Meeting The In Laws

Mrs. Da liked what she heard. She was just glad that the woman her son married was not a gold digger.

"I see. What do you do for a living?"

Ivan frowned at his mom. He already called to let his parents know about everything. He couldn't believe that his mother thought so little of his wife after seeing her. He was scared that if this continued, Vivian would ask for a divorce.

"I'm a professor at T.M. University."

Mrs. Da's eyes widened in surprise. She couldn't believe that her son ended up marrying the woman who made him go insane. At first she thought she was someone else, but now she understands everything. About why her son suddenly got married out of the blue.

'What a surprise. I finally got to meet my daughter in law who I had been wanting to meet with. God must've pity me and change her mind so that she could become my daughter in law.'

With a warm smile on her face. "If you work at T.M. University, you must be Vivian Wah."

Both Ivan and Vivian look at Mrs. Da in surprise. Many different thoughts are running through their head.

Seeing the confusing look on their faces, Mr. Da slowly opened his mouth. "Your mother had someone investigate who was the one who made you go insane."

Of course Ivan understood what Mr. Da meant when he said gone insane. Because for the first time in their lives, their son acted like he lost something dearly in his life and ended up drinking the whole night.

With a slightly blushing face because of the embarrassment, Ivan looked at his parents with a serious face. "Are you guys done yet?"

Vivian doesn't understand what Mr. Da means and was about to ask him what he meant but was cut off by Ivan before she got the chance to open her mouth to speak.

Ignoring her son, Mrs. Da looked at Vivian with a warmly loving smile. "Welcome to the family dear. Please don't take what I said earlier seriously. This is Ivan's first time bringing a woman home and he's saying that she's his wife. As a mother, I was just worried about my son."

"Don't worry auntie, I understand your concern. If I were in your place, I would do the same thing."

After hearing Vivian's words, Mrs. Da starts to like her even more. She was glad that she finally got a beautiful daughter in law.

"When do you guys plan to hold the wedding ceremony?"

"About that, we planned to do it later. What I mean is, not anytime soon. We want to keep our relationship a secret and not go public."

Mrs. Da looked at Vivian and Ivan in confusion. She then looked back at Ivan with her face filled with questions. She just doesn't understand why they don't want to hold the wedding ceremony.

Without saying anything, Ivan let out a sad smile on his face.

He, himself, wants to hold a wedding ceremony with Vivian but he can't do anything since she doesn't want it. Even though he wants to show the world how beautiful his wife is, he still respects her and does what she wants.

Mrs. Da understood right away. It seems like her son has a long way ahead of him to get Vivian to agree to hold the wedding ceremony.

She just couldn't believe that there's still a woman out there who doesn't want to show off her relationship with the country business tycoon to the public.

At first she thought that Vivian was just like any other woman out there who was after fame, but it seems like she was wrong about her.

Wearing a beautiful wedding dress and walking down the aisle was every woman's dream, but she's saying that they don't want to hold the wedding ceremony.

'Since her husband is the richest man in the country, she should use his money to hold the grandest wedding ceremony. But she wants to keep their relationship private?'

Seeing the confused looks on Mrs. Da and Mr. Da faces, Vivian understands them. "We plan to hold a wedding ceremony after I get pregnant."

'Which is not going to happen anytime soon.'

Vivian continues, "for now, we want to spend more time by ourselves in private without anyone bothering us. You know, once we go public, our lives won't be the same anymore."

Nodding her head in understanding after hearing Vivian's words. "I see. That can't be helped then. I was thinking about taking wedding photos with you guys but it seems like I won't be able to do it anytime soon."

"We can take wedding photos, as long as the pictures aren't leaked."

Mrs. Da eyes lifted up in happiness. "Really? You're not joking right."

"Yes. We can even print out the pictures too."

"That's great! When are you Available?"

"I don't work Thursday through Sunday."

"Great! I'll schedule the time and place for us to take the wedding photos then."

Mr. Da and Ivan just sat there and listened to the two ladies talking without saying anything. In the end, they decided everything by themselves without asking their opinions. They knew that if they were to cut in their conversations, they wouldn't end up well.

Ivan was glad that the two ladies got along pretty well with each other at their first meeting. And Mr. Da was glad that his daughter in law is not after his son's money. He started to like her after hearing her say that she can provide Ivan and take care of him even if he doesn't have anything.

At first he thought that Vivian was just some young woman who married his son for his money because of their age gaps. But now he doesn't have to worry about anything.

Mrs. Da clapped her hand as if she just remembered something important. "Oh yeah! I have something for you."

She then turned around. "Robert, could you go get the things I put on top of the drawer?"

The head butler Robert walked up to them and put the drinks and food tray on the table. He then bowed his head politely. "Right away madam."

Robert then walked away from them.

When Robert come back with the drink and food in his hands, he was about to go put them on the table but decided to stopped in his tracks after hearing Mrs. Da and Vivian have serious conversations since he doesn't want to be impolite and let them continue with their conversations.

"Huh?"

Vivian was not sure what she was talking about since it's their first time meeting with each other and she was sure that Mrs. Da doesn't know anything about Ivan bring her here because as soon as Mrs. Da saw her, she looked so confused and surprised.

"It's just a small gift. I'm sorry for not preparing anything nice."

"There's no need for that. I came here empty handed." She then glared at Ivan. "Because someone didn't let me know ahead of time that I don't have time to prepare anything and come without anything."

"Alas, there's no need to bring anything. Marrying our son and visiting us is already the best gift we could ever ask for."

Mrs. Da then turned to look at her husband who was sitting next to her. "Right?"

Nodding his head. "Yes dear."

Mrs. Da turned back her head to face Vivian. "See? Told ya. You're the best gift ever."

Not long after Robert came back with a jewelry box and an envelope. He politely handed them to Mrs. Da and went back to his work.

Mrs. Da walked up to Vivian and sat down next to her. She took Vivian's hand in hers then put the jewelry box and the envelope in Vivian's hand. "It's not something valuable, but I still hope you like it."

Vivian smiles at Mrs. Da. "Thank you. And of course I like everything that you gave me."

"I'm glad. Open and see if you like them."

Vivian does what Mrs. Da wants. She opened the jewelry box first. Her eyes widened in surprise as soon as her eyes landed on the big diamond ring. She hurriedly closed the jewelry box and placed it on the table. She then opened the envelope and was hit by surprise once again.

It was a document issue that Vivian was the new owner of a private island.

She couldn't believe that Mrs. Da gave her a diamond ring and a luxurious private vacation villa on the beach. Mrs. Da just said earlier that she didn't have time to prepare something much and only had a short period of time to prepare something small, but Mrs. Da gave Vivian something that she could never have thought of.
