Chapter 34: Not enough
"Aliyah was just looking straightforward as Angela was blabbering on
Aliyah was sitting down on the edge of a building with one leg bent
"Why am I here?" Aliyah asks
"What? Were you even listening to anything I said?" Angela asks
"Why am I here and not back in the Bronx?" Aliyah asks with a serious voice
"Well to get you away from Avery of course," Angela says
"Avery knew exactly where I was and after all of those years being neglectful she finally cares about me," Aliyah says
"What are you trying to say?" Angela asks
"She didn't want me to come here but why was that? Not only because of you but because of racism," Aliyah says and that shocks Angela
"Excuse me but first what the hell do you mean by me? second, Racism?" Angela says confused
"Emily you know there's racism here and I'm tired of you trying to protect me from the truth when I already know it," Aliyah says
"But Aliyah I know that the world is crazy but it's not my fault for wanting to protect you," Angela says
"You can't protect me from the truth I already know everything and understand everything. I know there's racism out here because kids at school were just being racist towards me," Aliyah admits
"WHAT!!! WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL MD DURING PARENT-TEACHER CONFERENCES!!!" Angela yells but Aliyah rolls her eyes
"Whatever but I used that as an example that nowhere is perfect because there are problems that eleven I go through as a teenager," Aliyah says putting her hand on her heart
Angela sighs
"Just because you're a teenager does mean you've seen everything you'll know if you've seen everything near your death," Angela says and Aliyah started zoning out
'Oh great gosh, she's doing this again. She should really talk less,' Aliyah thinks to herself
Aliyah hears voices in her head
"HEY GET OFF OF ME!!" A voice of a man says
"STAND DOWN OR WE'LL USE FORCE!!" Another man shouts and Aliyah can somehow picture the whole situation
'Okay that's a cop and a criminal but where could they be,' Aliyah thinks and close her eyes
Aliyah gets a sudden realization and opens her eyes to reveal they are yellow
Aliyah changes into Briskess with sparks coming off of her
Briskess popped her wings out and flew to where the sound was coming from
"Hey, Aliyah wait!!!" Angela says and flies after her
Briskess was in an alleyway when she saw a man getting arrested
"I DID NOTHING WRONG!!!" The man shouts and the cop throws him on the ground whereas another one just puts their foot on his head
"You pointed a weapon at us and now we must use force," The Police Officer says
"I DIDN'T HAVE A DAMN GUN GET THE HELL OFF OF ME!!" The Man shouts
Briskness intervenes
"Hey hey now calm down. Wouldn't want to kill him right," Briskess says and The cop presses their foot harder against the man
"I'm sorry kid but this is just how shit works in Japan I wouldn't be surprised if you didn't understand so how about you let the cops do their job," The cop stepping on the man says
"Well if your job is to kill people you're doing a good job," Briskess jokes
"But in all seriousness take ya foot off the man, ya gonna break his skull," Briskess says
"Kid how 'bout you go back to America just like this man should? Cause it's obvious you don't know a thing about being here," The cop that was stepping on him says
"Yeah what you gotta 'bout those people," The cop pinning the man down says
"Excuse me but I know for a fact he is American or at least got some white American in him. Explain to me what you mean by those people," Briskness says getting in his face
"Just like how I expected dumb, poor, and useless just like your peoples in America," The cops says with a laugh
"Nothing wrong with just saying you hate me cause I'm black," Briskess says
"True I mean what will you do to me can't hurt me because not only will it hurt your hero friend Angela but it will also hurt you online. So again let the cops handle this," The cop says
"Excuse me, sir." Someone says and the cop had shivers sent down his spine
The cop turned around slowly
"But I don't think you should be talkin to a kid like that, especially since she's um new here," Emily says
"What the hell?" Aliyah curses
"Language," Angela says and Aliyah gave the 'bitch I know you ain't talkin' look
"Yeah I can kinda tell looks different from the rest of us," The cop says
"What do you mean by 'different than the rest of us?" The cop says
"Oh come on what would you know I mean your white right?" The cop says
"Holy pineapples he just said the unthinkable," Alexandra says
"Actually yeah what would I know except for the fact that I'm black just like her," Angela says
"Oh come on this has nothing to do with race," The cop says
"Oh really you're going rough on a quirkless black guy, talking smack to my black apprentice, and also trying to make it seem normal by misracing and not thinking I was black," Angela says
"Well, I mean who the hell would ever know that your black? your skin is so light you could also be mixed with white," The cop jokes to the other cop
The other cop was laughing nervously as he was scared of the outcome
"Holy shit," Briskess curses stepping back
Angela was pissed off to the extreme
Angela had both of her blades out and ready
"Don't you ever.." Angela says and stops
"Don't ever what?" The cops ask not scared of her
"DON'T YOU EVER FUCKING MIS RACE ME!!!" Angela screams at them and they screamed as well
Briskess of course used her wings to block them from being able to watch
"Okay readers understand this before this story gets rated mature understand this I said at least one f word and we may have to either bleep out anything else that comes out of Angela's mouth and or block any sort of violence because they are all done by Angela," Briskess explains to the audience
"Remember this is still somewhat PG 14 because just like Stranger Things when their bones Snap crackle and popped just like These people right? We deeply apologize for Emily's crude behavior but just realize it's her," Briskess says
"Okay back to the story," Alexandra says
The quirkless man on the ground was terrified of both of them
"Please I just wanna go back home don't kill me," The quirkless man begs as he backs into the car
"Relax I didn't kill them just did stuff to them," Angela says
"Please get me out of those cuffs," The quirkless man says and Briskess cuts the cuffs in half
"Thank you Black Lives Matter," The quirkless man says and runs away
"Wow I know that man called you white but damn Emily that was a little over the top," Briskess says
"Misracing is totally wrong but if someone said you were too black for them or called the n word how would feel," Angela says
"Terrible," Aliyah says
"Yeah just don't ever do what I did kay," Angela says with a sheepish smile
