Ye Fan Isn't The Protagonist Anymore

"AAAAAAAAAAH!" Ye Fan immediately clutched his severed arm using his other hand and shrieked in horror while spazzing out on the floor.

He was so in pain that his brain couldn't even process what had just happened other than the fact that his hand had just gotten sliced off.

All of Gu Shunzhang's bodyguards who had a sword aimed directly at their necks didn't even dare try and move a single inch for fear that they might also suffer the same fate as Ye Fan.

Sure, even though they were suppose to be bodyguards for the Gu family and some of them were even raised by the Gu family since birth, they all knew that they wouldn't be able to change the outcome of the current situation they were in right now even if they had tried to do something about it.

Gu Shunzhang, who also had a sword directly aimed at his neck, couldn't help but look at his benefactor in horror for a brief second before looking at Ronald with utmost disbelief.

As the head of the Gu family, Gu Shunzhang had extensive knowledge about most of the major families' histories in all of China.

So naturally, this also meant that knew, or at least he thought he knew a lot about the Kuangge family's history and especially about Ronald since he was extremely infamous throughout China for being extremely arrogant despite the fact that he was absolutely talentless and also a dog licker to Luna, the daughter of the Xuan family.

But that same exact Ronald everyone has come to know just revealed that he has bodyguards that can easily defeat one of the four 'Gods of War' in the Western World.

That's right, he knew that his benefactor was a god of war because right after he had gotten rescued by Ye Fan and went back over to China, he had dug out all of Ye Fan's background information and saw all of the amazing feats and titles he had under his name.

But anyhow, Gu Shunzhang couldn't help but start to shiver just thinking about how much power the Kuangge family actually had.

If all of Ronald's bodyguards currently present here even had half of the strength and power that Ye Fan has, wouldn't that mean that the Kuangge family would be the strongest family in the entirety of China?

And the fact that Ronald does have at least a bodyguard that can completely defeat Ye Fan with ease proves that the Kuangge family was definitely a family that hid extremely deeply.

It's no wonder why Ronald was always so arrogant and didn't actually care about what the country thought about him!

He never cared about it to begin with!

The 10 major families in the capital city of China, who are also considered the behemoths and the pillars of China, were nothing but clowns in the eyes of the Kuangge family.

"Y-young Master R-Ronald... I-I'm e-extremely sorry for c-causing you a disturbance." Gu Shunzhang couldn't help but started stuttering.

Even though Gu Shunzhang definitely admired his benefactor and wanted nothing but the best for him, he knew that if he didn't woo Ronald now, then everything that the Gu family had built up for centuries to get to where they're at right now will completely disappear from the face of this earth.

For some reason however, Ronald didn't even bother replying back to him, so Gu Shunzhang started to get extremely anxious.

"Y-Young M-Maste-" Before Gu Shunzhang could say anything else...

"Bro shut up, I'm trying to think here." Ronald said at Gu Shangzhang and then went back to thinking inside of his head once again.

Although Ronald didn't know who these people wearing daoist robes were and why they are currently protecting him right now, he could instantly tell that literally all of them were significantly much stronger than Ye Fan.

And that's the problem!

Why the hell are people significantly stronger than Ye Fan appearing this early on in the story!

Wasn't Ye Fan suppose to build up his connections and stupid harem first before encountering enemies that he couldn't beat?

Although Ronald was aware that Sylvia had shown up early in advance because of his misdoings, he was pretty sure that he hadn't actually done anything else that would attract all of these random people.

Of course, Ronald had also taken into consideration about how the plots and the heroine's original personalities deviating from the original novel might've caused this...

But that definitely just didn't sound plausible at all.

So after thinking about it for a bit longer, there was only one possible explanation as to why all of this was happening.

'Ye Fan isn't the protagonist anymore.'

That's right, from everything that has happened so far ever since he had regressed back to the beginning of the novel, Ronald was almost certain that Ye Fan had lost his protagonist identity.

After all, would a protagonist really struggle this hard trying to fight off against someone like Ronald?

Of course not!

It was understandable for Ye Fan to have some minor setbacks the moment he starts encountering some of the intermediates and high-ranked villains.

But for Ye Fan to have huge setbacks when going up against someone like Ronald, who was literally considered a cannon fodder villain in the story?

Impossible.

So if Ye Fan wasn't actually the protagonist of the story, then who was?

Well it definitely isn't Ronald.

At first, Ronald had considered the fact that he himself had somehow became the protagonist of this shitty story, however, if that was actually the case then Gu Changsheng, another minor villain, wouldn't of have treated him so well to begin with.

After thinking about it for a bit longer, Ronald couldn't think of anyone else in this novel that might've gotten the role of the protagonist, so he decided to retrace his steps and go back to the Gu family to check up on Gu Yuan and see if her original personality had actually changed or not.

"Hey old man, go take Ye Fan to a hospital and get the hell out of my sights, I don't want to get accused for murder." Ronald stated coldly and then walked out of the bar with Iris.

'I wonder what'll happen if I try to commit suicide before my role is over...'

'Maybe I can regress back again to a third life...'

'Or maybe all of the heroines will get together to try to find a way to resurrect me!'

'...'

'Haha yeah no chance.'
