting until Nova sneezed behind 17 who tensed up backing more closely to the girl seeing how curious the hero had become. "What was that?" He asked trying to peak behind the cyborg and to no prevail until he pushed him aside with ease and then froze unsure of what to do seeing Nova stood there unsure if this was actually her, but her tail and everything was there that no human or scientist could perfect. Goku was shocked rubbing his eyes thinking that he had become delusional not wanting to admit that or say that she was or wasn't Nova since her face was looking away scared making him crouch down to her tiny level as she had always been a slow grower knowing by now that she had to go through a shit tone of hell trapped in that place with no food, water or even friends.. all alone rotting away at the seems. "Nova. Is that really you?" He asked slowly reaching out for her as his body was filled with mixed emotions unsure if he could touch her or not calling out her name he specifically named her by as she slowly turned to look at him tearing up as over whelming joy came over the saiyan as he too began tear up seeing something he once lost standing right here in front of him, Goku swept her up into his arms doing a little spin laughing and crying with tears of joy as a father and daughter were finally reunited at last.
"Papa.." Nova spoke calling out to him as he refused to let her go still crying finally seeing his precious little snowflake after all of this time. Neither of them wanted to let go missing each other greatly as both sides suffered greatly when an innocent 3 year was taken in for 'punishment' even though something even more sinister was kept hidden from the naked eye holding the real answers of why she was kept hidden away for so long.
"yes.. Papa is here and he loves you very much too.. no one is going to take you away from me ever again" Goku replied creating a heart warming moment that even made 17 shed a tear at such a sight before leaving with his own back home leaving the rest to the saiyan to sort out as his part in his has expired. Goku in secret knew where Riaura was planing to reunite 2 best friends before notifying his wife of some heart warming news. "Don't worry I'll wait for you right here.. go talk to her" He whispered gently pushing her forward giving Nova some sort of confidence as Riaura sat on her lonesome near some trees a little away from the party and turned around to look when Nova got about 4 metres away from the princess. She slowly stood up on her two feet being kinda bigger than her now no longer long lost best friend.
"Is that really you? Nova.." She said seeing her white tail move knowing for a fact that it was the real deal quickly hugging her white haired buddy as Goku walked up behind them ruffling Nova's hair glad to have her back knowing that it'll take awhile for things to cool down on Earth.
"Why don't we go surprise your mother and brothers, huh?" He picked her up like her used to with one arm before ruffling the princess' hair too until quickly using instant transmission to go to Gohan who at the time was with Chi-chi appearing right behind them with Nova in hand as they turned around. "Look who 17 found for me.. *Chi-chi walks over only a metre away from them* We finally have our baby back Chi-chi" Goku said as she placed a hand on Nova's face with a still shocked expression as she thought she was gone forever seeing her press her face into her just like before making Chi-chi hug the now 10 year old even though she looked way younger due to the genes she had Nova missed this and her family, but that changed when her stomach roared loudly like a hungry lion before smiling nervously like her father Chi-chi smiled.
"What are you waiting for? Go feed her already!" She yelled making Goku jolt and quickly go off to feed the starving child leaving Gohan laughing at the priceless his father made glad to have that missing piece of the family back to where it belongs. Throughout the event Goku took the opportunity to teach Nova how to use chopsticks and possibly feed herself in order to regain the weight she lost in containment staying close by her father whenever Whis showed up seeing the new developed fear of angels in her eyes even though he would never do any harm to this child as she was more like a niece than anything and family always sticks together.
