Priceless Gift

Vivian thought that the ring was too expensive to receive as a gift and thought that she'll refuse to accept it after opening the envelope because she was sure that the thing inside the envelope was cheaper than the ring. That's why she quickly closed the ring box and put it on the table.

But she never thought that she would receive a private island as a gift. It was more expensive than the diamond ring.

Vivian smiles at Mrs. Da. "I can't accept this."

Mrs. Da looked at Vivian in confusion. "Why not? Do you not like my gift? Sigh! I know it's not something valuable. Only if I have more time to prepare something nice."

"That's not what I mean. Your gifts are too expensive. I can't accept them. I didn't even bring you anything when I came here."

Vivian then looked at Ivan for help. She was sure that if Ivan said no, Mrs. Da wouldn't force her to accept the gifts.

"Just accept it. It's your first time receiving a gift from your mother in law. It's impolite to turn her down."

Vivian couldn't believe her ears. She was hoping that Ivan would help her decline his mother but he teamed up with her instead.

Ivan continues, "you're the richest family daughter in law. It's right for them to give you something nice. I'm sure my mother put her heart into choosing what to give you."

Mr. Da smiles at Vivian. "Ivan is right dear. Your mother in law was happily choosing what to get you. Don't make her feel sad and accept her kindness."

For the first time Mrs. Da feels like her husband said something right. She was so moved by her husband's words that her eyes welled up in tears.

She just wants to jump in his lap and give him a big kiss. Too bad, she can't do that in front of her daughter in law or her daughter in law will think that she's insane.

Vivian was stunned to see tears in Mrs. Da's eyes. She would never have thought that declining her gift would make her feel so sad that tears welled up in her eyes.

Thinking that Mrs. Da became like this because of her, Vivian doesn't know what to do in this situation but to accept it. "Thank you for the beautiful gift."

With a warm loving smile on her face, Mrs. Da took Vivian's hand in hers once again. "Thank you for marrying my son. And welcome to the family."

Vivian don't feel comfortable receiving expensive gifts from Mrs. Da since they're not close to each other. She had a habit of love to give instead of receiving.

Mrs. Da chest was filled with happiness that she couldn't but the tears started rolling down on her cheeks. She couldn't believe that her son finally got himself a wife. She was worried that her son might stay single for the rest of his life since he never dated any woman for a long time.

Vivian's heart starts beating faster and doesn't know what to do. If it's a little kid, of course she knows how to comfort them, but Mrs. Da is a grown up woman.

Mr. Da stood up from his seat and walked up to where his wife was sitting. He put his hand on her shoulder. "Why are you crying? You're scaring your daughter in law. What if she divorce your son after they left?"

Mrs. Da wiped the tears that were rolling down on her cheeks. She couldn't believe that she cried in front of her daughter in law. "Look at me. Being a mess in front of my daughter in law. I'm just too happy to finally meet you."

She then stood up from her seat. "Let me go clean up first. You guys are staying for dinner right? You guys are not leaving as soon as I leave the living room right?"

Mrs. Da didn't ask them to stay the night since it's their first wedding night, she's sure that they will want to spend time together by themselves. She'll ask them to sleep over another time.

Vivian gave out her most loving smiles. "Yes. We're staying for dinner."

'Oh God! My daughter in law is so beautiful. My heart is about to burst out of my chest.'

Putting her hands on her chest. "Great! I'll have the cookers to start preparing for dinner now."

As soon as Mrs. Da and Mr. Da walked out of the living room, Ivan stood up from his seat and held out his hand. "Let's go look around the garden."

This is a great chance to get some fresh air. Plus, Vivian was curious about what the business tycoon's place garden looks like.

Taking his hand. "Sure."

Now that they're in the garden, Vivian breathed in the fresh air in a deep breath. She felt refreshed after taking a deep breath.

Walking around in the garden hand in hand. "Do you have any siblings?"

"I have an older brother and a younger brother."

"No sister?"

"No."

Nodding her head. "I see. Are your brothers married?"

"My older brother married a few years ago and has two kids. My younger brother is still single."

"Are they living separately with your parents?"

Since it's normal for Asian people to live together with their parents even after they get married, Vivian was curious if the business tycoon family lived together or separately.

"No. My older brother moved out after he got married and my younger brother lives overseas because of his work."

"So, you're the only one who lives with your parents."

"Yes. But, from now on, not anymore."

Confused. "Huh? Why? Are you saying you're going to move out too?"

Ivan stopped in his tracks as he turned to face Vivian. "Are you going to move in with your parents in law?"

"Huh?"

Vivian doesn't understand what he meant. Why would she move in with his parents?

With a sad face. "Now that we're newlyweds , I don't like that. I want to live with you only."

After hearing Ivan's words, it hits Vivian hard. She slightly forgets that she's married to him. And of course she's not comfortable living with his parents.

They have never met before and this is their first time meeting with each other. If she moves in out of the blue, of course she doesn't know how to act around them.

Mrs. Da was already making her feel uncomfortable from earlier with her gifts. She doesn't want to feel uncomfortable everyday when she wakes up from her sleep.

And if she lives with her in-laws, she can't do what she used to do freely. And she's not sure if her in-laws will accept her wholeheartedly when they find out about her connections with the gangs.

"So are you planning to move in with me?"

Nodding his head. "Yes. But, If you don't like it, I can purchase a new place for us to move in."

If Vivian doesn't like it, Ivan doesn't mind buying a new place for them to live together. Since they just got married, Ivan understands if Vivian wants to live in a new place.

Smiling. "Of course I do like it. It's normal for a man to leave his parents' place and move in with his wife after he gets married."

For Vivian, it's just a waste of money to buy a new place. Plus, she lives alone by herself in her big place. And if she moves to a new place, her place will be empty with no one living in it.

Ivan's eyes lifted up in happiness. His hand let go of Vivian's hand and wrapped around her waist. He bent his head down and kissed her forehead. "Great! Your place then."

The sudden kiss made Vivian's face blushed slightly. She's not used to the sudden touching and kissing.

Before Vivian was the one who flirts with Ivan, but after they got their marriage certificate, Ivan became a different person.

Vivian feels like Ivan has become more touchy and didn't give her any warning before doing it. Earlier too, he kept wrapping one of his arms on the back of her waist even when they're sitting in front of his parents.

It's not like Vivian dislikes his touches and kisses. It's just that she feels embarrassed when he does it in front of people.

Plus, Vivian never flirts with him in front of anyone. She does that only when they're alone.

Looking around, Vivian was glad that there's no servants around them. If there's someone around them, she doesn't know what to do.
