Same Old News

"It has been three years since the official approval of the new M-System. The percentage of marriage has increased to over 70%. I am Ohka Sayoko bringing you the latest news-"

I pressed the power button on the remote control as hard as I possibly can expressing my anger.

"Nothing new I guess. Same old news."

I got up from the couch and look at the clock. Should I go to school today? I skipped school for 4 days straight now, maybe I should.

I only went to school on the first day as it is the most important day because I need to know where my class is and who is in my class. Knowledge is the most important thing for me, I don't care about my condition, I don't care about my love life, because with knowledge I can achieve almost anything. That's what my parents told me anyway.

I lived my life inside this messy apartment. Everything is all over the place, my books is on the floor, picture frames are tilted and empty cans all over the floor

"I can't just sit back and lay down all day, so I guess I'll go to school today."

I wear my school uniform rather lazily and messily. But I got the most important bit covered, I zipped my pants.

I grab my bag and headout of my apartment building. After a few steps outside, I was greeted by a group of boys who is skipping class if I'm not mistaken.

"Hey, Shiro! Wanna hang out and skip school with us?"

"I'm sorry, but I am not a failure like all of you. I do not skip schools when it is unnecessary to do so."

"What? Are you picking fight with us?!?"

"Well, as a successful person, I also don't pick fights when it is unnecessary."

He grabs my collar as a a sign of anger. Judging by his facial expression, he really is pissed off

"You really are searching for trouble, second year!"

"So what are you going to do? Whine to your wife or somethin'?"

"Y-YOU!!"

"Stop Kazu!"

One of his underlings stopped him from punching me in the face

"Look over there, there is police on patrol."

He said that while pointing to the other side of the road.

"Oh shit. You are lucky this time Kurogane Shiro, but don't expect I'm letting you go the next time we meet."

"I'm looking foward for that time Takashida Kazu."

He and his gang run away from the police. They run into a dark alley next to a convenience store.

"Luck, huh?"

I let out a small chuckle while grinning.

Luck, never heard of that in a while. You thought that I would mock him just to get beaten up? I know the police is going to show up. He patrol this area everyday right on time at 6:50 in the morning.

Talking about the time, I only have 10 minutes to walk to the school from here so i better get going.

The naming system in my story uses the japanese system. This means that last name comes before first name. As an example, Shiro is the first name and Kurogane is the last name, so in it should be written as Kurogane Shiro. Second, they are some japanese honorifics such as:

[-san] - I use -san for female

[-kun] - I use -kun for male

[-sensei] - I use -sensei for teachers
