Chapter 31: Defender Society
February 26th
Angela was on a night patrol
"I hate night patrols THIS GIRL NEEDS SLEEP!!" Angela shouts as she lies down on her agency
"I like the other place better it has a better view," Angela says but was too exhausted to move
"March is about to start so spring is gonna be just around the corner," Angela says and looks at the city beneath her
"Maybe there's is one good thing about the night," Angela says to herself and smiles
Angela closes her eyes about to fall asleep
"CODE BLUE CODE BLUE!!!" Something yells in Angela's ear and makes her jump
"What what? You awoke me," Angela ask
"Cops coming after me and I need help to get them off of me," Eliza says through the earpiece
A bunch of cop cars start speeding away and in Angela's sight
"Oh gosh, what did you do?" Angela asks through the earpiece
"Let's just say I got on some cops' nerves and had some illegal party and everything in the book… so am I gonna get help?" Eliza asks
"I wanna see how this plays out," Angela says and chuckles as Eliza groans
"Fine I'll handle this my way," Eliza says and rolls her eyes
Angela follows Eliza and critiques what she's wearing
So what your telling me dressing up like Domino from Deadpool will help
"Yeah I mean I'm in disguise," Eliza says
"Okay bring them to the bridge and I'll shoot them down," Angela says
Eliza drives faster
Angela gets a notification on her phone
"No way," Angela says and flies as fast as she can to the bridge
Eliza drives onto the bridge and Angela catches up with Eliza
"Eliza I need you to-" Angela was interrupted as grenades were thrown at the two
"Holy-" Eliza couldn't continue as everything was in explosions
The police cars that were following them stopped
Angela covers Eliza with her wings and the two fall onto the hard road
The bridge is heard creaking and all the police officers come out of their cars
Angela woke up and Eliza was knocked out
Eliza laid her on the ground gently and looked at the cops
"Hey wait it's only Angela put the guns down," A cop said
A cop walked to Angela
"Are you okay?" The cop asked
"Yes I'm okay," Angela says but the cop handed her a note
'Stand still' those were the words on the note
"Huh?" Angela says and looks at the cops
The cop for some reason then walks off the bridge into the water
"What the hell?" Angela says taken aback by what just happened
"OFFICER HIROSHI!!" Another cop shouts
People dressed in hoods and masks come onto different parts of the bridge but all end up in the middle
The people looked like ninjas with their black crop-topped hoodies and sweatpants
Angela noticed one thing about them that was very distinctive…
"Their pins," Angela whispers and stood still with her head down
"Who the hell are you?" The cops ask
The masked leader walked in front and started talking in Spanish
"Ocúpate de la policía Mientras yo me ocupo del héroe profesional," The masked leader says
Translation: Take care of the cops while I take care of the pro hero
A few people nodded and attacked the police officers
The masked lady repeated what she said in Spanish in sign language to a few people as they grabbed Eliza
"Your revenger aren't you geez and I thought Challengers were violent," Angela says and the lady doesn't answer
"I don't understand American too much but I do know how to say die in four different idiomas," The Spanish lady says
The Spanish leader then took out a broken spear and attacked Angela
Angela backed away and avoided her the best she could
"Listen I know Andrés and Destiny they're my Tía and Tío," Angela says
The Spanish lady stops and looks at Angela
"Leader Andrés is your uncle? entonces debes saber por qué la necesitamos." The Spanish lady
Translation: Leader Andrés is your uncle? so then you should know why we need her
"No, I don't. Don't hurt Eliza or else I will kill you all," Angela and prepare her blades the Spanish leader laughs
The Spanish leader yells and tells her people to push the cars into the ocean
The Spanish leader cracks her knuckles and looks at Angela
"Mi peculiaridad es la proyección astral. I will attack you while you're a useless ghost," The Spanish leader says and for some reason, Angela takes off her mask and hood
Translation: My quirk is astral projection.
The Spanish leader gasped and commanded the others to come
"Las vengadoras unen a nuestra líder está aquí." The Spanish lady said and for some reason bowed in front of her
The Spanish repeated what she said in sign language and the others dropped Eliza
Translation: Revengers unite our leader is here
"Yeah that's right I'm Emily a defender," Emily says proudly
"Sobrina (niece) they're not bowing for you they're bowing for me." A guy says and Emily turns around
"Oh wow, Uncle Andrés, Aunty Destiny what are you doing here?" Emily asked
The Spanish leaders stand up
Ellas le dieron el aroma que la hace desmayarse.
Translation: They gave the scent that makes her pass out
Andres nods in appreciation and talks with the leaders
"We are not only saving you two but trying to get answers," Destiny says
"Saving me from what?" Emily asked
"Saving you from Elliott. He wanted Eliza to get arrested so he sent the grenades at you," Destiny says walking to Emily
Destiny holds Emily's face
"How the hell do you know this?" Emily asked
"Because your mom told me. Avery watches you every day and told me to make sure your okay while she's wasn't there," Destiny says, and that surprised her
"Why?" Emily asks and pushing her hands away
"Because she cares," Destiny answers
"If Avery cared she would be here RIGHT NOW!! BUT INSTEAD YOUR HERE!! Avery can suck an ass for all I care," Emily says and walks to Eliza still knocked out
"She has done nothing to deserve this. All she ever wanted was to be seen by her father and this is what happened…. Just like me," Emily says checking her face
"Vengadoras!!" The Spanish lady says
Translation: Revengers
"SÍ, SEÑORA!!" Most of the revengers say
"Attackers nearby," The Spanish Lady says
"What?!?" Angela says and a smoke bomb has been thrown suddenly more people appear
These new people are dressed up differently from the others
A man walks up in front and stomps on the ground
"Defenders!!" A guy said and his crew stood tall
"I am Elliott. I have taken control of this young child to tell you this now, Give me my daughter," The man said and that's when Emily was terrified
"So what you can hurt her as you do to your other family members? Don't play with me Elliott I know what you doin and you ain't doin it," Destiny says with attitude
"Kenji?" Emily says so confusedly
"Oh, Emily, so dumb but so smart at the same time. I've taken control of everyone here except you because you need to learn to stand still," Elliott says, and that makes Emily's eyes go wide
"So that was you who sent the note killed an innocent cop," Emily says
"Have no idea what you're talking about but that cop probably wasn't as innocent as you seem," Elliott jokes
"You can play these like puppets but don't do this to Kenji," Emily takes off her gloves and touches his head
Emily freed Kenji from Elliott's mind games
'Stand still. Why the hell would he want me to stand still?' Emily asks herself and comes to the realization
"Wait a minute I know what this means," Emily says
Ghosts have ways of communication but this was the one thing that made her confident in her theory
"Stand still, don't freak out, because your father is here to protect you know," Emily says to herself and Destiny is surprised
"Wait does she mean?" Andrés asks
"Hubs listen if the girl wants to believe let her believe," Destiny says holding his hand
A person with a fire dragon shape landed of course in the middle of this whole thing
"Just like I thought," Emily says looking at the fire dragon
Someone else who was under the control of Elliott stood in front
"Who are you? Avery is with me right now?" Elliott says
"Oh but buddy I'm your just friend….Daniel Sheresko," Daniel says introducing herself
Elliott gasps and is taken aback
"What do you want from me? You killed my wife now you wanna what? Kill me?" Elliott asks sarcastically
"I came to protect my family from you," Daniel says
"Emily deserves all the pain she gets she broke the truce," Elliott says
"I OWN 100 HEROES, I OWN THE DEFENDERS, I OWN ALL OF THE SOCIETIES, AND ALL YOU ARE IS JUST SOME IDIOTIC LEADER OF A SOCIETY!!" Daniel shouts at Elliott
"Well if it wasn't for me no one would've seen your daughter either of them," Elliott says right back at him starting to get mad
"YOU are nothing but a useless piece of shit. You killed your damn child at the cost of what stopping the Sheresko's and Martins from having a child well that's too late," Daniel says and Elliott goes quiet
"Killed his child? what child?" Andrés asks and Daniel goes quiet
"Well if no one is gonna say it then I will. Andrés your wannabe leader killed your best friend also known as my father Brayton Martin," Emily says and claps her hands
"And I always thought my damn mom killed her but the more I get to know you the more I realize you are the reason my life is hell right now…" Emily was interrupted
"Okay fine yes I did kill Brayton but I wasn't the one who physically killed him I mind-controlled Luna because why not?" Elliott asks sarcastically
"YOU KILLED MY BEST FRIEND!!" Andrés yells while the revengers held him back
"But Leader Andrés Tranquilo no lo podemos matar," The Spanish lady says
Translation: calm down we can't kill him
"I don't care Lucia he killed my best friend," Andrés says trying to get free
"And guess what there's always more reasons Elliott killed Brayton was because he knew something that would change everything you know about the Sheresko and of course, I'm not gonna tell y'all cause it's not time," Emily explains to them all
"Elliott give it up now they know the truth," Daniel says
"I will still win because even if you report me you have no proof," Elliott says and stops mind controlling the bodies
Emily goes to Eliza and sees she's still sleeping
"Wait why the hell is she still sleeping what did you give her?" Emily asks
"Just some peppermint scented spray I was told it knocks her out," Andrés says and Emily starts to freak out
"NOOO!!! Eliza is extremely allergic to peppermint, so much so she can die from it," Emily says and that makes everyone worried
"Quick take her to the hospital. Lucia tell our kids we won't be home for a while and the rest of the team as well I have some payback to do," Andrés says and starts floating
"I'm telling you he's way hotter when he's fierce like that," Destiny says
"I think your just simp," A revenger says

Emily was in the hospital looking at Eliza who was sleeping
"I have five more days until my death either I go in two or die in five." Emily says to herself looking at her locket
"I know this feels so wrong but I changed my locket of you and I Toya because I realized this was the only time my family was happy and I rather see them happy with me," Emily says to herself
This particular photo was a wedding day photo the same day Avery got married to Brayton and everyone was there and alive
The Shereskos and Todoroki's were in the picture together
"I'm going on March 1st so be prepared if I die.... Mom," Emily says looking up at her mom who's in front of her
"I was always prepared," Avery says
March 1st will be the day I meet them the day I reveal my true identity
