Finding Out

Mason drove harshly into his permanent car space in the company's car park that morning, growling slightly at the idea that Lisa didn't sleep at home, but that ends today. He decided as he took long strides in with an aide behind him carrying his briefcase

He stepped into the air-conditioned hallway on his office floor, which was on the third floor and which only contained his own office and his secretary's open space and a waiting room with every kind of refreshment.

Immediately he stepped in, walking down the hallway. Ben stood up straight from his chair.

" Good Morning sir… I" he greeted him while adjusting the edge of his glasses with a finger, but Mason was in no mood for it as he didn't even acknowledge him as he walked past and barked out

" It will only be a good morning if you have the name I want ready" he growled and stepped into his office, which seemed as clean as it should be, but there was Evans twirling in his seat while scrolling through his phone.

Mason sighed with relief to get over the surprised look on his face and the kind of thoughts triggered by seeing Evans on a chair he was going to sit on later on.

" You look like you have seen a ghost", Evans noted with an indifferent tone as he kept on clicking something on his phone without exactly looking up.

"Good Morning to you too, Evan", Mason replied, finally finding his voice but in a tone that seemed so harsh that it even caused Evans to look up.

" You didn't come yesterday" he stated.

" I didn't want to and I believe I told you that" Mason said, stepping fully into his office ,taking off his coat jacket as he sat down on one of the lounge chairs.

" Mason.." Evans was trying to say but then paused in the middle as he tried to click something frustratingly on his phone,

" Mason .. that" he repeated and was trying to say, but was interrupted.

" It might just be better if you talked to me without doing anything else ", Mason noted.

Evans looked up at that moment with a confused look on his face which made it obvious that he really wasn't expecting that, but he didn't say anything till Ben entered with a slight knock on the

door.

" Okay?" Mason questioned, Okay" looking forward.

Ben cleared his throat, noticing the awkward tension in the room.

" Your schedule for the day sir?" Ben questioned as he took out his notepad to dictate the day's activities, but it was stopped even before he began.

" Cancel all my morning appointments. Any that can't wait can be shifted till noon", Mason commented.

" Okay sir." His secretary replied as he seemed to write something down, while Evans dropped his phone and stared at his supposed business partner and best friend, who seemed off.

" And where is what I asked for?" Mason asked with a hand cleaning his chin subconsciously,

" I have it right here" Ben replied and proceeded to tear off a piece of his jotting notepad ,seeing that Mason bounded up and grabbed his coat jacket off the rack.

" Here is it" Ben said, offering Mason the piece of paper he had just jotted out and it contained only two words that brought a smile to Mason's hardened face.

Ben stepped out a few minutes later to return to his space.

" Bryan Holding "

The words were read and it seemed to calm Mason down. He felt some kind of relief and satisfaction as he folded it in his pocket and it was all so much that he had forgotten Evans was right there in his office staring at him all through.

" What is that? " Evans finally found the word to ask his best friend.

" I have to go" Mason replied without much of an explanation or second hesitation as he grabbed his car keys off the table,

Evans stood putting his hand under his chin leaning forward on the table while Mason prepared for his own way. He just wanted to get the current task over with. That was all Mason wanted, but it was only when he was at the door that he looked back and told Evans.

"I will come and talk to you about it over lunch and shii, aright?" he asked and, without waiting for a reply, he stepped out of the office.

"Whoa…" Evan sighed out when the door shut behind Mason, he grabbed his phone and started scrolling through again.

"I wonder what she likes" he mused.

There were a lot of stares that came Mason's way as he stepped down from his car. He was not only an overprotective brother, but he was also a hot-looking man ,built and quite handsome. He undid the one button that was holding together his coat jacket . Then let out a. He pressed the car remote button to lock his car door. Then he turned around to enter the building. Then the murmur began.

" Isn't that the CEO of Karla Technologies?"

" You mean the one and only Mason Carlton?"

" Fuck, he is hot."

" Is he single though?"

" He has no comment on that. He probably has a secret girlfriend."

" damn..though"

" He is better in person than in blogs or magazines"

" God, I might turn full gay for this guy."

" Just stay big, dumbass. But fuck he is freaking hot"

There were also a few clicks and flashes which went off as the college students took various pictures.

Mason was never really a fan of publicity, but he had no choice sometimes, so he just went ahead with it, but more importantly, today, he didn't care about any of it. He had a goal in mind and he was going to make sure to achieve it.

Someone rushed up just as soon as he entered the building. A guy in glasses, a cute looking nerd. Mason noted

" Good Morning air, sorry I have always been a huge fan of you. Your smile makes my day. Do you mind if we go out to hangout sometime?"

Mason was not surprised at the gallant display or the bold question or the fact that this was coming from a guy. He had experienced this a lot ,being a business celebrity boosted his company's sales, so he had no ' no' option and he knew just how he had handled it. A few students gathered around although they tried not to stand out, though it only worsened their position, which they didn't seem to notice.

He flashed a smile towards the hopeful boy with his broad boyish smile.

" Sorry, I didn't swing that way but, it is my card" he said, offering his card to the still smiling boy.

" However, you can always give me a call and someday come to my company. I will give you a tour personally. What' s your name? " he added and a few smiles appeared and whoa' s went off

" Whoa. A tour?" The guy's smile went wider as he held the card in his hands and his eyes gleamed.

" You are way better than I imagined" The nerd said and stopped, then suddenly added " and right , my name is Adam. Adam Forbes " and Mason just smiled

"Is there something you need or something I can help you with for sure?" he asked.

Mason smiled and replied " I would like to meet the Dean of student affairs, Adam. Can you help with that?"

"Definitely," Adam replied.

Adam led the way while Mason followed behind him with his rich strides .

" It's really great to meet you in person sir. I had no even idea that your sister attended our college. I guess you didn't want to call much attention to her". The dean talked on endlessly and Mason just smiled as he sat on the chair offered to him.

" We are glad to have you here. Mr Carlton. Is there something I can help with?" The dean finally asked.

" Yes, there is a particular student of yours that I would love to meet", Mason said.

"Oh. Sure . No problem at all . You have a name, right?" The dean asked.

" Yes, that, I do." Mason replied with a slight smile.
