Ch-3 : em..! FORGOT!!!

As Amy finished her call with her mother, she put her phone back in her bar and let out a deep sigh. She knew she had pushed her luck with the late hour, but the thought of meeting up with her best friend Mia was just too tempting. Besides, she missed Mia's company.

She rode her bicycle to the park, her excitement mingling with a touch of guilt. As she approached the ice cream stall where they had planned to meet, she caught sight of Mia waiting for her. Mia was hard to miss with her vibrant energy and bright smile, waving enthusiastically as Amy rode up.

"Hey, girl! There you are!" Mia greeted Amy with her usual infectious cheerfulness.

"Hey, Mia!" Amy responded, parking her bike and joining her friend. "Sorry I'm a little late. You know how it is with my mom and dad—they're pretty strict about me being out late."

"Yeah, I get it," Mia replied with a sympathetic nod. "But hey, it's nice you could make it. Let's grab some ice cream and catch up!"

The two friends strolled over to the ice cream stall and ordered their favorite flavors, taking a moment to enjoy the sweet treat and the cool evening breeze. They found a bench near the park's fountain and sat down, savoring their ice cream as they talked.

"So, how was your first day at the café?" Mia asked, her eyes twinkling with curiosity.

Amy laughed lightly. "It was good! I met a lot of nice people, and one of the guys who worked there was really kind and funny. He wished me a good day, and I must've accidentally called him 'sir' because he laughed."

Mia raised an eyebrow, a playful grin on her face. "Ooh, a guy, huh? Sounds interesting! Was he cute?"

Amy blushed, flustered by Mia's teasing. "Stop it! I barely paid attention. I was too focused on learning the ropes."

"Alright, alright," Mia said, holding up her hands in surrender. "Just checking! So, how's everything else? You must be so busy with school starting soon."

"Yeah, there's a lot going on," Amy agreed. "But I'm glad I get to work at the café for a while. It gives me something to do before classes start back up."

The conversation flowed easily between the friends, talking about everything from their summer adventures to plans for the upcoming school year. Time seemed to slip away as they laughed and shared stories, enjoying each other's company.

As the sky began to darken, Amy checked the time on her phone. She knew she needed to head home soon to avoid getting into trouble with her parents. Reluctantly, she stood up and looked at Mia with a grateful smile.

"Thanks for hanging out with me, Mia. I really needed this," Amy said sincerely.

"Of course, girl! We should do this more often," Mia replied with a warm hug. "Be safe getting home, okay?"

"I will," Amy promised. "See you soon!"

With that, Amy mounted her bicycle and rode home, the evening breeze rushing past her. She knew she had pushed her limits with her parents tonight, but spending time with Mia had been worth it. Now, she just hoped she could make it home before her father arrived.
